  1. Absolutely should have scored. It was a total melt down of our D which happened all too often in the second half of the season. The D in critical spots is getting too old and things have to change going forward. No more trying to plug in holes with 30 something's. They should draft with the goal of a rebuilding job on D and my personal take is to jettison the 3-4 and go back to the 4-3, with 4 legit. D lineman. LB's posing a D lineman trying to push around players who are 50 lbs. heavier is not and will not get the job done of sacking the QB!
  2. Pretty much agree. There are too many players in key positions getting "too long in the tooth" for football and the drafting has been a weak point for some years. There must be at least a partial rebuilding and the sooner the better. Just don't know if the current FO is also getting "too long in the tooth" to pull that one off. If they don't make the playoffs this year one could expect some big changes up and down the team chart although Harbaugh should be one of the few that should be safe.
  3. IMO your are way over rating the performance of Jimmy Smith and I would offer to you the PFF ratings on him as my rational. He is no better than a league average performer and on most game days he does not even reach average grades for CB's .... He's still better then our alternatives don't you think? Without a doubt!
  4. and who would you suggest be our new head coach and new QB? Probably Jeff Fisher & Case Keenum :)
  5. Think the Ravens should give Floyd a look see? Whoever takes a flyer on him has got to get him into an AA program, pronto. Nowadays his problem is looked upon as a disease but he has to be the one to "grab the Bull by the horns", if you will. The clock is ticking on him and he'll be lucky to get another chance. What a shame such a gifted athlete could throw away a career that 99.5% of the worlds population can only dream about. This poster wishes him all the best in fighting this disease but, once again, only he can make the commitment to control it.
  6. They rank #10 but in the last three games they were third.
  7. Good observation! Powers is a weakness. When they see him in they attack! But this can be a good thing because Webb should now know what to do always help over the top on Powers side? Never leave him one on one! wright is the same way! Now my little gem Young! Beasty Boy! I was scared when I saw him go down? Webb has been clueless for years now. And good corners are as hard to find as good quarter backs. Kinda like in base ball everyone needs starting pitching and in the NFL everyone needs starting corners. Very few teams have them. Hot commodity, better nail one in the first round or just get plain out lucky. Webb didn't look clueless on that INT.. Wright is the clueless one.
  8. Powers is better than Wright. You don't say.
  9. As the late great Ralph Kramden(Jackie Gleason) so aptly put it..."How sweet it is"
  10. Yes, Baltman and Raven ! Much, much better, :)
  11. The dynamic duo. Let's turn it up fellas and the Ravens can have their own version of Batman & Robin.
  12. The main difference between the 2000 crew and today's is the front of yesteryear had 4 legit. D lineman, with the two beefcakes in the middle and McCary & Burnett on the ends as pass rushers. Of course having a Ray Lewis patrolling from sideline to sideline behind them didn't hurt as well. This week will be The big test for our D.
  13. How 'bout dem Ravens Hons. Alright, it's only the Browns but they're all pros and on any given....
  14. We should definitely put all the blame on Joe - especially when receivers can't get open or better yet when they drop passes. Flacco looks to be in decline. He throws more off target passes now than completions. AND, to the wrong players- even when he is not that hurried QB in the draft should be a high priority. However, that's only the beginning and the start of a rebuilding process is a must!
  15. We are lucky to have the perfect Captain steering the ship in John Harbaugh. We just need patience! He can only do so much with what's been provided him. Even the great ones have to have the horses and the FO has failed to deliver in that dept.
  16. The draft in the last few years has been a weak spot for the R's. Add to that most of the so called impact players are now in their 30's and well on the way to retirement. A Coach can only go with what's given to him by the FO which try's to keep plugging holes with older, named players who have seen their better days. They may shortly have to come to the realization that a rebuilding project is in the immediate future and that would be better accomplished by a change in the FO. So you think during the draft and before hand that Harbaugh is in never never land making no decisions on which players he wants to coach out of the gathered talent the FO presents to him.... If that's the case that's another reason he should be gone, he can't be counted on to help bring the right players in. But that's not the case, these weak draft classes are people he signed off on. No he's not in never, never land but one can be assured he's not the final say whom gets drafted and the top priority thereof. He's just one cog in the final determination and his job description is to coach the team and not be the final determinative factor at all. That's the job of the FO and while they may seek his advice he'll be overruled in a heartbeat if the FO is enamored with someone. Also, once again, the holes they're filling with over the hill players lies squarely with the FO, period. He's even stated on more than one occasion that he's given the players to work with and his job is to try and make the best out of it. When you have a 37 yr old WR who is obviously hurt and at the end of his playing days and 30 something LB's who either can't pressure the QB or can't even get on the field, as is with case of Elvis, that falls on the FO. Now Satnley's hurt: that BYU fella is out for the year; Perriman is not living up to all the hype; and the lack of depth is, once again this year, all too apparent. That is not the fault of the coach but the FO. He may take the hit for this but he'll be hired by someone else in a football minute. It's highly doubtful any replacement will do any better unless there's a change in philosophy.

  18. Very, very nice indeed. That certainly does put things in the proper perspective Coach!
  19. They'll be happy when we win the games we are supposed to win. Firing Trestman was the responsibility of the coaches, not the fans. And it wasn't a matter of whether we wanted him fired or not. He HAD to be fired. One can be reasonably assured that decision came right from the very top. The last time an O coordinator was fired was also after a loss to the Redskins and the Ravens went on to win the SB. We should be so lucky this time!
  20. The lack of pass rush stood out glaringly and Carr had all day to throw. The blame can't be solely blamed on the DB's. One thing is becoming clearer by the week...Elvis & Terrell are showing their ages and the backups aren't stepping up to the fore. With that BYU fella out for the year and Stanley now hurt it might have been advisable to go D with that # 4 pick.
  21. Follow the leader. Looks like Mr. Weddle will have a career in coaching after his playing days are over. That, of course, is unless the broadcast booth beckons instead.
  22. What a pickup the Tuckman was. That kick would have been good from 60+.
