  1. Webb as a punt returner? Perish the thought. Just a plain stupid idea. Two major knee ops. that's all that should be said about it. Furthermore, Carter looks like a sleeper pick-up and could easily make the team as the punt returner.
  2. Nothing like some competition to get the juices flowing. Butler is making an impression and if the numbers don't work out others will be waiting in line. Going from slightly negative ground in the WR capacity to one that looks to be very strong, at least on paper.
  3. To runcontrol....have you taken a gander at the two Gentleman's record of injuries in college? It's a matter of record, esp with Lewis-Moore. He's was injured playing for the Irish & has unsuccessfully tried to stay injury free for two years now. Urban was also injured his last year( and earlier) in college and didn't even make it out of the first day of practice in '14 with a similar injury. Anything they can get out of these two fellas will be a bonus!
  4. Well, if Urban & Lewis Moore can stay healthy(a big IF) and with the maturation of Jernigan and the addition of Za Darius Smith, the pass rush should be better covered even with Elvis & Terrell getting a little long in the tooth, if you will.
  5. No to Webb, Smith or Jackson. Smith for obvious reasons and Webb & Jackson are DB's and the team can ill afford them getting injured. We'd be back in the same boat in the D backfield as we were in '14. Carter looks to be a viable candidate.
  6. If Urban & Lewis-Moore can stay healthy it'll be a sight to behold for us fans. Maybe not so much for our opponents QB's but c'est la vie.
  7. Gillmore has to shine and fast or he'll find himself behind Williams, the natural pass catcher.
  8. Somehow they'll figure a way to keep Camp & Carter. Camp may end up on the IR but they'll keep him.
  9. Jernigan? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. An interior lineman who can put the pressure on the QB. They don't grow on trees and his position is seemingly secure.
  10. Raven Maniac#7... Thanks for your kind words. I felt it was the least one could do to express one's deep respect and gratitude for the sacrifices our military have made over the history of our country. Their sacrifices have allowed us to continue to post here and other places and I also thank them personally for their service and putting themselves in harms way to keep this country free and beholden to the principles set down by our founding fathers. All the Best to you, my friend.
  11. Happy Memorial Day to all. Our heartfelt thanks and eternal gratitude to all who have made the ultimate sacrifice, from 1776 on, to keep this a free country and the greatest on the planet earth. Their sacrifices shall never be forgotten and may all rest in eternal peace.
  12. Let's hope these two gentlemen can stay healthy because they have a potential high upside and will help immeasurably in the pass rush department.
  13. Yeah, but can he play football?
  14. Who really cares as long as he doesn't try to pass the "Buck" on to someone else.
  15. Joe has a right to be optimistic but the one caveat is Kubiak has gone. It's still an open question if Trestman can duplicate his success. He can keep the same system in place but Gary was special. If it wasn't for the opening in Denver and Elway's friendship with him he'd still be with the team.
  16. Another bit of good news. Things are definitely looking up, at least on paper. The talent is there and will be formed into a winning, cohesive unit by the Coach & staff. As always, injuries are the big unknown but the Ravens seem to be adding the all important quality depth.
  17. Thanks for the memories, Jarrett. You were a good one and a credit to the Ravens and the game of football. You absolutely did epitomize the Raven way and done us proud. Best of luck in all your future endeavors.
  18. Carter very intriguing indeed. Looks like the Coach may have found his punt returner.
  19. Can't wait for training camp. We finally got some younger, speedy help for Joe and, on paper, it looks very, very promising. Just hope that Lewis-Moore and Urban can stay healthy and with Williams and Jernigan performances from last year it will give them depth. Davis also adds some insurance as well as Meyers on the O line. GO RAVENS!
  20. Thanks for the memories, Ed. You were/are truly one of a kind and gave us fans many unforgettable moments. Your innate instincts to know where the ball was going to be is legendary and while a few times you guessed wrong, the vast majority of times you were spot on. Thanks again old friend and know you shall remain in the hearts and minds of all Ravens fans forever more!
  21. Wanted him all along and was amazed he dropped that far. I don't know if the Ravens bluffed out the Broncos re: Ray but the talking heads said the B's were sure the R's were going to nab the DE, if available. Anyway you look at it, Perriman was just what the Ravens needed.
  22. Well said Coach! After having many heated debates with my female siblings I know in a small way what you're referring too. And my younger brother has a son playing high school football and you'd think he was committing a high crime letting him participate. But he's held fast and the boy has grown in leaps and bounds in his attitude towards life. I won't repeat what you have already gone over re: attributes that you so eloquently put forth but know that it's been a very positive experience just as you have so capably stated.
  23. This is somewhat of a head scratcher but we should have known it'd be another Alabama guy. Just don't see the logic in it with the likes of Upshaw, Brown, Smith. and even Simon in the wings. The R's still don't have the big play maker on O that is so desperately needed. Cooks could very well have been that difference maker on O that the teams needs to compliment Smith on the other side. With S. Smith and Daniels getting up their in age they're just one or two injuries from being back to square one on O. And with no O the D will, once again, have to be on the field a disproportionate amount of time and, also once again, rely primarily on Tucker's leg. Sorry, but a downer 1st. round pick to this poster.
  24. Good move by the FO and it looks more and more likely they'll be drafting for that impact player the O needs and needs badly. If they continue om this course it should please new O/C kubiak immensely.(not to mention Harbs)
  25. A good one year signing but they still have to draft an impact WR. With Smith, the R's could afford to give him time to mature and learn from a veteran.
