  1. Nice to know that the R's will be getting back some depth along the D line late in the season. It's anyone's guess re: health issues of the D linemen and he should be fresh and ready to go. And Perriman?
  2. bioLarzen- And what makes you think he won't live up to his obvious skill set? He was one of the few who would consistently be around the ball and looked like he knew what he was doing. There's a reason he was one of the first ones claimed(if not the first)and there's no doubt he'll(if healthy)make the Giants very happy they took a flyer on him. Let's stay in touch on this one. OK?
  3. No big surprise Asa was claimed almost immediately. He's got potential as a DB and, if he stays healthy, the Giants will reap the benefits.
  4. Does Perriman have a chance to play in game 1? Right. And if you believe that one have I got a deal for you! A fully functioning bridge, cheap. Please! The NFL knows better as well as the majority of Ravens fans.
  5. Hope that Asa comes back. He's a good cover corner and although he fumbled two KO returns that doesn't mean it will happen all season long. One can only hope that J. Smith stays healthy or the loss of Jackson will be felt even more so.
  6. Once again, how long is Perriman out for? Is it a season ending injury? And who do the R's have left to stretch the field and stop the opponents from stacking the box? As far as this poster can see no one! Zippo! The only one with breakaway speed is Carter and he's far from ready for prime time.
  7. Go Z go! Get to the point where we can say...Pernell who?
  8. Hope Fitz gets a real look see from the team. Just like the way he runs and he seems to be only a play or two from breaking a big one. Reminds one somewhat of Holmes when he came in as an undrafted FA and impressed. But the emphasis is on the word somewhat. Only more playing time will tell.
  9. Wins and losses in the preseason are pretty much irrelevant but the losses to injuries are the real barometer on how the season will go. Camp already injured is no big surprise but the OL is of concern. The WR position is of major concern esp. if Perriman's knee is worse than the R's are letting on. They need a speedy wide out to make the opponents D keep from stacking the line. If they have to rely mainly on the run game and the dink and dunk passes it might be a long season. Carter has the speed but he certainly doesn't look like he's ready for prime time. However, there were a few bright spots with Z Smith's performance (expected) and the DB Cassius Vaughn's (unexpected). It's far to early to panic but the D has not looked good at all with the pass rush looking almost non-existent.
  10. Great report and very informative. However and just saying....How serious is Perriman's injury?
  11. Go, Ozzie, Go! Well deserving and hope he gets the recognition. BTW.... did anyone notice that former R's speedster Deonte T. caught a 51 yd TD pass last night. Speaking of speedsters,(of which the R's are in short supply)what's the latest on Perriman? The longer he's out and the longer they're quiet about it the worse it's looking.
  12. January J...you really think that Camp is going to make it throughout the season without an injury? That seems like wishful thinking. He reminds one somewhat of Stokley who could find the open spot but could never stay healthy. They will try to keep both just because of aforementioned concerns and don't want to give up on a speedster. That's one talent that can't be coached. Taxi squad a probability but he could be taken off of it by another team and if Camp goes down the merry-go-round starts again.
  13. January J....I suggest Carter, who has more than enough speed to cover the position. I repeat, they cannot afford to start losing DB's because they're running back kicks. It's stupid considering that was the one position that in all likelihood cost the Ravens a trip to the SB. They may have more bodies for the position but the quality is still up in the air. Carter is raw but he has the potential and Jackson is/was counted on to be an big time contributor this season.
  14. Good ending although it'll soon be forgotten. All one can hope for is the injuries are kept to a minimum and the second teams improve with more playing time. Two questions, please. What is the latest on Perriman's status and what is Jackson doing running kicks back? Since he has had knee problems in the past and he's more than adequate as a cover man it seems foolish to expose him to the hard hits associated with those duties. The Ravens can't afford to lose anymore DB's or they'll be back to trolling the scrapheap for bodies during the season.
  15. Unfortunate re: Urban but no big surprise. His history tells of the gamble the R's made in selecting him. A 4th round pick lost but it was worth the roll of the dice. As a matter of fact he would have gone much higher if there wasn't a concern with injury related issues. On the bright side Carter is looking good and may be earning a spot as the kick returner and WR.
  16. Drats! Every year it seems someone who's ready to take the next step comes down with a serious injury. Last year it was both Urban & Lewis-Moore and one can only hope that's it limited this year. But that's the nature of the game and the Ravens are far from alone in facing such circumstances.
  17. Let's hope Urban & Lewis-Moore can stay healthy .The book on them is they're plus pass rushers and with Elvis & Terrell not getting any younger it's important to have that kind of depth.
  18. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see Waller & Carter make it. Waller because of his size and Carter for his punt return potential.
  19. Not worth it Mr. Pitta. What could have been must haunt but just not worth it. He should move on and know that he was part of an elite community and of the 7 Billion people on this planet he was one of the few who deserved to "ride" with them. He'll always have the memories.
  20. Running and stopping the run may be fundamental to the Ravens success but the way the NFL is configured today means they must have a passing attack that will stretch the field. Hopefully, Perriman will mature quickly and be in that mix. He can help stop the opponents from stacking the box and ultimately propel the running game.
  21. Get'er done with the Tuckman. He's one of the best and will only get better as he matures. No more Cundiff's.
  22. I'm all in for Pitta but let's hope he adopts the old saying that "discretion is the better part of valor" That type of injury is quite serious and it wasn't a pretty sight when he collapsed on the field without being touched. He owes it not only to himself but his family to not have to live the rest of his life with a debilitating disability. He's a special talent that made this poster ecstatic when they drafted him. Watched him at BYU and knew he was hands down better then Dickson, who they took in the same round. But enough is enough and he should move on with the rest of his life.
  23. Let's not forget about Lewis-Moore & Urban. One never has enough healthy D lineman. Besides, they're are supposed to be outstanding pass rushers.
  24. Here's wishing you and yours a very Happy, Joyous and Safe July 4th weekend. And that wish also extends to all the Ravens players, coaches and their families, including the best owner in all of football. Go Ravens!
  25. Great article but one hopes that the team is getting more than Kubiak lite. There's only one real deal and if he just tries to emulate him it will be difficult.
