  1. To chuchu 707... The difference is slight(Asa 4.41) and as you said Asa is more shifty. And as some has alluded to his holding on to the ball is a problem which seems to make it a coin flip on who one picks. I guess the determining factor was Ross is a WR. Just wondering why he was allowed to get away from his previous team? Regardless, let's hope this move works out.
  2. Good move although Asa more speed. Regardless, it's better than having an regular DB or WR putting themselves at added risk for injuries.
  3. Perry who? Please stop and just let us know when he's coming back. Pretty please. And make Givens a punt returner? And get him injured and have to sign someone else? Bring back Asa or even Ross but leave him to his WR duties.
  4. Fantastic news. Absolutely earned and long overdue. This poster actually saw them in action as a kid and what memories. They shall be cherished until the memories are no more.
  5. The only one of the aforementioned players who has breakaway speed is Jackson. It's that simple and he can be taught how to hold on to the ball. Bring him back and let's see what happens. His speed can make the difference between victory and defeat.
  6. Another WR to run back kicks??? Let's get Asa back out there. He may have fumbled a couple but he also took one back to the house. And besides, like in baseball, the time to make the mistakes and correct them is when the games don't count. Bring him back.
  7. Re-sign the Tuckman now!!!!
  8. treversteadman.... the main point is that the running game is non existent because the opponents are stacking the box with 8. And the reason they can get away with it is because the R's have NO WR's that require double coverage. None! They definitely do need a stretch the field receiver although it should be done in the draft and not give away any draft picks. No matter the passing yards stat the fact remains they're 0-3.
  9. Disappointing for sure but not surprising in the least. There was an article today in the Post about the lack of a running game in Balt. this year as compared to last year. Well the news re: Perriman has a lot to do with it. The lack of a WR that can go deep and take a DB or two with him may be the main culprit. The opposing D is just stacking the box with confidence their DB's can go one on one with our receiving core. And with justification. Having stated that the lack of D is still the main problem
  10. Babin our new savior? Don't get too carried away with someone different esp.with the miles he has on him. But he couldn't do any worse, can he?
  11. They shouldn't be having to "survive" anything since they should at least be 2-1 and potentially 3-0. This Ravens D is a far cry from some of our younger posters Dad's Ravens D. They let McPhee, Williams & Graham go and replaced them with questionable talent. Having said that we must also be patient with the young ones since they're still learning on the fly. But, to date, the horses just aren't there and that falls on the FO's shoulders. The fact that the D can't make even a credible last stand in tight games falls squarely on the D/C's shoulders.
  12. Perriman, to this date, is an injury bust. To try and bring him back prematurely could derail a career before it's even started. Get it over with, IR him for the year, and bring him back healthy next year. Hopefully, it's a lesson learned and they bring in qualified speedsters to cover exactly this type of problem in the future.
  13. Do appreciate the article as a football fan. It's just too bad it couldn't be the Ravens taking the high road after a victory. However, the bottom line is the Ravens are once again having major problems in the secondary and the reason is probably a combination of the FO and the D/C not doing their jobs. Not only is that D far short of being playoff caliber it's not even good enough to be of .500 caliber.
  14. What can be expected is the D should do better on Sunday because the QB isn't as mobile as Carr. When they faced an immobile Manning they had a much better time getting to the QB but the mobile one made it look like an exercise in futility. One thing that did not happen was an adjustment at halftime to correct the problem and if there was some they were woefully inadequate.
  15. That call against Hill was specious, to say the least. Just watching the clip it could have gone either way as the WR ran into him seemingly causing incidental contact. However, the way the D played all game one felt that Murphy's law would prevail for the Ravens.
  16. The talking heads said Jimmy Smith and some others got up a 4 AM and that may have caused the meltdown of the defense. Maybe it was more like them getting in at 4 AM?
  17. The Bengals game will tell a ton about the rest of the season. Maybe the Ravens can get both sides of the ball working in tandem to win one. Something has to done on D to change the equation or they'll be looking for a new D coordinator sooner rather than later. Been a fan the Baltimore Colts and of course the Ravens but honestly never remember a team taking apart a Baltimore D so completely and thoroughly as the Raiders did today. And I saw the Colts in the 50's exchange 56-0 insults with the Bears one season, with the Colts winning the first time and the Bears taking it the second time.Even then, it didn't seem as bad a shellacking as the R's experienced today. The Bears D scored 3 TD's in that game.
  18. If the WR's can't get any separation from single coverage it could again be be a long day for the O. Let's see if there is a change in the O's philosophy to make up for the lack of speed. Hopefully, in the future, they'll have more than one speedster to step up in case of injuries.
  19. Hope this fella is in shape to go on Sunday. Don't need to go out looking for another filler. Nonetheless, glad to have him.
  20. Smith as the punt returner? And Camp as the backup? It looks like Asa will be back much sooner than anticipated.
  21. Freeney is 35 yrs. old. And no one is rushing to sign him. Let's not get carried away with name recognition. In pro sports it's "what can you do for me now, not what you've done in the past."
  22. Next man up! The "Z" man.
  23. Anyone who compares Trestman to Kubiak is living in La La land. The adjustments to the opponents game plan are slow in coming, if at all. Of course, Kubiak had Torrey & Jacoby to work with while Trestman has only possession type receivers on the field. If they don't get Perriman on the field in short order it may be a long season for the offense.Even just as an option if not ready for prime time. Otherwise, all the opponents will do is stack the box with 8 players thus thwarting the R's running game & the dink and dunk passing attack. There's no plan B here and that's not Trestman's fault. BTW... Did they give Perriman a physical before drafting him and did he have a history of knee problems in college?
  24. Very happy they brought Asa back. It seems like the teams may have had a gentleman's agreement and the R's will reciprocate in the future. He has good cover skills in my opinion and can bring it when running back kicks. Besides, if Camp was the only returner they had it was a foregone conclusion he'd be back. BTW... what is the soft tissue issue with Camp? In boxing when one is a bleeder he's said to have soft tissue but in football?
  25. Six of one, half a dozen of the other!
