I think, that would make sense for us.

@Your_vs_You_are All would make sense. My guess is Kyle QB coach, Dennison RB coach and Juan stays. But as I said, just a guess.
rickastleydancemoves says: "Me being a Texans fan, let me tell Raven fans what to expect: Run on first down, run on second down. If it’s third and short, play action bootleg to Torrey Smith. If its third and long, draw with Ray Rice.
Kubiak's ability as a playcaller is concerning for me as well. He's a slave to the playaction pass and I have seen the Ravens do the same thing over and over again (run, run, pass, punt) for far too long. It's a bit unfair to compare Kubiak to Cam, but it still doesn't change the fact, that the Texans weren't exactly known as a very dynamic offensive team.
Doesn't he run the west coast offense? Neither are precise route runners and that's a huge piece of the west coast offense. Hoping for Marquise Lee
I wonder how Joe would perform in a west coast offense, after watching him stand behind the OL waiting for WRs to get open downfield for so long. If it's done well, we might actually see Joe throw to open receivers. Another thing I haven't seen yet.
The latter, but I do think Newsome has a stronger say in it.
I would be okay with it, as long as Harbaugh had the final say in this. He is the HC and he should be making coaching staff decisions. We're not the Cowboys.
Aaron Wilson states that Jim Hostler's position could be something to look out for because he could be gone after not getting the OC job.
Sounds like wishful thinking to me. Who would want him? Our WR aren't really developing all that well.
Are the reports of Bisciotti making coaching staff decisions true or is it the typical "Mike Preston"-crap?
Rotoworld is claming Jim Zorn and Al Saunders as canidates. I have been hearing Zorn's name get thrown around a lot. What do you guys think?
I would like to see him return as the QB coach, but I'm not sure what his relationship with Harbs is like. I don't think it would help the lockerroom, if Zorn would be giving John the "didn't I tell you Cam was a joke?"-look everytime they see eachother.
Also didn't help that RGIII missed 3 games and wasn't himself even when he was playing.
Yeah, the Redskins better start turning RG3s carreer around, because he's starting to look like a bust.
Anyway, I would be interested in where Shanahan might take this offense and how much change Harbs is willing to allow. I have a feeling, the Ravens were ready to let go of Caldwell regardless of his job situation and might be preparing for big changes in the offensive playbook.
Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I really think we need go away even further from Cam's system.
Shanahan would be an interesting and bold choice. Much more bold than I would expect a decision for the Ravens offense to be. That 2013 season with the Redskins is troubling, though, but more things went wrong for that team than just the offense. Mike Shanahan basically lost control over the whole team and we do know, that this won't happen under Harbs.
Aww nawww helll naww we Need Norv gary wouldn't help joe out one bit
Aaron Wilson @RavensInsider 14m
League source confirms Vikings granted permission to interview Browns' Norv Turner for offensive coordinator vacancy in Minnesota
Because he seems inept to in-game adjustments. His playcalling is extremely conservative and at times very predictable. If you think Cam was vanilla, then watch Kubes playcalling. Flacco's biggest attribute is his arm strength. Norv can put that to use in his playcalling.
Kubes would destroy that attribute. I know Schaub has a noodlearm, but I know Houston fans have been calling for Kubes head for years. And I watched them a lot since I have a lot of friends that are Texans fans.
Kubiak's playbook has only the play-action pass in it. That's it.
I think, the work that Norv has done for Cleveland last season was super impressive considering, that he had to call plays with 3 different QBs.
I saw that too, but apparently Jim's interview went well
That's "Rooney Rule"-talk. Nobody wants him and it's crazy to sit on pins and needles hoping someone might take him. It's not going to happen.
Even though its just a rumor, pretty interesting.
That's not a rumor, that's speculation. Where's the difference between that site and our posts? The only thing they do is add up a bunch of events and come up with conclusions without any evidence. Oh, Jim Caldwell is having interviews with other teams and Norv Turner is displeased with how the Browns are running things? Wow, you don't say, welcome to last week!
Doesn't Kubiak live and die with the play-action pass? I don't remember him running a very creative systems either. I'd rather have us continue down the path we took this season, but get more creative in the playcalling.
That was kinda funny. Maybe it was the best part for you, but for Joe, the Team and fans, the best part was that it was another sign that he was continuing to improve as a receiver.
For me, the best part was, that we scored a TD, which we do rarely this season and that we were able to move the ball, which we started to do just lately. We lack in depth at the WR position. The fact, that Jacoby is our second best receiver, is part of that problem for the Ravens offense. He is a great KR and if we can sign him as a ST player for ST money, than that's great for everyone involved, but he is not a viable complement to Torrey, who struggles himself to be a consistent threat in the passing game.
Did you really just compare Jacoby to Megatron?? Lmao.
He's an elite returner, but he doesn't nearly have the value of a consistent presence in the passing game like Pitta. Its not even close.
Evidently some people seem to be under the impression, that we can sign Jacoby to an inexpensive contract. I don't think it's a given.
What's it matter how he scores? The thing is good things can happen when the ball is in his hands. I mean I'm not trying to knock Pitta, but as the coaches put it themselves for'explosive'plays,we'd get'em faster from Jacoby then we would Pitta. And playmakers are a commodity in the league.
You're right. The only thing that matters is that you score. Let's see in 2012 Dennis Pitta scored 7 TDs and Jacoby Jones scored 1 TD and returned 3 kicks for TDs. 7>4 I guess Dennis Pitta wins that one.
Btw, Dennis did score a TD in his very first game of this season, while Jacoby has score 2 TDs and returned one kick for a score. So with just one game under his belt, Pitta already has 1/3 of Jacoby's TD total.
Jacoby Jones is a great kick returner and returning kicks for a TD is a very exciting play to make, but Pitta is better red zone threat and he is a great asset for converting 3rd downs. If the choice is Jacoby or Pitta (I would prefer to keep both of them), then the choice is easily Pitta.
Pitta is by far the more explosive and reliable playmaker.
Agreed. I think it's very possible to secure Pitta, Jacoby and Monroe next season. We've got room to do so and a front office that can manage it. Found a good explanation.
southpaw2k says:
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/12/09/dennis-pitta-remarkable-to-be-back-in-lineup/
I certainly hope so, but Monroe (a genuine franchise LT) will be an expansive signing, so I'm not so sure about all that cap room you're talking about.
Exactly. Pittas' a good security blanket for Joe, but Gronkowski or Graham he is not.Jacoby right now is our best game changer. Even moreso then Torrie.
So what, if Pitta isn't Graham? We don't have Graham and there is no garantee that we get Graham in the next draft. We have Pitta right now, who still is one of the best receiving TEs in the game and who does have great chemistry with our QB.
I don't even know, what the nebulous term "game changer" is suppose to mean, but I haven't seen Jacoby make many plays as a WR in our last game, apart of causing an INT. He's biggest impact comes as a kick returner and that's not even close to being comparable to a good receiver like Torrey (who atleast managed to score a TD in the passing game for us).
Once or twice a season on special teams and also a few times as a deep threat receiver. You are seriously underselling his big play ability. Tandon Doss is an absolute bum who couldn't catch the plague if he lived in the Late Middle Ages. Hopefully this guy is off the roster next year and the closest he should ever get to the NFL ever again is an NFL all access pass from the comfort of his couch. Tandon Doss haha get out of here with that man.
Also Pitta is good, but do you really wanna pay top $$$ to a guy whos best season accumulated less than 670 yards receiving?? I like him and want him back, but if he wants a ton of money I would rather pay to keep Jacoby and take either the TE from Washington or UNC in the first round next year since both of them are great and can probably give around the same production if not better. That also gives a little additional money to sign someone else we may want too since Jacoby would definitely cost less than Pitta.
We didn't have a redzone offense and Flacco had no reliable receivers on 3rd down without PItta.
Jacoby is a great Kick Returner, that's it. He is still unreliable at catching the ball and is not a viable option as the 2nd receiver in an offense opposite of Torrey (You know that, if you have seen the game against the Vikings). He already failed to be that in Houston opposite of Andre Johnson (And Torrey is not Andre Johnson).
Jacoby is a good #3 WR and a great kick returner. But, we would be just fine with Marlon Brown and Doss filling in those roles respectively. I would NOT take him over Pitta. I hope we can sign Jacoby to return kicks for us, but Pitta is the best receiver we had in a while (You must've seen him play and the impact he has on the passing game) and you don't lose guys like that, you sign them.
Look Monroe is 1st priority, but after that I mean I put Jacoby on the same level as Pitta currently. I wanna see how Pitta finishes out this season first and let him show me he can be Joe's go to number 1. The thing about Pitta and Torrey Smith for that matter is AT THIS POINT neither can take over a game and really be a game breaker. They are both good, neither are great. Unfortunately this team doesn't appear to have a GREAT player at a skill position, a Megatron or AP if you will that is a boss every single game and who defenses really can't shut down every single game. Jacoby Jones is the closest thing to that that we have. The dude is a game breaker and does it more consistently than anyone else on the roster we have and that is valuable even if it only comes mostly through returns
I take a good WR and TE over a great Kick Returner. Jacobys biggest asset is a play that happens once or twice a season (one, that we have seen Doss being capable of). I'd take consistently great offense over great special teams ANY TIME.
I want the Ravens to sign Monroe and Pitta at the very least. Even if it costs us Jones.
He's actually 5th on the team behind Torrey, Rice, Dallas Clark, and Marlon.
And that's in a season without Pitta.
We need to sign Monroe, Pitta, Ihedigbo and Daryl Smith first (in that order, imho), which will make it hard for the Ravens to sign Jacoby if he draws alot of interest.
Not that good. It's not like we have tons of cap space and we do have some pretty big contracts coming up.
I think Eugene Monroe will be the biggest signing of 2014 for the Ravens (and the Ravens will absolutely want to sign him). Followed by Dennis Pitta, James Ihedigbo, Arthur Jones and Corey Graham. I wouldn't be surprised, if the Ravens will made an attempt of signing Torrey and Jimmy Smith in the next offseason also, eventhough their contracts will run for another season.
Jacoby just isn't a top priority, when compared to those players, imho. I still think, that we can upgrade from Jacoby in the next draft and that Brown, Mellette and Doss make him expandable.
I really wish Ed can retire as a Raven. He was so important for the franchise. That said, our secondary is sadly better without him. True and very painfull to point that out as a fan.

That would ease my mind a little. Harbs is one season removed from being a SB champion and missed the playoffs for the first time in his carreer and then just barely. I think it would make the Ravens look like a dysfunctional organisation, if the FO would turn on John this sudden.
