  1. Wow. Defense is gonna be solid for a few years.

It was really good last year. I hoped we would work on our actual weak point last season and draft some offense. Oh well, there's always next year...is what I said last year.

Ozzie Newsome is an Alabama guy...why do we even scout anymore?

We could use more ILBs. I don't think we invested enough in that position.

  4. Ozzie Newsome is arguably the most successful GM of all time, in 18 seasons he's put together two Super Bowl winning teams from scratch. What are your credentials?

Well, unlike Newsome, I didn't draft Kyle Boller. So there is that.

  5. Joe Flacco will be the only 1st round draft pick on offense, that the Ravens have made and is still playing for the team. Will we finally go offense in the 2nd round? I hope so.

  7. Waiting for the draft sucks so much! Are we there yet?

With a draft this deep, I doubt there will be many teams willing to trade away picks. Especially for the middle of the 1st round.

Well, they're thinking about expanding the playoffs now, so they're clearly on a roll. Goodell is a GENIUS!!!

  9. Orioles up to there old tricks! Thank God for the Ravens! The O's are terrible!

And then they left. Problem solved, right? Teams can't be great all the time. I'm sure the Ravens will suck someday and then it will be up to the fans and the city to support them.

I bet people said something similar about the Colts at some point. Remember your history, unless you want it to repeat itself.

  11. Bummer that we missed out on Weeden.

He didn't want to be part of an 8-8 team, so he chose to play for Dallas.

Who's gonna prevent him from throwing INTs in the SB? Maybe they should trade for Flacco to play for them in the playoffs.

  13. All the recent changes have completely changed the Browns. They have talented players now and will get better with free agency and the draft, the Browns will be a very powerful team in 2014

Their coaching staff is a mess and I don't trust their FO. They still lack a franchise QB.

  14. I don't want the Texans WR coach. Jacoby looked like a bum with him, but Jacoby was a play maker with Hostler... no thanks

  15. Looks like we'll lose Caldwell. Time for the Principal(AKA Biscotti) to step in, over ride Harbs BFF choice for new OC and hire the right OC.

We seem to question the guy, who brought us a SB LAST SEASON alot, after a 8-8 season.

  16. So Harbs is keeping his inept buddies on his coaching staff. Yawn, nothing new here. If the Ravens miss the playoffs again next year and dont improve at all, then I will personally lead the Harbaugh must be fired group.

      PolishRifle

Atleast he doesn't have TWO guys coaching the OL anymore. I just hope we don't stick with Caldwell. I don't see Jim making big changes to the playbook and I don't want to watch Cameron's system in use any more.

  17. Can someone explain to me why the Flacco thread got locked...? Very constructive discussion going on there... C'mon now

    1. PolishRifle

      PolishRifle

Was it constructive? It was the same 3 guys complaining about Joe with the same arguments, that I can repeat in my sleep already.

  18. Jay Cutler gets $18M a year over three years totaling $54M. Flacco's first three years only combine for $36M.

I wish Flacco had Brandon Marshall to throw the ball to.

Would make his job much easier.

I do not like the Steelers, but Marvin Lewis is okay in my book. I hope the Bengals find some playoff success for his sake.

As far as our Ravens go. It became clear, that Ozzie can't keep treating the offense like the red headed step child of the team.

  20. I feel that's inevitable that we draft a RB (as we should) but damn it, I hope we get a bruiser (somebody like Eddie Lacy) that can grind out a few tough yards. Are there any out there in this year's draft?

    1. PolishRifle

      PolishRifle

Is it? Rice has been bad for just one season. Who's to say he can't bounce back next year, if the OL gets better? We have bigger needs at WR.

    2. (See 4 other replies to this status update)

  21. The Ravens need a new OC (we should've signed Norv Turner) and Flacco needs a QB coach.

    1. PolishRifle

      PolishRifle

Maybe you guys are right, but I still feel we need someone with more experience as an OC. When you look at the Pats passing game, you can see Brady throwing to wideopen receivers all day long. That has much to do with the gameplan they're running. How many times have we heard the phrace "Nobody is open"? Far too often, that's how many!

You're right Stephenjr, but that doesn't exempt Joe from blame. He, like the whole offense, had a bad game.

  23. our offense looks impressive till we get to the opponents 30 or so then just dies out.

  24. Congratulations to Torrey Smith on becoming the first Ravens receiver to reach 1,000 yards since Derrick Mason in 2009!
