  1. I would like to see him return as the QB coach, but I'm not sure what his relationship with Harbs is like. I don't think it would help the lockerroom, if Zorn would be giving John the "didn't I tell you Cam was a joke?"-look everytime they see eachother.
  2. Yeah, the Redskins better start turning RG3s carreer around, because he's starting to look like a bust. Anyway, I would be interested in where Shanahan might take this offense and how much change Harbs is willing to allow. I have a feeling, the Ravens were ready to let go of Caldwell regardless of his job situation and might be preparing for big changes in the offensive playbook. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I really think we need go away even further from Cam's system.
  3. Shanahan would be an interesting and bold choice. Much more bold than I would expect a decision for the Ravens offense to be. That 2013 season with the Redskins is troubling, though, but more things went wrong for that team than just the offense. Mike Shanahan basically lost control over the whole team and we do know, that this won't happen under Harbs.

  5. Kubiak's playbook has only the play-action pass in it. That's it.
  6. I think, the work that Norv has done for Cleveland last season was super impressive considering, that he had to call plays with 3 different QBs.
  7. Turner, Chud or McAdoo, but please don't make Hostler the OC now!

who ever the offensive coordintor going to be determines what receiver the ravens is going to draft? If it's Turner/chud then expect Mike Evans, If its Mcadoo then its Marqise lee and if its Hostler well umm hmmm well no comment

McAdoo is basically off the list. They say he's going to the Giants.

Agree with you on this one. Hostler is not the one.

  8. How likely is it, that Jim Hostler will keep his job? All of our potential replacements for Boldin, we liked so much, failed miserably last season.

Midway into the 2007 season, the 49ers' offense was ranked last in the NFL, and the 49ers' rushing offense, ranked sixth the previous year, was ranked near the bottom of the league after eight games under Hostler's direction. Under Hostlers' direction, the 49ers fell behind every team in the league in the categories of total offense, yards passing, and yards per play

He needs to go as well. Underdevelopment of wide receivers was very evident this year.

  9. That's "Rooney Rule"-talk. Nobody wants him and it's crazy to sit on pins and needles hoping someone might take him. It's not going to happen.
  10. If Harbs plans on firing Caldwell, he'll get no assists from the Lions: Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet59m#Lions view #Chargers OC Ken Whisenhunt as a top candidate. They have competition. #Redskins, #Vikings all shown interest. Now, #Titans too
  11. That's not a rumor, that's speculation. Where's the difference between that site and our posts? The only thing they do is add up a bunch of events and come up with conclusions without any evidence. Oh, Jim Caldwell is having interviews with other teams and Norv Turner is displeased with how the Browns are running things? Wow, you don't say, welcome to last week!

No way I live in NC, hE DID NOTHING AS an OC! Cam is gifted, and is and was the only offense that the Panthers have and had.

  13. Doesn't Kubiak live and die with the play-action pass? I don't remember him running a very creative systems either. I'd rather have us continue down the path we took this season, but get more creative in the playcalling.
  14. Lovie Smith for DC?

Hes a Tampa 2 disciple. We're about as far away from that as possible.

Thats the equivalent of saying "Eric Decker for WR" as Lovie Smith is atop the FA coaches big board

Lovie appears too be too laid back for me. I think we've had enough of those types with the last few DC's. I'd like to have someone who if fiery but very effective defensively like a Rex.

  15. The Ravens need a new OC (we should've signed Norv Turner) and Flacco needs a QB coach.

Maybe you guys are right, but I still feel we need someone with more experience as an OC. When you look at the Pats passing game, you can see Brady throwing to wideopen receivers all day long. That has much to do with the gameplan they're running. How many times have we heard the phrace "Nobody is open"? Far too often, that's how many!

You are correct sir. This team needs a complete overhaul starting from top to bottom. They don't have that killer instinct.

  16. For me, the best part was, that we scored a TD, which we do rarely this season and that we were able to move the ball, which we started to do just lately. We lack in depth at the WR position. The fact, that Jacoby is our second best receiver, is part of that problem for the Ravens offense. He is a great KR and if we can sign him as a ST player for ST money, than that's great for everyone involved, but he is not a viable complement to Torrey, who struggles himself to be a consistent threat in the passing game.
  17. When your QB is having a great game and the offense is still not able to score a single TD against the Lions, then something is going terribly wrong with your offense!

We need a TRUE OC, someone like how Ken Whisenhunt is helping Philip Rivers reviving his career, and a new WR coach that'll help our WRs run our better routes. If we can do that in the offseason while maintaining our defense (asking for a lot), we're easily a 12-13 win team.

  18. Evidently some people seem to be under the impression, that we can sign Jacoby to an inexpensive contract. I don't think it's a given.
  19. You're right. The only thing that matters is that you score. Let's see in 2012 Dennis Pitta scored 7 TDs and Jacoby Jones scored 1 TD and returned 3 kicks for TDs. 7>4 I guess Dennis Pitta wins that one. Btw, Dennis did score a TD in his very first game of this season, while Jacoby has score 2 TDs and returned one kick for a score. So with just one game under his belt, Pitta already has 1/3 of Jacoby's TD total. Jacoby Jones is a great kick returner and returning kicks for a TD is a very exciting play to make, but Pitta is better red zone threat and he is a great asset for converting 3rd downs. If the choice is Jacoby or Pitta (I would prefer to keep both of them), then the choice is easily Pitta. Pitta is by far the more explosive and reliable playmaker.
  20. I certainly hope so, but Monroe (a genuine franchise LT) will be an expansive signing, so I'm not so sure about all that cap room you're talking about. So what, if Pitta isn't Graham? We don't have Graham and there is no garantee that we get Graham in the next draft. We have Pitta right now, who still is one of the best receiving TEs in the game and who does have great chemistry with our QB. I don't even know, what the nebulous term "game changer" is suppose to mean, but I haven't seen Jacoby make many plays as a WR in our last game, apart of causing an INT. He's biggest impact comes as a kick returner and that's not even close to being comparable to a good receiver like Torrey (who atleast managed to score a TD in the passing game for us).
  21. We didn't have a redzone offense and Flacco had no reliable receivers on 3rd down without PItta. Jacoby is a great Kick Returner, that's it. He is still unreliable at catching the ball and is not a viable option as the 2nd receiver in an offense opposite of Torrey (You know that, if you have seen the game against the Vikings). He already failed to be that in Houston opposite of Andre Johnson (And Torrey is not Andre Johnson). Jacoby is a good #3 WR and a great kick returner. But, we would be just fine with Marlon Brown and Doss filling in those roles respectively. I would NOT take him over Pitta. I hope we can sign Jacoby to return kicks for us, but Pitta is the best receiver we had in a while (You must've seen him play and the impact he has on the passing game) and you don't lose guys like that, you sign them.
  22. I take a good WR and TE over a great Kick Returner. Jacobys biggest asset is a play that happens once or twice a season (one, that we have seen Doss being capable of). I'd take consistently great offense over great special teams ANY TIME. I want the Ravens to sign Monroe and Pitta at the very least. Even if it costs us Jones.
  23. And that's in a season without Pitta. We need to sign Monroe, Pitta, Ihedigbo and Daryl Smith first (in that order, imho), which will make it hard for the Ravens to sign Jacoby if he draws alot of interest.
  24. We never make it look easy, but we do know how to finish strong. That's Ravens football. That's why Flacco is THE Ravens QB.

  25. Gary Kubiak got fired. Should we hire him? Hmm.
