  1. That would be a great singing...around 2008.
  2. Russel Wilson doesn't cost the Seahawks nearly as much as Flacco does the Ravens. Without a replacement for Boldin (which I don't believe we have on the roster right now) that contract is a huge waste of money. All that garanteed money just to have him hand the ball over to a RB. Great.
  3. Flacco got a huge contract after he led us to the SB throwing the ball to Boldin and then we promptly traded away Anquan for peanuts. Two drafts went by, one with the deepest WR class in years another with Keenan Allen falling past us in the draft twice, and we have yet to adress the Boldin trade in the draft. Just like last year we're hoping, that the guys we have will fill in that role. I don't see it. You don't need a franchise QB to play good defense and run the ball well, yet that's all the Ravens seem to be interested in doing. That big contract makes less and less sense to me.
  4. We go NT with our first pick in 2015. Book it!

That joke is overplayed, T3hRaven. He drafted one excellent Alabama player and zero more. Get over it already.

  5. Yup, more patch up work for the offense. Wouldn't want to waste a pick on that part of team.
  6. RavensInsider Aaron Wilson Ozzie Newsome expressed confidence in Rick Wagner, Kelechi Osemele, Jah Reid, said they could also look for a veteran tackle in free agency Confindence in Jah Reid. Hilarious.
  7. KO is coming off back surgery, Zuttah is still backed up by Gino, we've got no RT outside of Wagner. Remember, what happened, when we started to get injuries on the OL last year? Steve Smith WAS a future HoFer, he doesn't have the ability anymore, that will get him to the HoF. If he still was, the Panthers wouldn't have cut him. I'm not crying, I still like our squad, I'm sure Kubiak and Flacco will make it work, but the lack of depth across the board on offense was very obvious last year, while we already had a solid defensive roster, that was ranked close to the top 10. The offense has little depth and close to no prospects that might have a future on our roster. Just a couple good players surrounded by old guys on their way out of the league, cast offs and UDFAs. This was a draft deep in WR and OL talent and we managed to avoid all of them. But atleast we have a crowded Dline.
  8. You realized, that worked once in 2000 and than we spend 8 years trying to rebuild the team and failed, while making the playoffs just any other year! The whole reason we turned into legit playoff contenders and made the playoffs 5 times in a row is because we got Flacco and the offense started to get good. I can't believe you posted "Don't ever forget defense can score touchdowns too". Real recipe for victory right there. That's sarcasm in case you didn't get it.
  9. People have a right to be naysayers, if they want to and I do think it's atleast understandable after this draft. The Ravens got good players out of this draft, sure (I'm not denying that Mosley might be an exciting player), but they are almost exclusively defensive players. Last season the Ravens drafted a safety, an ILB and a NT and now they did the exact same thing. There is a ton of depth across the board in the entire defense, while the offense has close to none. As soon as KO got hurt and Gino tried to replace our starting Center, the whole OL fell apart. Jensen, Gino and Wagner were just not good enough to be starters. While everyone assumes, that ageing players like Owen Daniels and Steve Smith will immediatelly improved our offense, which is not garanteed (Owen Daniels is injury prone, just like Pitta for example), we already know that without them most of our receivers had trouble to make plays consistantly. Not to mention that out RBs are both coming of injuries. So, yes, I don't think it's so ridiculous, that some people are upset, that the offense is lacking in depth, even after the patch up work the FO did in FA, while the defense is several players deep in most positions.
  10. Yes, the Jets also didn't make the playoffs again, thanks to an anemic offense. Maybe the fans had a point.
  11. The defense was not our problem last season. In fact, I bet they would've been top 10, if it were not for the offense struggling to stay on the field. KO is coming off back surgery, Wagner was not good enough to start last season, Marlon Brown showed flashes of talent, but that's it, Steve Smith and Owen Daniels are nearing the ends of their respective carreers. There are not that many impact players as some want to believe on offense and we are left only hopeing, that those guys will come through for us. Hopefully they will, but things seem way more certain on defense, which is just getting better and better, while the offense is getting the scraps (as you said).
  12. Team believed in many players on offense last year and then we had alot to cry about. Defense gets all the attention and Flacco has to make due with the rest and then he's to blame when our offense is underwhelming? I dunno. I don't have to like the draft I guess, it just has to work, but it seems to me, that we've done a much better job helping out the defense last year than we did this year helping out the offense.
  13. That's what we said last year. Our biggest weakness coming into the draft was the offense. That's were new players could've made the biggest impact for the team. Instead we just made the defense even better, which is nice, but you've got to adress all phases of the game, not just the defense. Our team pretty much leaves the draft, the way it entered it. Heavily geared towards the defense.
  14. I understand that the first 3 picks were "good value", but even if they all work out, it won't make a huge impact on the team, because they will end up contributing to a part of the game, that the Ravens didn't have huge problems with. The offense struggled alot last season and that's where we could've made the biggest impact on the team as a whole. I don't think we became a much better team through the draft than we were before it.
  15. I really thought, we could improve the offense past the patch up job, that we gave it this offseason in this draft. Instead we only improved the defense, which was already doing fine such as it was. I guess we're expecting much from the old guys, who are on their last leg and a couple untested players. I really hope that gamble works out for us, because I'm very sceptic after last season.
  16. Welcome to the Ravens defense aka the good neighborhood. Unlike the Ravens offense also known as the Ravens ghetto.
  17. Anything but Kouandjio.
  18. At some point Ozzie needs to find Flacco some help, but the lack of quality safeties is concerning. They just all started flying off the board fast after we made our choice.
  19. A first round pick, a second round pick and a 4 year contract just to sure up the ILB position. That's alot of investments into a part of the defense, that is losing importance in todays league. If Mosley can be that leader of the defense, then I'll be glad we picked him, but I was already grinding my teeth last year, when we passed over Keenan Allen for Arthur Brown and hoped, that atleast we would've "solved" the ILB position with that pick. I hope it's understandable, that I am a bit upset about the pick. I'm still gonna cheer for everyone wearing that Ravens uniform ofcourse.
  20. Joe Flacco will be the only 1st round draft pick on offense, that the Ravens have made and is still playing for the team. Will we finally go offense in the 2nd round? I hope so.

There aren't any FS left, that would be worth a 2nd round pick, imho. That's the problem I have with the Mosely pick. He's the BPA pick, that forces us to pick need for the rest of the draft.

Not like any of the free safeties were really worth number 17 overall. Plus, there are several convert options at cornerback who have plenty of safety experience. Why reach? Get a Jaylen Watkins, Antone Exum in the third to fifth and you're much happier by taking Mosley than reaching for Clinton-Dix

It is odd how much the FO ignored the FS position.

  21. Picking an ILB in the middle of the first round is a little rich. Mosley basically needs to play like a Patrick Willis or Luke Kuechly to warrant that selection. Personally, I think Alabama players are more products of the Saban system and turn out to be average in the NFL, but I do hope he proves me wrong now that he is a Raven. Good luck CJ.
  22. We invested way too much in the ILB position. I was angry that we picked A. Brown over Keenan Allen. Now, it seems like an even more wastefull pick. Why get Joe some weapons? It's not like we signed him to a big contract...oh wait!
  23. With the draft starting soon, I'd like to dedicate one last feed to how much I hated this extended waiting period for the draft.

  24. Waiting for the draft sucks so much! Are we there yet?

Gonna be worse when Ozzie trades out of the first anyway...

With a draft this deep, I doubt there will be many teams willing to trade away picks. Especially for the middle of the 1st round.

I bet teams would be willing to trade up from the early 20's or out of the top 10 to the middle of the first, but not any huge trades like the Falcons-Browns

  25. I'm a sucker for a good redemption story. So I hope he makes the most out of his chance. It's most likely the last one he will get.
