  1. This game has been really tense so far. A very even match-up. First one to score might actually take it.
  2. And people are complaining about flopping in soccer?
  3. What an embarrassing commercial for Jim Harbaugh. He does NOT have the heart of a lion.
  4. Damn, Lebron is having a great game.
  5. First of all, the offense doesn't have to adjust to a backup. You build around your starting QB. Secondly,Flacco was thrown into the starting QB position in his rookie year. Nobody waited until the offense was "just right for him". Thridly, stop it with the "even Trent Dilfer won it" crap. Flacco is way better than Dilfer (it's not even close) and the teams Joe was on were way worse than the 2000 Ravens. We never came even close to replicating that team. So stop treating the 2008-2012 Ravens like the 2000 team, just because they both happen to have Ray Lewis on it. Fourth-ly? (Is that even a word?) Are we sure Tyrod is as good as Schaub? Because I would dispute that.
  6. You're right. The writing's on the wall. Flacco will get benched for Taylor. Tyrod gets plenty of chances during training to shine in front of the coaches. He clearly never did stand out (even got called out by Harbs for it) and he will not start over Joe. Just stop.
  7. Lol, I just got the Seinfeld joke. I guess, it's not the same without the voice. I wouldn't say that. Steve Young, Elway, Staubach. There have been plenty of great mobile QBs, but all them played with great pocket passers at the same time in the same league. I don't see why one would have to make the other obsolete. "Mobile QBs are taking over" is yet another sports analyst "catch phrase", just like the whole "elite" discussion. An argument that can not and will never be answered. In the end the QB position is very demanding mentally as the athelete needs to be able to recover from mistakes quickly and deal with alot of pressure making a bunch of split second decisions. If you have a QB like that, no matter if he's mobile or a pocket passer, you take him. That's it.
  8. Slowest.Takeover. In. History.
  9. Bench the starting QB to give his backup a chance in the ultra competitive AFCN, where every game matters. Hilarious. Those Tyrod topics are like the comedy clubs of BaltimoreRavens forum.
  10. That's very unlikely. I like Tyrod, but he never showed much promise. We won't get any draft picks for him, unless we can accept picks from the Totonto Argonauts for the CFL draft.
  11. I don't think the team is balanced. You've got to admit, that we spend ALOT of time and effort on the defense. Far more than the offense. I know everyone is tired of hearing about the "Boldin trade", but it's a great example on how the offense is being treated by the FO. We traded away Flacco's favorite receiver, whom we could've used last season, to obtain a defensive player. I like our defense alot. We should be atleast top 10, if not top 5 defensively, but you can't tell me, that there is even remotely as much care put into the offense as there was on defense and because of that, I still think Ozzie just expects Flacco and Kubiak to "make it work". Hence my original comment.
  12. I never said, that nothing has been done, but let's not pretend like it's a lot also. Kubiak is a nice addition and so is getting Monroe, but our new C was only the 22nd rated C by PFF (it's not like we got Mack). Keeping JJ is nice, but he's only good for a big play of two and is more of a kick returner (at best a #3WR, probably more like a #4). Pitta and Daniels are good pass catching TEs, who struggle to stay healthy. Daniels especially is probably on his way out of the league. Steve Smith is another nice addition, but we are not getting the Steve Smith of old. For us, he'll be more of a 3rd down guy and that's it. Our offense is more of patch up job, a solid patch up job, but let's not pretend that we're the Saints all of a sudden.
  13. It's odd how many Flacco critics suddenly assume, that Oz didn't have to do much to help Joe in the draft. Evidently suddenly he CAN carry the offense.
  14. If you'd have to choose one Smith or the other, would you choose Torrey or Jimmy?

Jimmy without a doubt or second thought.

Without a doubt Jimmy. I still like Torrey though

Jimmy, not only because I vouched for him before we drafted him. Actually that is it!

  15. Gronk is a beast. Every great QB has some go-to guy.
  16. We could get our money's worth, if we just get some nice talent around Joe...oh nevermind, I forgot we're the Ravens for a second.
  17. I believe, as good as the defense was already, it wouldn't have been too much to ask of them to play well this upcoming season without the FO having to heavily invest into them in the draft. How much more help do those guys need? Meanwhile, the Ravens offense has changed little and Kubiak and Flacco have to just get the most out of that.
  18. You're right. 1500+ yrds receiving and 15 TDs in his second season. Man, he took his time.
  19. Isn't it on the defense? Clearly we went 8-8, because of the defense. That's why we HAD TO invest so much into that unit this season.
  20. I believe he criticized the fact, that the Ravens never provided him with a true go-to-receiver, that most top QBs have and when Boldin became that, they promptly traded him away. He has a point. Joe is heading into his 7th season and is half way through his NFL carreer and that's if we are lucky. Quite frankly, I've been waiting for far too long for Torrey to become that guy. A WR shouldn't take so long to develope.
  21. That's widely inappropriate. Censor your post, please.
  22. Brace yourself Joe, the next one is coming from your right. Nice catch by Marlon, though.
  23. I think the Ravens offense will be back to being average atleast with what we have right now. Flacco had less surrounding him at points of his carreer in the past and still made it work. That's sort of the problem I have with this draft however. The FO seems to go out of their way to fix and improve the defense constantly. I'm just not getting the same impression from their efforts to help the offense. We could've found other ways to get the money for Dumervil (yet, another addition to the defense), but Ozzie had to trade Joe's best receiver for 6th round pick (6th ROUND, I still can't believe it!) and as soon as we made some nice addition patching up the defense, Ozzie spend the following draft loading up on defensive talent and now we spend yet another draft using top picks solely for defensive talent and that in a draft with the deepest WR class in years, where we could've found a young replacement for Anquan. When it comes to defense, Ozzie doesn't take chances, hopes that players come back healthy or just "likes the guys we already have". It's pretty obvious preferential treatment, imho.
  24. It's a good one. He might actually have a chance to make the team.
