  1. The more I see of Sterling Shepard, the more polished and NFL ready he looks. Braxton lacks that. Sure, he shows potential, but he still has lot to learn. We have a bunch of questionmarks in our WR corps already. Will BP work out for us? Does SSS have another full season in him? Can Aiken have another good season? Will the other guys ever be healthy? I think we need a WR, who contributes now and not some time later.
  2. Can't I just dislike him, because he rubs me the wrong way? I kind of like Suh, eventhough I probably shouldn't. I don't know why suddenly everyone needs a good reason to not like someone.
  3. At that point, I'd hope that Ozzie would maybe move up. I wouldn't want another Dez Bryant scenario to unfold, where we just stay put and watch someone else take a stud WR.
  4. Thanks for the info. I'd like to believe that, but a top 10 pick is a little to rich to take a gamble on him. I wouldn't mind spending our 2nd round pick on him, though. I doubt he will remain undrafted for that long.
  5. Some people manage to grow up, others don't. That's why people with off-field issues fall. Josh Gordon has all the talent in the world, which is why the Browns give him a ton of chances, but he just won't act like a responsible adult. The result: Cleveland was out of playmakers at the WR position. A top 10 pick is alot to invest into a guy, who may not take the field.
  6. You can't predict, if a headcase in college will get "better" in the NFL, after you made them rich and famous.
  7. Gosh, Noah Spence is special. I almost wish we had a low 1st round draft pick so we could just get him in the first round. I wonder, if he falls to the second round, but I very much doubt it.
  8. He's still has little experience as a WR, which makes him a project. No way anyone will draft him in the 1st round, especially over proven players like Boyd or Doctson. That's just silly.
  9. I don't think people bring Oz up that much, which is why I wanted to get a discussion started about how much our most recent draft classes contributed to our season. Everyone seems to think, that I am campaigning to get Ozzie fired and becomes really defensive.
  10. Sure! The Ravens made him. I didn't think he could be a starter in the league. Said so for years. But I am glad he made it. He was a good and patient player. Good to see it worked out for him.
  11. I haven't really made my mind up about some of the later picks, but I do feel very good about my top picks in the first 3 rounds. 1. Round Myles Jack (UCLA): Playmaking linebacker with great instincts. (yup, I bought into the Myles Jack hype) 2. Round Josh Doctson (TCU): I love his body control and sure hands. 3. Round Joe Haeg (North Dakota State): Has the potential to be a starter in the NFL, imho.
  12. Yeah, because losing Jordy Nelson didn't affect Aaron Rodgers at all.
  13. BP is basically a 2nd season rookie. He's also a workout warrior, who jumped up the draft boards thanks to a great workout, which makes him a risky draft pick. He has a ton of potential, but we are yet to see if it translates. He's definetly no Amari Cooper, where you just know, that he's gonna be great.
  14. Sry, but picking in the 20s consistently for the last 8 years or so should not be an excuse for any good GM (especially a great one). Antonio Brown was picked in round 6. If Oz is great, draft position doesn't matter. There is plenty of great talent to be found past the 1st round. I remember how we laughed at the Cowboys, when Jerry picked up a Center and we got Elam? Foolish old Jerry.
  15. I wouldn't call it "speed envy". More like recevier envy. Big Ben, Dalton, even the guy that Browns will end up drafting will have stud receivers to throw the ball to. Joe has aging veterans, role players and a very decent #3 WR. It's time to fix that.
  16. I'd give Brooks some time, still. Just because he's new to this league, but I am done with Elam, also. Will Hill is the only bright spot in our secondary last season (I hope we hold on to him). I hope Jimmy will come back strong next year. But yeah, we invested alot into that unit and got nothing in return.
  17. I never said "fire Ozzie", I do think however, that alot of what went wrong with our season this year has to do with the front office.
  18. If Matt Elam can't turn things around he's officially a bust, imho. Matt and Terrance Brooks, a 1st round and 3rd round draft pick, were supposed to shore up the safety position. I don't know, if that's much of a gamble and not more of a failure of Ozzie's part to draft the right guys. We did invest alot into our secondary without getting much in return.
  19. Well, people around here claim he has nothing, which isn't true judging by your post. Especially with Olsen on their roster. Oh, and the Panthers OL looked great in that last game against Arizona. I'm glad Oher landed on his feet. Oz already said he'd add 2 more pieces in the draft or FA. I am impressed by the growth that Aiken showed as a player, becoming a reliable WR, but he is no playmaker. Counting on an aging SSS and rookie (yes, he's still a rookie, if he never stepped on an NFL field) with an odd injury history is risky. I don't see Ozzie doing that, even with his bad history of draft WR. Try and try until you succeed. We eventualy landed Joe and just think of all the duds we signed to play QB for the Ravens before him.
  20. I remember people said similar things about Mike Evans. To the point, that some thought he's overrated. I'd trade our entire WR corps for Evans.
  21. I love the Ravens and I hope they stay in Baltimore, but I do feel like it has been very easy to be a Ravens fan. As much as I hate Cleveland, I do respect the Browns fanbase and their neverending support for that trainwreck of a franchise. Sometimes I wonder how well Baltimore would support a 2-14 Ravens team, that tries to find a good HC and franchise QB.
  22. I know, that Oz won't go with a WR in the first, but I can't stress enough how much I want Treadwell to come to Baltimore. Joe never had a dynamic young receiver to throw the ball to and Tread looks like Dez Bryant Jr.. Everyone else seems more like a gamble to me.
  23. Seems like a fair list. I wonder how Joe will look next season. It's been a while since the last time Flacco had an OC for more than just one season. I'm still sceptical about BP, but our depth at WR was so bad last season, that any addition would help. What did Ozzie say? 1 or 2 new guys added to our WR corps either through draft or FA? I'll be more than okay with that. The Steelers have Brown, the Bengals AJ Green, heck even the Browns have Josh Gordon. It's about time we make some progress in that area.
  24. There are atleast 16 teams in the league, that envy us for having Flacco and another 5 to 10, that wonder, if their QB can do what Flacco did: Lead a team to a SB victory. Again, I don't understand what Cam Newton has to do with the AFCN or what relevance that elite-debate has to our team. A debate that is largely irrelevant in general and is mostly fabricated by sports "experts". What are we going to do with it? Is it about how much Joe is gonna get paid? Because, the market prize for franchise QBs remains high (always!) or are we going to part ways with Joe, now that Cam had a better season than Flacco. Why do we have to re-evaluate Flacco? He's our franchise QB. The first francise QB the Ravens ever had.
  25. Oh NO some other QB plays well, that changes...nothing!
