  1. The 2nd overall pick for a guy to develop is very expensive. Why not get an impact player in the 1st round, who contributes immediately and get a guy like that in the 2nd or even later round? He'll sit on the bench anyway.
  2. Miami still making those great off-season moves as I see. You build through the draft, not FA. When will they learn?
  3. Wow, Brock got paid. I guess the Texans really didn't want to spend a high draft pick on this years QB class. Can't blame them. God, am I happy we have Joe.
  4. Move up? We need every pick we can get.
  5. Yes, we need to. Lets not buy into "we have great depth at the WR position" a third season in a row.
  6. A legit pay cut at that, even if he didn't have much of choice after last season. Yanda just allocated money and doesn't lose any. Still, can't complain about players like Joe, Marshall and Kyle cooperating with the FO.
  7. Paying to stay on the team. Thx Kyle.
  8. Not according to Kubiak himself. Harbaugh is, just like our QB, underrated.
  9. Even, if that's true, we'd still need them. Monroe is not our future LT and if he stays and we don't get a LT early, we're stuck with just Eugene and no depth behind him.
  10. I personally hope Myles Jack falls to us, because I'm certain that there are a bunch of teams who have fallen in love with him. We could probably get a good offer for a trade back in that case. I actually prefer Conklin to Spriggs. He might be there in the middle of the first round and I'd gladly take him.
  11. So now come the "we don't even want him here anymore"-post. Congrats to KO. He's a great player, I wish him luck.
  12. Exactly. The Raiders also have a ton of cap space, so they can take a chance on a young OL player with some injury issues. It won't hurt them much.
  13. We're not the only team, that needs a LT and there is a big drop off after Spriggs (who might be gone in the first round), imho. People really hate, that Stanley might be our pick (I don't, btw). But, if we don't pick him, we're officially gambling with the health of a QB we recently invested alot of money into. Will there be someone in the second round, who can protect Joes blindside effectively in his rookie season (I doubt it)? Are we trading into the second round (In that case will there be someone willing to trade with us and how many draft picks would we have to use up just to get a Spriggs or Conklin)? Or do we just trust Monroe to come back healthy and better than before (even when healthy, he looked kinda mediocre)? That Pacman Jones signing might be more important than we want to admit (that would atleast solve our CB problem and we won't have to adress it early).
  14. So that person claims, that Johnson basically bailed on his old team, so he can move on to a contender? Megatron is liar all of a sudden? That's BS.
  15. Slightly above average is a very harsh judgment of Flacco's ability as a QB, I wouldn't even call him above average. He's a very good QB, just not a great one, who routinely has great games in the post season and whom the Ravens rarely surrounded with adequate weapons in the passing game to produce big numbers. A slightly above average QB is replaceable, I don't think the Ravens can replace Flacco, which is why I have no problem with this deal. There's no one in the draft or FA, who would be able to replace him and those who play the position better than Joe will never hit the FA market.
  16. I will miss him. He played really well for us. I am very greatful for those 3 years, Daryl. Hope you land on your feet, buddy.
  17. I still don't think the Browns will pick a QB just because they need one. They have been doing it for years. That's not how they will get out of their hole. Wentz and Goff are not sure enough picks to be drafted in the top 5.
  18. Your argument ends there. We're not competing for championships without Joe Flacco and we won't find anyone of Joe Flacco's caliber in FA or the draft easily, if at all. There is one Aaron Rodgers, Brees and Brady in the league and their respective teams won't part ways with them. So there is just Joe Flacco and the Ravens have to pay him top dollar to keep him on the roster. Don't worry some QB, who isn't as good as Joe will inevitably get more money eventually.
  19. Yeah, threaten him with drafting Carson Wentz and Jared Goff. That's like taking someone hostage and threatening to shoot yourself, if you don't get paid. "Hey man, you better pay or I don't know what I'm gonna do to myself!"
  20. To be fair, the Ravens do have an excellent history of drafting and developing QBs.
  21. I always felt, that his old contract wasn't just about the SB win, but came because of the amount of success Joe and Harbs had together in the past also. Consistently going to the playoffs and all that. 6 more years of that? I take it.
  22. I can't stress this enough. Bradford got a new deal with the Eagles. BRADFORD. Sam Bradford has been in the league for 6 years and was healthy twice and even when he was healthy he was average at best. The league is starving for QBs. Having Joe is a huge luxury and it's worth to take that risk.
  23. It's Joe Flacco and the Ravens and their playoff run. It's Joe Flacco and the Ravens forever and forever and a 100 years. Joe Flacco and the Ravens running around in Joe Flacco-time all day long doing Joe Flacco and Ravens things. Joe Flacco and the Ravens forever a 100 times.
  24. Joe comes back from a major injury and we never solved that LT position. All we're left with is an injury prone Monroe and James Hurst, if KO leaves in FA. Sounds pressing to me. Also, really good LT will be hard to come by in the 2nd round. Quality CB on the other hand? Plenty, imho.
