  1. Funnily I hate talking about the chances of injuries during offseason training... one of my superstitions. I still want to see how our first round pick, Perriman plays with the full squad in town.
  2. Why are we scared of being hyped? New England gets it all the time and it is parlayed into prime time home games. Okay so we are going to be good; so what we have the best roster. We will still show up, beat up on a good majority of the teams on our schedule, make the playoffs and take a swipe at that trophy. Ravens fans poke your chest out and stop apologizing for having a well run organization!
  3. With some luck a receiver needy team will have an embarrassment of riches at Cornerback or Pass Rusher come training camp. Maybe Butler would be good trade bait. Either way, we'll have a helluva receiving corps this year. You thought Flacco was doing elite ish? Check this out!
  4. Is it becoming an epidemic of some sort that even journalists can't spell?!!! I get it when athletes misuse 'your' and 'you're', 'they' and 'their', and when they tweet 'could of' instead of 'could have', they must have been practicing their sport while others were in class-- how do I spin an excuse for a journalist?!
  5. Maybe I missed something but Sarah I'm pretty sure Ellerbe was saying he was happy leaving the Dolphins NOT the Ravens.
  6. This is the part of being an NFL player most casual fans don't see. We only bash these guys when the refuse to sign low-ball offer sheets and we yell that they should give "hometown discounts" whatever those things are. That said I wish these guys a complete recovery and better luck with injuries in their future! Hunting season is on the horizon Ravens. Let's go!
  7. Ugh... that Rodney Harrison footage at the end! Okay I won't let it leave a sour aftertaste from what was a very scrumptious video clip. Thanks ED REED!!! G.O.A.T.!!!
  8. Okay I'm done talking about Flacco's contract; if anyone feels that man is overpaid then the person's brain is underused. And for Mark Brunell's "QB Tiers", it's funny how middle of the road guys retire and become an authority on who's who. In his own playing days I can imagine he would have thought he was a top shelf signal caller... Oh well, what is that thing they say about opinions again?
  9. For all of those saying Joe Flacco is overpaid please look at Jay Cutler, Tony Romo... and now Ryan Tanehill. Look I don't want to hear that mess ever again. Heck even Sam 'China' Bradford falls into the category that proves you guys were tragically born without a clue!
  10. If you asked me before The Draft I would have been ecstatic at this news. If he sounded confident about the medicine and the science concerning broken hips I'd be reassured. Right now I have mixed feelings, and I suspect management at The Castle feels similarly-- heck, even the doctors have their fingers and toes crossed. Right now Pitta is a bit of a luxury and watching him catch passes in traffic would make me cringe especially if a tackler goes to the midsection. Dennis please take the money and retire; a third surgery might mean you'll spend your prime years limping around your family-- not worth it son!
  11. The NFL should do the honorable thing and reschedule the draft to where it used to be-- Late March, early April, to give these rookies more time to rest and less time for teams to work them out prior to the draft. The injuries will continue to pile on as they have been running drills for almost a year non-stop!
  12. Okay I'm not disagreeing that it is good to catch everything thrown to you as a receiver but didn't T.O. have some of the worst looking drops during his career (and a high percentage to boot). I want an explosive player that would catch 100 balls a season even if that means he drops 14 while doing so (I think that's Perriman's alleged drop percentage right?)
  13. I'm done with Brady; he can win another 3 Superbowls and I wouldn't give a donkey's a$$. At any rate, are those Flacco CDs in Sam Goody yet?
  14. If the punishment for Brady isn't at least... AT LEAST 4 games then the whole "performance enhancing drug" policy is just a farce. THIS directly "enhances performance"; way more than Adderall or any other flimsy medication for legit maladies.
  15. I have to thank John Carlson for the Maxx Williams pick. Think about it, had he informed the Cardinals of his retirement prior to the draft I really don't see Arizona trading back to allow either Baltimore or Pittsburgh a shot at Williams. Thanks John, we'll be sending you an official "Thank you" card in the mail.
  16. He just has to be better than Torrey and we have a player.
  17. Blood and guts everywhere? I like that; lets go!!!
  18. Trading back?! Please, no!!! Bad things usually happen when we trade back... except Flacco, who happened to be the result of a trade back and a trade up... Almost got whiplashed on that one too!!!
  19. Ozzie Newsome is simply a wizard.
  20. I shared the opinion of most of the responders to this blog about Shanahan vis a vis Kubiak-- I also preferred Shanahan on the basis of my belief that he would more than likely stay on longer than Kubiak (who might be a HC candidate again next season). But the more I think about it, the more I think this is a much better fit. I like it when the coordinators are older than the HC. A successful Kyle Shanahan has better prospects of landing a head coaching gig than a successful Gary Kubiak-- The NFL all of a sudden is in love with hot young assistants rather than older, more experienced known commodities. Kubiak is less likely to get into combustible situations with players and coaches than the younger (rumored more fiesty) Shanahan. If two hands are both savvy, I'd take the steady one over the volatile one.
