  1. Brandon Williams is the next Pro Bowl player on this team. I think Jimmy Smith is still on his way back from that injury but he's making some plays... come to think of it, we have studs all over that Defense, the problem has to be coaching. I did not see any play where the pre-snap Defensive formation confused Dalton or Carr the week before into calling a time-out. That shows that Dean Pees lacks creativity. Boy I miss the Ravens Defense!!!
  2. Why are we complaining about the Offense? The Defense couldn't hold two 4th Quarter leads. If we had scored on the final drive and had 20 seconds left I still feel Dalton would have gotten them into Field Goal range to force overtime. Dean Pees needs a gut check.
  3. This has got to be one of the worst cases of settling for mediocrity I have seen. Hear him, "things haven't gone our way..."; no pal, we have not played well enough to win. Own your failures instead of putting them on something other than you. "...We can only hope they win on Thursday"; really? The final line is so cute, "Speak positive, speak life into this team"; you're adorable! Guy, this isn't Pop Warner.
  4. The Ravens have overcome mediocre to poor coaching on Defense for years since Chuck Pagano left with superior talent on the field. Now that Dean Pees has to actually coach and devise schemes the weakness of the Defense is exposed; remember that bend but don't break nonsense? As far as I'm concerned there is no position on Defense where the Ravens sorely lack talent. Harbaugh might have to fire Pees to get that Defense going.
  5. I just hate New England... Actually I hate them more than the Steelers! Ben Volin is just a yellow dog journalist masquerading himself as a beat reporter. Some dolt!
  6. No, better technique and scheme would help the secondary more. When cornerbacks play 10 yards off the line of scrimmage on a third and three you're not going to get off the field too often without the other team scoring 7, 8 or 3 points.
  7. This team troubles me because it could have easily been 2 - 0 with late drives but is 0 - 2. The difference between very good teams and very bad teams isn't that much. Harbaugh needs to get to his Coordinators and get them to earn their paychecks-- Pees and Trestman.
  8. Losses rarely linger beyond 48 hours with me but that Denver loss sure is testing me. Oh the travails of a fan!
  9. Keeping nameless OL and DL players over Daniel Brown? Look we could get any of those guys off someone else' practice squad if we ever need to (knock on wood).
  10. If you needed further proof that the ProBowl is overrated here's a nugget for you: Andy Dalton is a two time ProBowler. Oh, and Flacco has never played in that game.
  11. That depth chart hardly has any surprises. Harbs is real old school; seniority means a lot in his book, and your draft position also counts. Those are the levelheaded decisions that make them the No-Drama-Ravens.
  12. I'll be happy when I know who will return kicks and punts for the 2015 Baltimore Ravens. Ozzie get on your job sir; we know you're real surgical with this b...
  13. ...And the dominoes start to fall...
  14. Tricky thing about predicting a roster is once a guy cut from another team is signed... POOF! There goes your prediction... and the sweepstakes too.
  15. Okay I'm calling it since nobody else will: I'm sick and tired of Webb and his Training Camp "injuries" and then he miraculously heals once camp breaks. Three seasons in a row? That's a pattern. Harbs needs to have him do his own Training Camp work before he can play a single down of regular season football; if not to punish him, but to send a message to the younger players that you can't dodge hard work. Some nerve to come into camp out of shape and fail the conditioning test that rookies who had never run it previously passed!
  16. Thank you Mark Schlereth! There, Chip Kelly, your response...? Silence.
  17. Joe Flacco has this crazy deeply entrenched confidence that I find amazing. I don't know about other Ravens fans but I'm trying to enjoy as much of his career as I can because I know how long it took to finally land someone like him. As Torrey said, keep doing elite stuff man.
  18. I get it when players get ticked off at teams that cut them despite the hard work they put in, and often the time spent at these clubs. What I won't condone is a guy who our team asked several times over a couple of off seasons to restructure his contract to accommodate a team trying to add quality with a view to winning titles and the guy flat out says NO. He gets traded, even thought the team is torn about the decision and he has the effrontery to say he "wasn't wanted"? What would make you feel wanted, $16M per year for an over the hill star player? Gimme a bleeping break!!!
  19. When Harbs says, "He'll be out only a day, maybe two" I often get very worried. Now I know why.
  20. Besides being present and former Ravens greats what do these guys have in common: Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Derrick Mason, Haloti Ngata, Kelly Gregg, Ray Rice, Joe Flacco, Marshall Yanda, Jarrett Johnson... They almost never had hokey-pokey injuries during camp. Even Ed Reed and J.O. had their nerve impingement and turf toe problems respectively late in their careers prior to which they were durable and dependable during camp. The takeaway is the great players rarely have these nagging injuries.
  21. ...tell you the truth; I don't thing the Ravens should have released him when they did (but that's revisionist's history). They could have granted him an extended leave of absence for counseling (or whatever PR BS sessions idiots that screw up are subjected to) like Riley Cooper and Aldon Smith (before he... well... screwed up yet again). That can be paid or unpaid; I don't know how the CBA rules on such time away from work. I just don't know that Bisciotti is exactly the guy to advocate for someone else to give Rice a "chance".
  22. Everybody agrees Ray Rice should get a second chance (or so it seems), then good; someone give him that chance. Silence? I wonder why. Our hypocrisy just gores my ox.
  23. First thing first, Steve Smith has been a blessing to this team for one reason amongst other obvious ones: He has shown Harbs that you absolutely need that gritty alpha dog on your team to win. Now my main issue (and I've pounded this table several times before): Why isn't Billick in the Ring of Honor?! Make no mistake about it; that "Play like a Raven" thing Harbaugh talks about... it was Billick that forged what "Ravens' Style" is. Brian Billick turned a start-up franchise that might have been like the Texans or Jaguars or restart Browns today into a perennial powerhouse rubbing shoulders and butting heads with much older and storied franchises like the Steelers, Patriots, and Packers, and looking better over their existence than other big teams like the Cowboys and 49ERs. Much as I am aware of his flaws: he couldn't develop a QB (wasted the best years of Ray Lewis' career), and he was always the smartest guy in the room (by his estimation), I have to admit that Brian Billick is the Ravens' equivalent of Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry-- he set the standard of excellence that has become the benchmark for the Baltimore Ravens. Put that man in the Ring of Honor already!
  24. Scary thought: So Smith Sr. retires after this season, and then in a few seasons Suggs will hang em up too. After that who will be "that guy" for this team?
  25. That's my quarterback... that's my teammate... (I was sobbing like T.O. when I saw that stuff).
