  1. Well Cyprien isn't exactly the second coming of Ed Reed. Gosh, a tear just welled up in my eye when I typed that name... ED REED!!!!
  2. The Ravens coaches never cease to amaze me. When you want them to play Marlon Brown they are starting Jacoby Jones. When Jones flops you put Marlon in in spurts and then his development is stunted and his confidence is shot. We ask you to insert Givens-- you traded a draft pick for him for crying out loud! But no, you keep playing a clearly incapable Marlon Brown... That is the John Harbaugh era. Tell me one player that Harbaugh has developed; one player that will say Harbaugh built his confidence as a player. This is just stupid.
  3. First round pick... and we wonder why our team is 1 - 6. Oh brother!
  4. I don't know that it is smart for an embattled Pees to be calling out one of the top paid players on the team while mired in a 3 game losing streak during a 1 - 6 season. To paraphrase Mike Shanahan, it is Jimmy Smith's job to be the best player he can be, and it is your job, Mr. Pees, to see to it. So thus far neither of you is doing his job and one is calling the other out... stay tuned fellas, this is about to get interesting.
  5. I still can't believe after we all clamored for Stephon Diggs in the 4th round the Ravens let him get to the Vikings in the 5th. Oh well, our search for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th receivers continues... Life of a Ravens fan.
  6. I was just getting on a plane returning to the US before kick off. As soon as my phone got service when the plane was low enough I checked the final score... Okay, at least we are one step closer to a high draft pick, but with the way our draft picks have gone recently... I don't know. We have had more Elams than Mosleys and that is another scary issue. The entire team and Front Office need serious self-assessment (gut check) at the end of this debacle that has been the 2015 season.
  7. Bye bye Babin
  8. Aiken was open and Boyle should have picked that blitzing player up... wah wah... That play did not lose us the game. We should have scored more points against that weak defense. Josh McCown should NEVER throw for 300 yards against the Ravens unless 100 yards are thrown in garbage time of a blowout loss for Cleveland yet he threw for more than 400! Give it a rest, this team is not being coached properly on Defense.
  9. Okay since nobody wants to say it, I guess I'll have to take one for the team and invite all the negs for this article. Riddle me this: Why are these guys apologizing for basic stuff that they should already know? "... got to make sure we stay on our man and just get back to the basics with the little things". Really? Is he saying he didn't know all of this prior to that game? One week it's Jimmy Smith saying "it's the little things" the next it's Mosley pointing to the same "little things". THIS DEFENSE IS POORLY COACHED. END OF DISCUSSION.
  10. Given the negs you've got here I don't think I should pile on by responding, yes?
  11. This article would have been complete if we compared the Ravens' losses and draft busts to those of the Packers, Steelers, Patriots, Colts and Seahawks. Teams lose players due to injury. Teams whiff on draft prospects. All those issues notwithstanding this team should be at least 3 and 2 right now, period. Let us stop dodging the elephant in the room: The coaching of this team is bad. They have gotten away with it for years because of superior talent on the field. Tell me, who is the weak link on that Defense? The problem is the scheme and a Defensive Coordinator that cannot make situational adjustments to prevent giving up late leads. We can dance around it all we want, we're just fooling ourselves.
  12. Coaching, coaching, and coaching!
  13. Injuries are partially a product of poor play and poor play (when you have good players) is a product of poor coaching and scheming. If you don't draw up plays that get your Defense off the field, they stay out there too long risking injury. If they don't make plays on basic play calls they start to press; which can lead to injuries. When all your games have gone down to the wire and two of them have gone into overtime you are going to be more susceptible than most to injuries. That is the 2015 Baltimore Ravens: Coaching, coaching, coaching. Harbaugh should go to IKEA, buy a mirror and mount it in Dean Pees' office.
  14. Dean Pees is the elephant in the room and the sooner John Harbaugh addresses him the better it is going to be for this team.
  15. The word is out on the 2015 Baltimore Ravens: Hang around until 5 minutes left in the 4th Quarter and you'll have your choice of ways to beat them. For three seasons we have been complaining about Dean Pees but some of the gullible fanbase got fooled by that "bend but don't break" nonsense. Well lucky breaks can only get you by for so long. Now teams are going for the jugular in the Red Zone, Pees can't come up with the answers. Time's up Dean, we want our Defense back!!!
  16. Harbaugh you can fight all you want but if you keep doing the same things week in and week out you will come up with largely similar results. Dean Pees is the elephant in your building and the sooner you addressed him, the sooner your players will get the message that there will be no sacred cows and everyone has to punch in and earn their paychecks everyday-- meaning there will be no freebies, produce or you'll be let go. Babin, I know you heard me.
  17. Okay at last others are seeing what I have said for weeks: This team is flawed at the top especially on Defense. Pees has never drawn up anything that the commentators raved about in any of the games. It has been staple line up and try to beat the man opposite you. You won't win too many games in this league playing basic football with zero exotic plays, blitzes, coverages or looks. To echo the other two posters here, Pees needs to go.
  18. No it's not the strength and conditioning of the team; it is the coaching, especially on Defense. When you don't play well, you press and use bad technique and then people get hurt. When you don't play well you can't get off the field on Defense and then you get fatigued which leads to more injuries. When you don't draw up schemes that are designed to get players in the right situations to make plays and get off the field, they get gassed and then tweaks, pulls and strains happen and boom, there goes your season. It-is-all-about-coaching!
  19. The bottom line is Dean Pees is no NFL caliber Defensive Coordinator. I have said it several times; this team has no Ray Lewis, Ed Reed or Terrell Suggs to cover up for the coaching and play-calling deficiencies of the coaching staff. If you want evidence then answer this question: Who is the weak link on this Defense? Nobody in particular. The team just plays poorly despite the solid talent strewn all across the Defense. It's time for Harbaugh to make that change again-- this time on Defense (might be too late actually but better late than never).
  20. If Will Davis doesn't see increased playing time based on his work last night then...
  21. Yes it is second guessing but that is life. You get second guessed by your employer, the President gets second guessed by the nation, your children second guess you just as much as you second guessed your parents. Point is, we have the right to look back and either commend or criticise; it is the right thing to do, it's called being held accountable for our actions. Missing out "like other teams" is not actually my point; I do not root for "other teams"-- frankly I couldn't care less what they do. If I were a Browns fan I'd have an expectations standard that would be vastly different from if I was a Packers' fan. I'm a Ravens fan and my expectations are commensurate with the standard set by the team over the years. And sadly we have had more Reids than Wagners of late-- don't take my word for it, check the records. As for Jared Allen; A pass rusher is a pass rusher. Dumervil is a pure pass rusher that gives you little in the run game but I'll take that one trick pony any day of the week and 16 times on Sunday-- why; cos that is one helluva trick! The Baltimore Ravens need capable pass rushers to help that secondary out, there is no way around that fact.
  22. I have thought long and hard about this but as much as I've been an Ozzie defender for years I have to admit that this team's problems start in the GM's office and then trickle down from there. Yes Dean Pees can't coach Defense and John Harbaugh is rigid when he should be flexible and flexible when he should be rigid... I get all of that but let's examine some of the recent front office decisions. Please: BAD CONTRACTS Eugene Monroe, Lardarius Webb, Dennis Pitta, (Jury still out on Jimmy Smith and Justin Forsett) WASTED DRAFT PICKS Sergio Kindle, Jah Reid, Terrence Cody, Tandon Doss, Ed Dickson... GOOD PICKS THAT WALKED Torrey Smith, Paul Kruger, (I guess Ray Rice has to fit in somewhere although that is a whole nother kettle of fish) POTENTIAL SIGNINGS THAT MADE SENSE BUT WEREN'T MADE A painfully long list (I can remember yelling at my computer urging the team to sign Brent Grimes two years ago-- they didn't even show mild interest!). I'd like to know if we had the opportunity to get Jared Allen a couple of days ago. USELESS SIGNINGS Marcus Spears, Michael Huff, TJ Houshmandzadeh (to a lesser extent I'll concede)... even Rolando McClain BRESHAD PERRIMAN Oh my head hurts now, I can't do this anymore... but you get the picture by now.
  23. For a second I thought Erik Bedard was calling out Baltimore's favorite son. I was about to scream HYPOCRITE when I realized it was another underachieving surly character. I guess there's something to the last name.
