  1. Would be a good day when Flacco, Suggs and Smith Sr. get on the practice field in Training Camp 2016 and declare: "We're Back!" Would be even better if there are two marquee free agent signings and 3 heralded draft picks there to welcome them.
  2. Is everyone panning the gold pants because EVERYONE ELSE is bashing them? Okay let me say it: Those pants are not half as bad as we are making them out to be... I actually like them as a change up. I think the apparel people chose the worst time to break them out; now everyone will remember them in conjunction with this horrid season. Aiken a number 1 receiver? It's thoughts like that that have put the Ravens in our present predicament. Stop it! I agree with Forsett, Butler is going to be a PLAYER in the NFL; sign him to a team friendly deal worthy of a number 5 receiver while you can afford him. I really wanted Marcus Peters... we all did, but we got Perriman... I'll get on my knees (pun intended) and pray for better luck next time. Top 5 overall pick baby!!! What; I'm being positive here.
  3. The Ravens scouting department stinks. Daniel Brown could very well be on some other team right now with the way the Ravens have handled him... same as Jeremy Butler. Maybe Renner is another diamond in the rough but we will never know in Baltimore will we?
  4. After watching this game I was wondering who does the practice squad scouting and evaluation for this team. Daniel Brown and Jeremy Butler appear to be two of the better pass catchers we have right now. Actually they might be outplaying Givens-- a player we traded for this season and Aiken our second starter from week 1. When you don't know what you have on your farm how can you have a quality barn?
  5. Maybe you should spend some time actually comprehending what you're reading before you retort. I never said his salary was HOF level salary... quite frankly I think by the time you have HOF credentials you shouldn't be commanding top shelf salary anymore (Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Strahan...). Let me simplify it for you; I said only players who have HOF projections... meaning they have numbers that if extrapolated over 5 to 10 more years would get them there. The length of the contract is absolutely relevant (what football league do you follow?!) especially when only a small part of the guaranteed money is applied to the salary cap in the first couple of years. If it were irrelevant teams will arbitrarily give anyone and everyone 10 year deals and cut them whenever they like with no dead money liability. I'm no NFL financial guru and neither are you so please please don't try to go esoteric on me because it exposes you Mr. Naive.
  6. Have you considered the logical possibility that we may dislike Monroe because we believe he is a mercenary? Let me speak for myself here: I believe Monroe gutted out games when he wasn't 100% back when he was on his rookie contract with the Jags and the first season with the Ravens; he got paid by the Ravens and now he is ready to retire with the guaranteed portion of that contract. If he sustains carpet burn from the turf he gets off the field and misses the next 3 to 4 games. No, I don't want him on my team.
  7. If you read the direct quote from Harbaugh on Monroe you can easily tell he is done with the guy, and I can't blame him. Next time guys please do not give out contracts like that unless the guy has legitimate HOF projections which should further incentivize the player beyond signing a huge contract. Guys who go from serviceable to good are NOT worth 5 year deals, they have hit the pinnacle of their career and just want to cash in and go home.
  8. In my opinion referee calls are partially dependent on organizational clout-- you won't unfairly call a game against Belichick and Kraft without looking over your shoulder. Harbaugh and Bisciotti might want to bang that table at the summer meetings to say, "WE WILL NOT TAKE THIS AGAIN NEXT SEASON... OR IN ANY OTHER SEASON HENCEFORTH, GET IT RIGHT OR ELSE...".
  9. Eugene Monroe is the reason why I have never supported the idea of paying someone else's free agents-- especially one coming from a losing culture. The deal given to Monroe is often reserved for Ravens lifers but they made an exception from tradition and are paying an awful price for it. And before someone mentions the deal given to Boldin-- Arizona had just gone to the Superbowl a few months prior to Boldin coming here!
  10. Don't mind the dead money, but please please cut Monroe as soon as week 17 is in the books!
  11. I also had a good week of practice.
  12. When you pay a top shelf QB and put little worth writing home about around him as supporting cast this is what you get. Besides Yanda who else is worth his weight in pesos? Osemele is solid and that's about it. SSS is on his last legs as a receiver, then... that's it! And you guys want to complain about Flacco. You can only make chicken salad from droppings when you're feeding pigs. As easily as we postulate this team could have been 10-0 it could have been 0-10 with significantly more ease; don't believe me, go watch the games again. It's time for Bisciotti to do what he does as a Human Resources guru and get the personnel department of this organization right.
  13. To paraphrase Bryant McKinnie; when you buy a Bentley you've got to pay for the insurance. I don't think Eugene Monroe was the smartest idea Ozzie Newsome has had in a while. He's on the field one play and he's in the training room for two games. Then again he showed his true colors once he got paid so I can't put it all on Ozzie. I just HATE the football side of some of these players. I just knew this was going to be the season when Flacco got hurt. I didn't want to say it and jinx him, but you could see it coming. Oh I'm hurting so pardon the venom, I can't help myself.
  14. Treatment for snakebites anybody?
  15. Well the Ravens will enter the draft in 2016 with pretty much the same needs as the last draft. This team has had no manner of luck at all since Ray Lewis and Ed Reed walked out the door.
  16. Harbaugh you had stupid plays on Offense, Defense and Special Teams. Whenever that happens the problem is traced back to the Lowest Common Denominator: Coaching.
  17. I thought John Eisenberg said Jacksonville won fair and square? Okay, even your own employees can't agree that you got jobbed, after you get cheated (again and again), when this happens something is acutely wrong in the organization.
  18. Mr. Bisciotti you'll be firing some coaches this offseason if you want to get back to winning because Harbaugh won't do it without a kick in the rear end. Harbaugh has this stupid loyalty thing to his friends that are on his coaching staff but that is just wrong-- your loyalty should lie with the person that pays you not the people that you bring in to get paid by your employer. Dean Pees is the second coming of Greg Mattison... oh brother!
  19. Harbaugh this might be good for your career actually. You might realize what you had in Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Derrick Mason, Anquan Boldin... even Bernard Pollard. Choir boys are good if Christmas carols are your thing, otherwise you need 'football players' to play... well... football. And, newsflash: 'football players' often come with type A personalities and large egos. You manage those knowing they are an unfortunate byproduct of success. Now Harbs has this "yes sir, no sir" team where Harbs is the superstar... How's that working out for you sir?
  20. I love Dean Pees: "...if you took away 7 big plays...". Well if you took away the 7 biggest plays against all NFL Defenses I suspect the the Ravens will still wind up where they are right now defensively. Please stop skewing stats and spend that time devising defensive schemes that should confuse NFL Offenses not Baltimore Ravens fans!!!
  21. Remember this was a guy Harbaugh said would miss "a day or two" of practice when the 'injury' initially occurred. I still don't get it; there is something someone isn't saying. At this rate an ACL tear would be a definite career ender for Perriman.
  22. I still don't regret letting Torrey Smith go. He's a nice weapon to have but not a 'must have'. The problem: In 2014 we had one of the best receiver classes EVER and we only got one in the 7th round after we had had our pick and then traded back in to get Campanaro. In 2015 we selected Perriman who couldn't participate in the combine due to injury. I hear he is a very good receiver but he appears not to love the game like some of the best out there. I really don't feel like getting into the Stephon Diggs thing because I'll get angry if I do. When we choose to pass on the entire pool of UFA receivers because we have a bunch of guys who look nice catching passes in shorts. If the Bengals are foolish enough to let A.J. Green get to free agency, can you swear Ozzie will move heaven and earth to make him a Raven? I can't either and there lies the problem.
  23. When I want the Ravens to win they lose, when I don't mind them losing they win... and then lose the one player I least want them to lose. Can they indulge me at least once this season? Please!!!
  24. Get well soon Hall of Famer. I just hope Aiken and the rest of those lily livered receivers learned some gritty lessons from that warrior-- someone is gonna have to make some meaningful catches for this team. I wonder who it's gonna be. While I ponder that question, heal up Mr. Smith Sr.
  25. Monroe just got paid and his wife probably told him to play it safe and avoid any injuries... crumple to the ground as soon as someone gets close to you. He is looking to retire as soon as he can pick up all the guaranteed money written into this contract, it seems. The Ravens need to go back to drafting and signing players who LOVE FOOTBALL. Monroe likes the life he gets from being able to play the game.
