  1. Bryant was very good in 2010, and a complete monster in 2011. Last year he was slowed with a foot injury all year, which you mentioned. He is apparently all healed up now. He is a bit one dimensional but that's ok. I have Ware, Dareus, Long, Acho, and even Wheeler to rush the passer. The only real run stuffer I have is Dareus and with a more athletic LB corps I need another big body up front to keep them clean. He is surprisingly athletic so I wouldn't be surprised to see him put up a few extra sacks with all of the attention OLs will pay to the rest of my front 7 studs.

Dareus on the other hand provides quite a bit of interior pass rush. 13 sacks and 40+ qb hits in two yrs of work. I do like most of your front 7 as a group. Not a fan of acho as previously stated. I think they compliment each other well as a group however.

  2. I asked Viking fans about Erin and they said

He's really good against the run, below average in the passing game. He gets fooled by play action a lot. I mean A LOT. Him and Brinkley were always out of position on play action last year. At MLB his pass coverage can be sort of hidden. Really good at shedding blocks.

Yea, Average is putting it at very best for Henderson. Can he improve, sure, but he's by no means a solid lock on this team past this year, and seeing what happens with the Penn State rookies, might even see him replaced during the year.

His numbers would seem to support this assessment. He had one very solid yr in 2011 where he did well against the run and pass. In 12 he still received good marks vs the run but doubled the amount of passing yards given up. His other 3 seasons he didn't see significant pt.

  3. I would have been happy with the other guy but after some research I think Bryant is better for my scheme. The other guy is better in a pure 4-3 and Bryant is better in a hybrid. Having 2 big guys like Red and Dareus will allow Long to take on less double teams and play more as a Trevor Pryce-style 5-tech.

There are a couple of issues with Bryant. One he has only had one full solid year of production. 2011. He has been taken down with injury in the past and was reportedly slowed last year, explaining his poor performance. Secondly he is one dimensional. Even at his best he is a run stuffer only. He is 28 with 2 career sacks. Now I see you want to feature him as a run stopper however it would be nice to also provide some pass rush. IMO.

  4. I had 24.25 as my average age...A little on the young side but I think we will all be getting more of the vet guys now who have fallen and taking a chance on potential and youth may be countered by production and experience for final gaps as starters..My oldest was Bethea at 28, Kruger and Pitta at 27..the rest all in that 22-24ish range..many of them likely have birthdays coming up so you could probably add a year to the average

You have one of my favorite teams. Constructed very similar to mine so far. Well done.

  5. I love Tillman, I dont think there is any player in the NFL that is more adept at forcing fumbles. It's a real skill that he has mastered. He's also excellent in coverage, but he did show a few signs of decline in that area last year as he let up a fairly high Catch % to opposing receivers, but that could have more to do with scheme than declining skills. I think he has at least 2-3 more productive years left.

I believe he sometimes plays the trail position weather by design or by necessity of age on purpose in order to force a turnover at an opportune time. This style of play also leads to the higher catch% IMO.

  6. Has rookie Lb Greene been taken? If not can somebody post that pick for me? I'm on my phone and it's very difficult lol

Woodyard/Willis/Greene is a nice set of linebackers. Not sure if I would want to rely on Mathis and Allen as my pass rushers because they are both getting up there, but your interior tandem has youth on their side so it could work.

  7. BALTIMOREFLACCO's up. Pick is in.

I know my other player won't make it to me but I feel like I can replace him with a rookie to my dismay. I like Thomas a ton and find him to be an excellent NT. I liked some of the other NT more such as our own Brandon Williams but he's a terrific player.

Nice pick, he has played well with limited snaps.

  8. Grim is picking for him, but he's on so I'm sure he knows.

Good pick with Roy Miller, he won't give you a done in the passing game, but he is a good run defender.

Not impressed with this pick at all. There is a much better nt still available. Also young. And capable of playing passing downs. Came close to picking him twice. Whoever gets him will have a real steal.

  9. Okay why are people passing on Mathias Kiwanuka? I know he just turned 30 but he's returning to his natural DE position and has versatility as an OLB in the 4-3.

Like tuck, it has been a couple years since he was playing at a high level. I would have considered him as an olb in the 34 as well, but I like my choice better. I would certainly consider him over will smith who has never reached the pass rush potential he was billed to have. He started out pretty hot but it has been since 2009 that he's produced a great impact.
