Weird thing is that my next pick might get the most hate from Hawkprey
Matt Barkley?
I understand a kicker but why scobee?
Shocking to see Corvus take a rookie, lol actually I was surprised to see him still on the board as high as some around here were on him.
Josh scobee? Meh, why?
Reed's going to be a little raw at first but I have high hopes in him. After seeing Ballard might not even make the patiots 53 for showing up in poor shape I needed another TE. I wasn't sure who was remaining but I've had my eye on Reed for awhile.
He's got the potential to be one of the better receiving TE's in the league one day IMO.
I think it was interesting gators coach will muschamp was on espn radio this week. I think it was very telling that with all of floridas losses reed was the only player he mentioned by name as someone they would have to adjust to not having on the field.
Gratz was a combine guy if I recall correctly. He wasn't ranked highly before the. Some teams still take the quick and easy road which rarely ends well.
I am a big fan of the deangelo pick at this point. That is a nice rotation you have there with brown. That has the makings of a solid backfield.
Sorry for the delay guys, it's been a hectic couple of days for me. Added Koppen as a temporary solution to my hole at center and to round up my starting lineup. I'll likely be without internet access for the next few days so I'll make sure to PM one of you my next pick.
ProbAbly a smart move to bring in a one yr solid veteran at center at this point then look to draft one next year. Mccluster is a player I like quite a bit. He was underutilized considering his vast array of talents. He has the potential to be a real breakout player under Reid this yr.
Go scrape the barrel. You'll find some stuff. I can think of one off the top of my head. Perhaps I shouldn't say "good" because that's used out of context lately. There are some TEs with a lot of potential, IMO. One of which I'm thinking I'm uncertain whether he struggles due to his failings or the QB. I think it's a combination, personally. Regardless, you have Brees. I'd definitely take him.
I agree there are some nice tight end options still remaining. I don't think there are many if any who excel in all facets of the game. There are receiving specialists and blocking specialists left
Thanks, after I took Mingo I realized I would much rather have Upshaw spell him in the running game and have Mingo play the "Kruger" role on passing downs. Kuechly is solid versus the pass, but not amazing, his real strength is against the run; by contrast Kiko is a stud in the passing game and he can still do a solid enough job against the run, his only major issue is over pursuing, but Kuechly can help him in that area.
I think this move vastly improves your entire line backing core. It looks like a really strong unit now.
He's 32 going on 33. I think it is a bit of a stretch to say he has a good 5 years left and 2012 was a career year for him. He provides some nice versatility though and I definitely like the pick.
Well maybe 3 good years
Probably a smart move to build depth a d line. Idonije has to be one of the bpa right now. He still has a good 5 years left and is playing at a high level now. Posting up an astonishing 37 qb hurries,5 hits and 9 sacks last year.
pick is in and sent a pm to ER20 who's around
ps: i'm officialy a homer lol, but needed some more blocking protection at TE and help at HB for Mallett
I considered juice with my last pick but had to opt for the true tight end. He should be a nice player. Part of thd new breed of utility player who can play full back or tight end. Block and catch.
RavensAllTheDay and my picks are in.
With this pick I am able to move Upshaw back to OLB and pair with Mingo.
Very nice choice for your team. Alonso is a very athletic player who should excell in the role you want to put him. He should be fantastic in coverage. You now have upshaw in the right position rotating mingo who compliment each other well. Very good decision for your defense.
Can we get some picks today?
Nice choice with Conner. I was strongly considering him when I settled on herzlich for my last linebacker position. He is still a young guy who came in as a seventh rd pick. He has fared best against the run but he doesn't emberrass himself against the pass. Nice pick in this very late round.
Playmaker, nice description. I have no clue why he went to Oakland this year. What a waste.
So RayTheDay is up?
Yes. I messsged him. Might have missed him by one minute.
FYI I have free agents pick once bread chooses....ok his pick is in, a player I like alot for his dline. Sammie lee hill.
I believe mark Ingram will be the ideal compliment to vereen in my rushing attack. He apears to be 100% healthy and has only had 484 carries over 2 yrs so he has very fresh legs. He has been unfairly judged negatively due to a lower ypc than Thomas. However he ranked 18th overall with 23 forced missed tackles. He also had the exact same ypc/attempt as Thomas with 2.8. Tied for 11th overall. He also had a very high rushing rating when graded by pff. He was 16th overall. Ahead of such heavyweights as ray rice, Ahmad Bradshaw and lesean McCoy.
Damn. There goes Travis Kelce. Love that pick. He would've been my next selection.
Thanks. I'm glad I took him now. I was thinking height not make it to me. He is the last tight end left who is strong blocking and receiving. I was a bit concerned about his past off the field issues but I am confident that is in the past.
Yeah, that's what I thought too. They want Randle to get as many snaps as possible, not only because he is a great talent, but also because they want to see if he can be a future starting WR if Nicks can't be retained. Hixon was in the way of Randle's development and while he had performed well for them, he had battled injuries and was not really needed in the end.
This was basically my point. Hixon was a favorite of Eli's a few years ago. The giants letting him go indicates, while hixon is a good player, he is limited compared to what they expect out of Cruz nicks and randle. Don't get me wrong though I like the pick.
Horus finally reveals his plan with mallett. Could be the next aaron rodgers or the next matt cassell.
I like hixon alot. He was the free agent receiver I would have liked to see come here. However the fact that ny gave up on him when he was one of Eli's favorites early on is telling.
Much appreciated. Can't say I've totally enjoyed the picks that I've made. But I've tried to get value where I picked.
I'm not overly fond of my team, I wouldn't have gone with the same draft strategy that was left to me (Julio in the 1st, waiting on QB). But I feel like the team can at least compete on paper and maybe surprise some people.
This is certainly not the worst team put together. The offensive line especially is a solid unit. I like the Sendlein pick for center from who was remaining. I also like palmer at the QB from who was remaining. I am not a fan of Mathews in the least, but I understand that choice. Walker is a good player... probably best in a rotation as more of a run stopper, but a solid player nonetheless.
