I was very very surprised Dial was still on the board and I thought for sure someone would grab him before I picked. He can be a nice rotational fill in for any of my interior D line positions.
Lamur was a player Zimmer really wanted to bring in from Cincy despite having Kendricks and Barr. He may start over Greenway as the third LB in Minnesota
The villains select...

Quinton Dial, DT

Emmanuel Lamur, linebacker
Mingo was the other edge player I was thinking about when we were talking about Jordan etc.

I believe he will get a lot of playing time with SSS out for an extended period of time and Perriman still in doubt. Wallace will draw coverage and Moore will be getting the deep ball.
I would not count out Smith to come back and play with the mentality he's shown his entire career. He'll be Flaccos go to guy when he's out there. That said I think I agree on Moore being the guy. The offense is going to be a lot better than the defense again (as long as Flacco is close to his self). I wouldn't count on anything from Permian. Dixon is a back I really like but he's still third on the depth chart in a pass first offense.

Even Martin didn't win it. Yes he's a guard but he had a great rookie year. It's kind of irritating who these awards go to.

I was just considering Ridgeway with my next choice. There are so many DT in this class.

Yeah Fisher is my LT. He's shown improvement and hopefully the new deal is another sign of confidence in him.

I mean the original on comedy channel.
It's not a bad move for a player the chargers are counting on to try to get more guarantees up front. He's not going to miss games over this. And these type of negotiations are how standards are changed. It has nothing to do with a lack of self confidence. More likely the opposite trying to make a more financialy secure move for himself. Maybe playing a little devils advocate but why does everyone always side with the teams over the players on contracts?

Gosh I remember when that was new!

Who cares?
I don't agree with either of these sentiments. But there's plenty of our own fans crying about these things just like other teams fans cry about other things. We're not immune. Also you're up.

I agree here. I always liked Correa. I'm not sure why that pick got so much heat. He might make the biggest impact of anyone from this class. I like the news of him moving around. Almost like a Jamie Collins maybe but a better rusher.

Were not immune. There is an inordinate amount of whining about a lack of respect nationally for the Ravens. Oh and the league is out to get us with scheduling. Both ludicrous ideas.

AJ, daniels, brown, myers, watt, and joseph, ya got me there, but i also mentioned a few of them already as core guys, along with cush, but you also have to remember that watt wasnt THE JJ WATT until kubiaks final 2 years, wade smith is nothing special.
almost all teams have a core, its the supporting cast, depth, and system that makes a difference, houston had a very weak supporting cast overall for most of kubiaks tenure, and the difference maker for houston was the system, thats what made them competitive with a solid core and weak overall roster. look at a team like oakland, or jacksonville, or tennessee, they have an excellent core, but they lack the strong supporting cast and lack an identity as a cohesive unit, thats why they can compete and put up numbers but arent getting anywhere. kubiak had the same situation in houston, that front office could not build a well rounded team to save their lives and kubiak got lemons and made lemonade until the FO needed a scapegoat.
See the reason I listed some of those guys and you agree with me here was the last couple of years of Kubiak in Houston were his best, coincidentally the talent improved making a better more balanced team to work with. To me I want a coach that's going to take a top 15 team (because those are the teams with the talent to beat each other consistently) and be able to win against those teams when the heat is on and the competition very close. Belichick is the master and has done this more consistently than any coach ever really. But Harbaugh has one upped him on several occasions. I haven't seen Kubiak do that ever.

@LosT_in_TranSlatioN is up followed by @rmw10
I like the pick. Less risky than Dion Jordan who already went. I'm happy I got 4 guys I really like early. I may take a risky guy there next round also.
10 minutes ago, RavensPunkXVX said:Really? A TE position at age 31 over a top 5 pick in the draft?
Would you trade Olsen and say Dixon for spiller and maybe Mike Thimas or shepherd?
I'd take that deal in a heartbeat
We're going to need three more replacements then we can set a date.
Went with Starks, a back Ridgers is comfortable with to fill out a nice group of backs. He can be very solid all around as the primary back up to Ajayi with Vereen as recieving specialist.
Kroft primarily a good blocker but can catch when called upon which fits the offense. He's skated to start with Eifert out in Cincy.
Speaking of coached I'm pretty shocked the other D coordinator I almost took is still out there.
The Villains select:

James Starks, running back

Tyler Kroft, Tight End

I have way too much time on my hands today.
You're up I believe
2 hours ago, JoeyFlex5 said:He was the HC in Houston and the team was a disaster and he still produced strong offenses. The good defenses didn't come until I believe his last 2 years where he had 2 straight playoff appearances and one win with tj Yates at qb. Kubiaks track record as a head coach seriously isn't indicative because of the horrible decision making by Houston in his time there, the FO started making good decisions near the end of his tenure where he "magically" turned them into a contender and then when they shipped him out they immediately turned back into a train wreck even though the roster was overall Much stronger.
One could argue that the only successful seasons the Texans have ever had were a direct result of kubiak and nobody else.
Here's a list of just the pro bowlers from the 2012 team (best under Kubiak).
id say that's a talented core and Kubiaks conservative coaching style held them back from doing damage in the playoffs. The opposite of great coaches like Belichick, Harbaugh and Arians do. If it weren't for the even more conservative Bengals team Kubiak would have no playoff victories in Houston.
3 minutes ago, regz1997 said:Yeah that bummed me out. I think you got him late in the 4th, correct? I was hoping he'd fall to my 5th rounder
That sounds about right. After looking back at past drafts I'm really starting to change my mind on the medical issue guys. They just aren't working out and teams drop guys further for this reason than any other.
