I feel bad for Campanaro but if the Ravens are gonna live by the motto: "the best indicator of future behaviour is past behaviour" then they need to cut ties with this guy. Cut him and sign him to the practice squad, he will clear waivers for sure.
Harbaugh is about right @7. He should get a pass for last year, but he has to show more than what he has since Ray and Ed retired. I personally would put, Andy Reid and Mike McCarthy over John. Mike Tomlin, Mike Zimmer and Sean Payton should not be ranked as high. A case could be made for Ron Rivera also.
Jernigan needs to keep the number then in the future when someone asks who was the greatest player wearing 99, Jernigan's name will come up instead of that Sappy guy.
Unfortunately for Jernigan he has a tall mountain to climb. The best player to ever wear #99 currently plays for the Texans. Back to Back DPOY winner JJ Watt. I love me some Jimmy, but he is a J short from being a JJ Watt.
If you look at the only indicators you have to go by, which is college production, then the Ravens drafted a lot of playmakers. Guys who lead their divisions in scoring touchdowns, getting sacks, etc. In fact with two picks we got the #1 and #2 all time scoring players in FBS history: Keenan Reynolds and Kenneth Dixon.
And guess what? Guys with character issues affect you on game day when you're expecting them to be there and they're off on a suspension. You can't make plays if you can't play.
So if I got guys on my board with nearly the same grades, nearly the same production, but the difference is one is falling out of windows, getting caught smoking weed, or hanging out in nightclubs and taking Molly until the cows come home...guess who I would take 10 out of 10 times?
The guy who is taking Molly until the cows come home? Its a wild guess but I'll stick to my answer. lol
JanuaryJoe, where are you?
Jerry Jones is an absolute imbecile. He should have traded with us. Nobody was interested in Zeke Elliot in the Top 10 except the Cowboys. He could have traded back, gotten his guy and with the ammo he would have gotten from Ozzie he would have had a better, more enticing offer to move back up to pick up his QB in the late 1st round. Im glad he got denied. I had always defended the Cowboys, Jerry Jones, and Romo as a good team/owner/player but damn I think he really missed the boat and worse of all is that we pay the price. Ramsey was ours. :-(
Myles Jack baby. please please please. and than Shaq Lawson....am I dreaming....
No, you are not dreaming. You are hallucinating.
Bustshad Perriman until proven otherwise.
Im gonna go on record and say this will be the year we finally get some healthy productivity from Eugene Monroe BUT it will also be the year he will face disciplinary action for Banned Substance abuse (Marijuana). You heard it here first. Its gonna suck, just sit back relax and watch it unfold.
What a waste. Ozzie started with a bang. I know the trend of signing game changing FA can't continue forever but signing Marlon Brown is one hell of a head scratcher. Since the Snow Bowl vs Minnesota I can't remember Marlon catching a ball. That's how long its been.
I hope Ozzie nails this draft. Wish it was a deeper draft. I was looking at the past drafts and how playoff teams have done recently and I have to tip my hat to the Carolina Panthers. Very impressive what Ron Rivera has done since he got to Carolina in 2011. Drafted Cam Newton in 2011, Luke Kuechkle in 2012, Star Lotulelei and Kewan Short in 2013, Kelvin Benjamin, Kony Ealy and Trai Turner in 2014. I am aware that some of these picks Cam (1), Kuechkle (9) were high picks but they have nailed the early rounds of the past 4 drafts. In OZ/Da Costa we trust!!!
Off topic, is that true the bills hired Ed Reed as an assistant defensive coordinator?
January J, I am willing to bet anything Jalen Ramsey will NOT be there at #6. And you could only wish we ended up with his caliber of play with our first pick. Bosa = meh. Tunsil I don't know enough about him to comment. Now we have to wait and see. We will revisit this topic in 4 months. Enjoy the playoffs buddy.
Answer key to the questions below. 1) yesmaR nelaJ 2) snevaR 3) hgrubsttiP 4) snevaR 5) snevaR (answers are written backwards)
Guess who declared for the draft yesterday? Guess who missed out on him 2 weeks ago? Guess who is still going to the playoffs? Guess who the REAL losers are in the end? Guess who will be a perennial loser if we do not fire Dean Pees ASAP? (Hint: the answer to questions 2, 4 and 5 is the same)
Is this a good time to beat the Bengals? Lemme think. Bengals got nothing to play for. Ravens got nothing to play for. No Jimmy this is not a good time to beat them. You already had a chance to beat them and contain AJ Green once this season and you didn't! Please Ravens DONT win this game. It is useless. Bengals are in the playoffs and there is nothing we can do to knock em out. Winning = losing for us. Please AJ have the game of your life this Sunday. Why? Because the outcome of the game is meaningless.
TheRavengers, and the Dolphins also. 3 years in a row
Ive been living in Florida for the past year and a half and finally I have reason to go watch a game in Jaguar stadium. I can only hope its as exciting as the Ravens @ Buccaneers game last season. I had end zone seats where Flacco threw 4 TDs in the first Quarter (Almost 5, but time ran out and the players had to change ends if not I would have witnessed that long bomb to Steve Smith Sr. literally right in front of my own eyes).
Budman, its easy to not see the Ravens make the playoffs until 2017 based solely on the toughness of the division we play in. Redskins and Texans play in the 2 worst divisions so its not surprising that after injuries to Tony Romo and Andrew Luck we see the Redskins and the Texans leading their respective miserable divisions. Unfortunately for us the Bengals have drafted extremely well over the last 5 years and the Steelers always find a way to be victorious regardless of the quality of players they field. We need some serious leadership and talent injection. Since we won the SB and lost our foundation/leadership (Lewis, Reed...) we have only made the playoffs once and if you ask me it was pure luck. We happened to play the worst 2 division in the NFL that year and to top it off we needed some 4th quarter heroics to beat the Brownies at home, and we also needed help from the Chiefs to be able to move on. I never thought the tables could turn this drastic this fast.
Flacco saying he wants to spread the ball more is a direct jab to the front office. GET ME MORE, RELIABLE TARGETS! A 36yr old WR is not enough especially when you play in the AFC North. Everybody saw this coming during preseason. Even Sarah Ellison said her biggest concern this season was that Aiken was not good enough to be a WR2 in any of the other teams he played for, what makes the front office think he was gonna live up to the expectations here in Bmore. Blunder nation.
Im sorry Steve Sr. your farewell tour has been a nightmare. The front office did nothing to help you sail away into the sunset with a SB ring. And Im afraid Suggs is watching from home saying: "I'm gonna rehab my recently torn achilles tendon to come back to this crap???... Nah retirement sounds so much better. I'll save myself the embarrassment."
I wonder where John's confidence in the offence comes from... Regular season game 1, offence didn't even board the plane to Denver. Preseason Game 1 and 3 vs NO and WAS (two of the worst defences in the league) they played decent. Week 2 preseason game against a good Philly defense... another atrocious performance. I love Harbaugh but I can't buy into anything he says pertaining the offense. This team needs to open the wallet and pay for a receiver. Mike Wallace, James Jones are a few names that could have been had on the cheap and we didn't even bother to work them out. SMH. Banking on Bustshad Perriman is gonna be this team's demise.
Flashad???? How about Bustshad? Can you make a marvel comic character out of a BUST! Yeah I can picture him sitting on a wheelchair with an ice bag on his knee.
Fish called Yanda, Denver the best defence in the NFL? They are a great unit don't get me wrong but if you think that is the best defence wait till the Seattle, St. Louis, KC and Arizona games. Miami might not be too far behind either. Regardless if Denver is the best or 10th best, 117yds of offence is offensive and insulting anyway you look at it. Unacceptable. Atrocious. If our coaches don't make in game adjustments and spice up the offensive play calling we will be in for the same snooze fest 4-6 more times in what's left of the regular season. I don't talk playoffs because this team has not shown or proved anything yet. IMHO as of today, Ravens don't make it to the dance.

10-6 might very well take the NFC North, the problem is we play in the AFC North. :-P
