It involves an NFL player, but he won't be getting arrested over it since he wasn't responsible. Apparently, Adrian Peterson's two year old son is hospitalized in critical condition with "head injuries that appeared to be consistent with abuse." Now it's become an "indefinite leave of absence." At least they aren't trying to put a timetable on his return. I hope he's going for himself instead of someone else forcing him into it. Rehab doesn't work out too well when you won't acknowledge that you have a problem.

Is the NFL substance abuse program open to all players, regardless of failed or passed drug tests? It sounds like it would do him some good. I hope this is an isolated incident of incredibly stupid behavior, and not a sign of regular behavior from him. As much as I've had my laughs over Hernandez's fall from grace, I still don't want to see anyone throwing away a career they worked hard to achieve over their own demons...
