  1. That's not true. Ozzie offered to make KO the highest paid guard in the league (more than Yanda). Instead, the Raiders paid him top 5 LT money. Plus, it's the guaranteed money that really matters. Flacco got $40 million, Romo got $55 million, Cam Newton(worse ranking than Flacco this year) got $60 million, Andrew Luck got $60-87 million, Russell Wilson got $60 million. NT Snacks got 5yr - 46Million $24 million guaranteed. I think an offer of 5 years $45 million with $25 million guaranteed gets it done unless another team with beaucoup cap space comes in with 5 yr - $50+ million offer. Glad to see you've finally come down from the "Williams is going to get Malik Jackson-type money" warpath you've been on for several months now... I never said he was going to get that. I said he may want that and the Ravens should let him walk if he does. But it's not out of the realm of possibilities though. Cleveland and the 49ers are desperately looking for a NT and the Browns have $97 million in cap space - the 49ers have $80 million. It's conceivable that they can afford $12-13 million per year if that's what it takes to get the deal done. Nobody thought that KO would get $11+ million per year after Yanda got $7.9 million per. The Ravens will offer $8-9 million per. So, it will take $10-13 million to get him to leave. A desperate team with tons of money leads to some way overpriced contracts (See Osweiler, Brock). Prices go up. People on here still think Flacco's $20 million per year contract is overpriced. That's now the going rate for the Tannehill, Cousins, etc. Stafford & Ryan will probably be the 1st $150 million QBs (Stafford's already talking at least $25 million per).

  3. Stanley - Lewis - Zuttah - Yanda - Wagner They only played together for 4 games last year - the first 3 games of the season (3-0) and the 1st Squealer game (win). The other 12 games was a patchwork of 8 different o-line combinations including Hurst starting (we know how that ends). Joe doesn't need a Top 5 o-line just one that is consistent.
  4. Lokombo is a speedy LB with good coverage skills. Will use on special teams & nickel coverage just like Albert McClellan (who may take Orr's spot or be waived). Basically, trying out to be McClellan's replacement. Foster is a former Marine that played next to Malcolm Butler in college. Good tackling S, good on special teams. Replacement for Elam or Kendrick Lewis. Looks to me that the Ravens are building their special teams roster right now to replace Elam, Lewis, McClellan, etc.
  5. In fact, Marshall is the one WR I think fits our team and cap space. He'll elevate Flacco as a QB and make him look decent too. He has a wide catching radius and makes contested catches in a crowd. S Kenny Britt is the same type of WR and at this point in their careers is probably the much better version. You're going to pay for name for Marshall but I'd rather have the more productive Britt at a few $ million less.
  6. In a 3-4 defense, d-lineman's primary responsibilities are gap control and tying up O-lineman so that the OLB get 1 on 1 matchups to get pressure on the QB. Sacking the QB is a lower priority. That's what made Ngata a very rare and very valuable player because he's was able to do all 3 at a very high level. It's what makes the Ravens so good against the run and it's also why Kubiak's system was pretty bad in Denver against the 3-4 division foes (Denver's run game was as bad as the Ravens last year). It's also why BWill, despite the lack of sacks, is so important to the defense and worth $8-10 million per year.
  7. No. Guards have to pull to get out front of the play, his footwork is not good and he's way too slow for that. He's a statue and that won't work in the NFL. Watched his tape against Cal and he was consistantly getting manhandled by Saffle (245 lbs) & Westerfield (250lbs) despite having 3 inches and 100 lbs over them. Plenty of times he would get a free run at a LB downfield and whiff as the LB flowed to the play. His tape against Washington is just as bad - many times the much smaller LB he was run blocking would make the tackle. Practice Squad material
  8. It's Brady's choice to keep his salary low because the Pats are paying his company and giving them a storefront at Gillette Stadium....I'd take a few million less in salary if you pay my company a few million and help me make millions more.....
  9. He didn't get a signing bonus one time. He's gotten numerous signing bonuses, as I highlighted in my post. The vast majority of his career compensation is in the form of bonuses. He had a $5M bonus in 2015, $17M in bonuses in 2014, and $12M in bonuses in 2013. The point being that fans have virtually no clue what they're talking about most of the time when it comes to these contracts, and they reference cap hits as if they are how much the player actually gets paid. Thus, when fans look at Brady's $13M cap hit for 2016, they ignorantly say "o look, he takes less for the team", despite the fact that he actually got paid $28M in 2016, which nobody could possibly argue is "taking less". That's why fans should be more careful throwing out claims that they don't know enough about. What's even more hilarious and laughable is when fans suggest that Flacco should take less like Brady, when they don't even understand the huge financial gap in career earnings between the two. Maybe when Joe is 40 and has made close to $200M, maybe then he will decide to play for $15-20M a year like Brady does. But given that Brady's also made about $80M more than Joe throughout his career, its seems kind of illogical to expect this from a 32 year old QB. Very few people realize that when Brady was Joe's age, Brady was perennially paid as a top 5 QB, so he wasn't taking any discounts for anybody. He was making $15-16M a year back when that's how much the best QBs were being paid. And it's easy for the Pats to ask a guy to take lesser salary when they're paying his company (TB12 Sports Therapy Center) significant $$ and giving them a storefront at Gillette Stadium.
  10. Well, keep in mind also that Boldin's regular season production was never spectacular with the Ravens, so it was actually quite hard to justify a $6M price tag on him for what he was giving us in the regular season. He was producing as a #2 WR at that point. I don't think anybody really expected us to return to the playoffs in 2013, and its tough to tell what would have happened. We were able to get Dumervil that year, and maybe that doesn't happen if Boldin is on the roster. No possible way of knowing. Exactly. And at the time, Pitta & Torrey were dominating the catches with Ray Rice in the mix as well. Boldin was the 4th option on offense. We also had a ton of Free agents - Flacco, Reed, McKinney, Leach, Ellerbe, Kruger, Cary Williams, Ihedibo that the Ravens wanted to resign. And the following year - Pitta, Graham, Art Jones, Monroe, Oher, etc. Now, in hindsight, it doesn't look like the right decision, however, no one could have seen Pitta's injury and the Ray Rice fiasco. Also, the money from Boldin allowed us to sign Dumervil, Daryl Smith & Chris Canty. I'll take Dumervil's 17 sack season in 2014 (that help lead us into the play-offs) over any of Boldin's last few seasons.
  11. You want to trade away a 2nd, 3rd & 4th to move back into the 1st Round to draft an undersized CB that can't cover a quality NFL WR. If he had the speed or agility he might be able to be a slot CB, but since he doesn't have NFL level of either, he will have to move to S. Because of that, he has a 2nd Round grade on him by most teams and scouts - but you want to trade up and draft him in the 1st. Talk about stupid drafting.......lol Funny how you know exactly what it would take to move up...lol. Yeah there's a general consensus of values, but that obviously changes when things heat up with teams on the clock on draft day. And you are hilarious stating that he can't cover wrs in the NFL outside or in the slot LOL And undersized you say??? Hmm, he's taller than Young, and bigger. And I remember Young guarding 6'6 Eifert 1 on 1 on the goaline from the 5. So yeah, nice logic there. And you say most scouts have blah blah grade on him. Interesting I bet scouts had a 6th round grade on Brady, and a 5th round grade on Sherman, and a 4th round grade on Young. But you're right, we should take a 166lb rb from SD State in the 3rd! LOL The fact that you think he's Darrelle Revis proves to everyone on here what we already know about you.....Yes he's taller and bigger than Young but he's much, much slower. This from the guy that posted that Hester was a great signing and we would all be on his bandwagon. Great prediction there....Keep posting and proving it......lolololololol Yes, because I put I think HE's Darrel Revis. I said he reminds me of him. As in there are similarities in their games. Nobody is anyone else wise one. And it's funny that even someone like yourself, that's "played higher levels of football" still puts so much stock into 40 times. Football is speed is different-foot placement, using your space efficiently, reaction time, etc. And CLEARLY Hester still had it if you watched the playoffs. Unfortunately we were about the worst coached team in all phases this year, which made him look like crap.SO, you failed again, nice try though Hester clearly still had it?....lol And you think the coaches are the ones that made Hester just watch the punt bounce right in front of him.....lol Keep posting & proving.....hahahaha

  13. Rivers has choked in the play-offs in every season for the past ELEVEN years. He had the best RB in the league for most of that time (LaDanian Tomlinson). Add in Gates, Vincent Jackson, etc in their prime. Joe would have won 8 rings if he had those play-makers. That doesn't fit your troll agenda. And since you've played organized football for years, you would know what it takes to win the SB....lol

  15. I don't think Barnett translates to NFL very well. He just doesn't have the length or quickness to beat NFL tackles and struggles to keep run blockers off of him. He's more of a DPR (designated pass rusher) than a 4 down player (like Suggs). Hard to spend a high 1st Round pick on a guy that would only play passing downs. That's primarily why you see him ranked well below Garrett & Solomon. In my opinion Solomon Thomas is the best pass rusher in the draft (Garrett has the highest ceiling but I think struggles his 1st few years - i.e. Clowney). The problem with college stats especially with pass rushers is that 95% of the Tackles they face in college are not good enough to be back-up Tackles in the NFL. Only 1 Tackle in the SEC is expected to get drafted in the top 3 rounds - Cam Robinson. And he may be moved to Guard at the NFL level (i.e. Greg Robinson).
  16. That group of Stanley, Lewis, Yanda & Wagner was only together for 4 games (the 1st 3 games and the 1st Pit game) last year. Not surprisingly, we won all 4 of those games. That's where our struggles were. Wagner is a FA and probably gone, Yanda is going to undergo his umpteenth shoulder surgery. So, yes we need to build our O-line. What skills has Flacco improved? The ability to win games in the 4th quarter. He led the offense on game winning drives in the final minutes against Jax, Oak, NYG, Was, Pit. It's your misguided perception that he should somehow evolve into Tom Brady. He's not going to and probably never will. Phillip Rivers has been in the league 12 years and still can't win in the clutch despite having some of the game's best play-makers on his team. You think he should get better after 12 years, I say he's the same player he always was. Did Russell Wilson get better this year? Did Ryan Tannehill? Did Cam Newton? Did Eli Manning? Did Blake Bortles? Did Andrew Luck? Did Andy Dalton? Did Jamies Winston? Did Drew Brees? It's taken Matt Ryan 9 years to even get to the SB despite having some of the best offensive players in the league in their prime - Roddy White, Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez, DeVonte Freeman, Michael Turner, etc. In the previous 8 years, he's won 1 play-off game. Bottom line: Flacco can win games. In today's NFL that's all you need at QB. And a QB that can win games when the game is on the line in the 4th quarter is not your problem.
  17. Pretty much every team had Perriman on their list for the 1st Round. And EVERYONE had Kevin White as the best WR in that draft. Almost every WR that draft was a bust. Btw, Perriman scored as many TDs as Stefon Diggs did last year. Cheatriots Troll
  18. It would be great if Ben & Brady retired. Add in the fact that the Bell, Brown, Shazier, Villanueva, Tuitt, Timmons and the rest of the WR corps are going to be free agents this year and next and they'll either be gone or the Squealers will be in serious salary cap hell....
  19. maybe cuz he's plays at SD state. Comparing this guy to SSS. LOL. 4.4 speed for the NFL, big deal. didn't even look that fast on film either vs bad competition. That would suck if we spent a third on him "4.4 speed for the NFL, big deal." Elliot ran a 4.47. just saying. Dixon ran a 4.58 for comparison. Yea but Elliot weighs 55 pounds more than Pumphrey and Dixon weighs 45 pound more than he does. They have him listed at 170 now and that of course isn't official. Im not sure if players get measured in the Senior Bowl or not but that would certainly be a more accurate number. THIS is a good reason why not to draft him. 170 pounds is pretty slight. But 4.4 speed for a back is good, that shouldn't be questioned, nor should we ever look at a running back and say "Man, he only runs a 4.4. Not worth it." Tavon Austin was 174, Taylor Gabriel was 167 (going to the SB), Dexter McCluster was 170, De'Anthony Thomas was 174. Nobody is saying he's a Zeke Elliot bell cow but he's an explosive player that can make plays - there's a role in our offense for that type of player. He has good hands and runs good routes. His official measurables from the Senior Bowl: 5' 8 1/4", 169 lbs. The NFL is a copycat league and if you want an offense like the Falcons, you need a Taylor Gabriel.
  20. Revis had 4.3 speed and the best closing speed since Deion Sanders. King is a physical 4.5/4.6 speed DB. He's great in off or zone coverage but man could be a problem. Can handle the Dez Bryant type WRs but the Antonio Brown/OBJ types will eat his lunch.
  21. Calling the shot: The Ravens will select RB Donnel Pumphrey with the 3rd Round Comp pick (for KO). Has a SSS mentality at RB with 4.4 speed. Most rush yards in the history of college football. This kid can go to the house every time he touches the ball......If he was 3 inches taller & 25 pounds heavier - he'd be a Top 5 pick - talent level is that good.
  22. We didn't freeze. We had a trade in place but the Bears backed out when the NFL officials called to confirm.
  23. Pierre Garçon is the type of possession WR the team is looking for. All he has to do is drive few miles on I95, direction Owings Mills. Skins will give a big contract to Cousin so won't be able to sign him. I rather give a contract to Garçon than $8 Mill to Wallace who is not a good team player. The dude creates problem because he is not targeted much. I don't blame Wallace for wanting the ball. No proof he is not a good teammate. Where did you hear that? http://www.sportsgrid.com/real-sports/nfl/mike-wallace-complain-miami-dolphins-beat-cleveland-browns/ "But besides sitting down and chatting with his coaches, Harbaugh needs to get some harmony back in the locker room. Receivers Steve Smith and Mike Wallace are privately pouting because they aren't getting the ball enough." "On offense, the Ravens are an unhappy bunch. You can see it in the temper tantrum receiver Mike Wallace threw on the sideline Sunday..." My issue is that he took himself out of the Squealer game for the rest of the 1st half after he scored the long TD to "get his head right" (not on the sideline - he went to the locker room). Not exactly the guy I want on my team. There's a reason he's been let go by 3 teams already....
  24. Even with Julio being a stud, it cripple their development. Roddy White, Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez - how does that team not win more than 1 play-off game in 8 years with those guys in their prime? You're memory is fading.....Shanahan signed with the Falcons on Jan 18. On Jan 11th, the day after our play-off loss to the Pats, Kubiak said he was staying in Baltimore. The Broncos asked to interview Kubiak on Jan 15 and Kubiak left on Jan 18th. We couldn't have had Shanahan. And Shanahan's offense was horrible last year even with Julio. Let's see how good the 49ers are next year with him at the helm....
  25. Ravens should give up a high pick for the Falcons Offensive Coordinator. Someone who knows how to run and pass. Not hard to be the OC for the Falcons.. 1. Throw the ball to Julio 2. See #1 3. When they triple team Julio, hand off to Freeman But look at what he did as the OC last year - horrible, despite having the same players.....
