  1. I'm very curious about this, too. I've seen no clarification on exactly what this is about. This basically is changing the "10 second run-off" when the offense commits a foul (illegal sub, false start, etc). This foul could only be called when under 1 minute of play. Now it changes to under 2 minutes of play. Nothing changes except for when the officials can enforce the penalty.
  2. I believe between him and Patrick we will be just fine and not have to waste money or a pick on ILB this year. I just hope that they stop trying to slide KC out and let him stay inside, when we drafted him I knew immediately he would fail if they put him at OLB. I dont know if its Pees or Harbs but they have been doing a horrible job with switching guys around so much trying to make them learn everything instead of just letting them do what they have been doing all their life. KC has never played ILB or OLB ever in his life. He was a defensive end his entire college career. He's definitely too small to play a DE in the 3-4, so you have to move him around to find out where he fits the best....That's pretty typical with every team in the league that drafts "tweener" players on defense.
  3. Pollard was cut because he sucks...thats why he was cut from Tennessee and why he hasn't played the last 2 seasons....A safety that can't cover has no place in the NFL. Reed was a free agent and wasn't worth anywhere near what the Texans paid him.
  4. Why cut him? Well we have 6 TEs on the roster all much younger (and cheaper) than the 36 year old Watson, who, if you will take a look at his stats, has had exactly one good season out of all his years in the NFL. What are the chances of needing 6 TEs, or of Watson having a second good year at this point in his career especially after a serious injury? I'm not saying don't cut him at some point but you don't need the cap space RIGHT THIS MINUTE. Gilmore may never be healthy, Waller has bricks for hands, Boyle is a blocker and Maxx hasn't gotten on the field. That really leaves you with Pitta & Watson. What happens if you cut Watson, Gilmore retires, Boyle gets suspended again and Pitta injures himself again? (Those are not improbable circumstances.) You gonna go with Waller & Maxx? Or go spend $5 million on an old Vernon Davis type player ($2 million more than Watson costs)? Watson's one good season is more than Gilmore, Boyle, Maxx & Waller have had COMBINED in 3 years. You have to have a TE that can actually catch a pass - right now that's only Watson & Pitta.
  5. Why cut someone when you don't have to? If the Ravens needs more cap space to sign someone, then they will act accordingly and I can see Watson & Arrington being cut to make the necessary space. It's not like cutting him would give us enough space to get Zach Brown, AP or another one of the top remaining guys. Ozzie will probably wait until the June 1st or pre-season cuts to sign any other FA. A lot can happen in OTAs as far as injuries go. With Pitta, Gillmore and all the other TE injury histories, it doesn't make since to dump what could be a cheap quality TE (that you can't replace for $3 million per) unless you have to.
  6. Maybe with the YPC but there's no denying the other stats. Only caught 29 of 50 targets (58% catch rate) and dropped 4% of those. By comparison, Pitta caught 86 of 121 for a 71.1% catch rate with only 2 drops (1.7%). Most people point to the Antonio Brown stretch for TD play that kept us out of the play-offs, but the Aiken drop, ball hit him in the numbers, that would have won the game against the Raiders is a big one too. After that play, he was pushed to the bench and special teams. Winners make the clutch plays to win games. Aiken is an average WR in the league and won't crack Indy's starting WR corps either. We still need a WR coach not named Engram.....Get us a WR coach with a resume like Pit & NE have. There is a reason that Antonio Brown & Julian Edelman went from sucking their first few years to being the best in the league.
  7. I wonder that when they draft a player, can they put a 5th year option instead of a 4th that way we have a extra year on thier rookie year. Joe Flacco had a 5 year rookie deal while CJ Mosley have a 4 year. CJ Mosley should have a 5 year rookie deal and we wouldn't have to worry about it until two more years. All 1st Round picks have a 5th year option. Mosley does too and the Ravens will execute it....
  8. And you can stop wasting your time by posting this everyday... he's not signing anywhere until at least July. I did you a favor. Putting the back and forth aside, would you be ok with signing Boldin for a one year deal like Detroit got him for last year? 2 mill is small money. No. I don't see the upside. I don't care about 2017. The 2017 Ravens aren't going to be SB contenders, and Boldin doesn't have the capability to change that. I care about building a team that in 2018 and beyond is a contender, and there's no reasonable scenario where Boldin is involved in that. I also find all of this moot, considering there is precisely zero indication that he has interest whatsoever in playing in Baltimore. Why don't you think the Ravens are a play-off team? We got significantly better on defense & we play a much EASIER schedule this year (No Pats, No NFC East) - Bears, Vikings, Texans, Browns x2, Jags & Titans are all winnable games. Cincy lost most of their o-line. Colts, Dolphins, Squealers & Lions are a toss-up. Only really hard games are Green Bay & Oakland.
  9. Jinx...(Knocks on wood)
  10. I believe that we will - there is a lot of depth at the CB position in this years draft... but we also have a lot of needs. I do think the offense could get a lot of love in the early part of the draft and I believe that if a Dalvin Cook or a Cam Robinson is still there at 16 we may just take them. But if not... I can see our draft addressing pass rushers... corners ...wide receivers and OLmen Below is what I would love to see (or something similar) Round 1. Takkarist McKinley - OLB- UCLA (great athlete- great speed and big frame and can get after the QB) Round 2. Tre Davious White- CB- LSU (I think he is the most under rated CB in his deep class) Round 3. Sid Jones- CB- Washington (If he is still there we have to take him... nice cornerstone for the future) Round 3. De De Westbrook- WR- Oklahoma (his draft stock has dropped but may be the best pure playmaker in the draft... he is a steal in round 3) Round 4. Zach Banner- OT / OG - USC (He is a giant guy at 6'8 353 and can play G or compete for Wagners position and with Greg Roman here... Banner will improve his tech) Round 5. JJ Dielman- OT Utah (6'5 310 and a better athlete then Banner - he will compete for both a G or Wagners position- physical and nasty and ideal in Romans system) Round 6. Speedy Knoll- WR- Texas A&M (the playmaker in the slot that we are looking for. Undersized but plays with an attitude... maybe the perfect replacement for SSS) McKinley is out 5-6 months with major shoulder surgery and will miss all of training camp, pre-season, etc. Sidney Jones is talented but very, very few CB ever come back from an Achilles injury (see Dee Milliner) Dede has domestic violence past - Will NOT draft per Owner Stevie B Banner is not an NFL o-lineman - he's big but is so slow, he couldn't make it to the 2nd level to take on mediocre college LBers. I would love to see: 1. Derek Barnett/Cam Robinson/Cook/Ross 2. CB White (I agree..underrated),Adoree/WR JuJu, Zay 3. S Desmond King, Marcus Williams/CB Moreau, Tankersley 3. RB D'Onta Foreman/WR Malachi Dupree/C Ethan Pocic 4. LB Duke Riley, Elijah Lee/C Tyler Orlosky/TE Jordan Leggett 5. T Julie'N Davenport/ILB Jaylen Reeves-Maybin/WR Speedy Noil 6. RB TJ Logan, Donnell Pumphrey/DT DeAngelo Brown 7. QB Brady Gustafson
  11. Why do you say that? Is it because he held OBJ to 73 yards & 94 yards? Or is because he held AJ Green to 50 yards (0 TDs)? Or maybe because he held Mike Evans to 59 yards (0 TDs)? Then it must be Alshon Jeffery's 70 yards & 0 TDs? Jordy Nelson's 68 yards & 0 TDs? Yeah, that guy is no good....
  12. Sorry but nothing beats In and Out... Simple but fresh and always amazing. That's the only thing I miss about California since moving up to Washington lol Animal Fries!
  13. You forgot...playing against Odell Beckham x 2, Alshon Jeffrey, Mike Evans, AJ Green, Desean Jackson x 2, Antonio Brown, Jordan Matthews x 2, Jordy Nelson, Terrell Pryor & Marvin Jones.
  14. Yea your right saying he only had one good season is an exaggeration. I think 3 years 20 mil is probably a good estimate of what it would take to pick him up. Brown already played on a 1 year prove it deal (he proved it). He's going to demand a 4-5 year deal at $8+ million per....too rich for the Ravens
  15. Stanley>>Ramsey.....
  16. Not gonna happen, from draftec.com scouting report- Robinson was arrested , May 2016, for possession of illegal narcotics and a stolen firearm in his hometown of Monroe, LA. The combination of the two resulted in a felony charge. Robinson will most certainly face a suspension, as well as having his hands full trying to prove that he isn't the 2017 version of Laremy Tunsil. Charges were dropped and if you knew the details, you'd know that Cam didn't really have anything to do with that. He had the rental car and the gun was under the seat - his friend actually turned it over to the police as soon as they arrived. There was less than a half of gram of weed under the seat. thanks for giving me the up-date, i retract my concerns if true. I still don't see Cam at #16, but if he is the talent that is talked about the Ravens can sure use a great O-line player I wouldn't mind him at #16. If he was going to be a LT, I'd be worried but he's exactly the kind of linemen you want - big, nasty, mauling road grader. Would fit perfect at LG (move Lewis to RT) or RT. He faced all the top pass rush talent from the SEC in this and last year's draft and more than held his own. Even though he gave up a sack, he more than handled Myles Garrett for most of that game. That incident may slide him down the draft board to #16. But put him next to Stanley at LG and that's a beast of a left side for the next 5 years....

  18. Every agent in the NFL knows that teams are going to overpay their player in free agency especially coming off their rookie contract (if they are any good). No player is going to sign "early" unless you make him the highest paid player at that position. If the Ravens want to lock up Mosley before he hits FA, it's going to take $10-12 million per year. Why hamstring yourself in salary cap for the next 2 years when it will only cost you maybe $1-2 million more than that 2 years down the line? Claiborne is the best available CB remaining on the market and he's not going to cost you $12 million per like the other guys. Yes he's had injury issues but he has always had elite level talent (something Wright never had). His long arms and ability to play press coverage gives the Ravens something they don't have anywhere on the roster now. He's not without warts but it gives the Ravens some experienced depth and also allows a little more flexibility in the draft (ideally, they still get a CB in round 1 or 2).
  19. I have a feeling they are going to go with KC to play next to Mosley. We don't have the money to sign Brown anyways. Peanut is everything you want in a ILB - hits really hard and is a converted safety that was a playmaker at that position. He filled in well for Orr in the last game against Cincy. You need a ILB that can cover to play off Mosley. KC is not that - he's a edge setter, Jarrett Johnson type with some pass rush skills. KC will probably play opposite Suggs on running downs and Judon will come in on passing downs (taking over the Dumervil role). Zach Brown would be nice but he's gonna cost you $5 million per year. Not a bad number but I think the Ravens would be better off signing a CB with that money. Quality ILB are much easier to find than quality CB especially when you have a stud ILB already in Mosley.
  20. dean pees cost us in the 4th qtr by going into prevent defense when we have leads. wish we had gotten gus bradley or someone that is aggressive and shows no mercy like marvin lewis in 2000. So what defense would you call if the other team's offense lines up 4-5 WR and you know they're going deep? You going to cover them all 1-on-1 and have Weddle try to cover a slot WR by himself? Cover 6 is a typical 3rd & long defense - it's not prevent - which is what the Ravens typically ran in the 4th quarter. Pees blitzed 4 times in a row against the Squealers on that final drive - it didn't matter - why? cause the players didn't make plays. No pass rush, blitzer didnt pressure the QB, not good coverage by the corners. I don't care what defense you call, Wright couldn't cover Antonio Brown for a half second. The Browns call the same pass plays as the Patriots - so what's the difference? Brady vs Scrub QB is the difference.
  21. Peanut is all that you want in a ILB - hits really hard, sure tackler and is a converted safety, so he can cover - don't sleep on him.
  22. You think paying Flacco $4 million more than the average scrub QB is a bad contract but paying a Guard top LT money and $4 million more than Yanda is a good deal? And now you think paying a NT $10+ million is a good deal too? But it's Ozzie that should be fired right? SMH
  23. I think this is a no-brainer. I don't care that he's a speedster like Wallace. He's not going to cost you $10 million+ like Garcon & Marshall and the way Wallace disappears in big games - there's plenty of room for Torrey on this team. Plus Wallace is gone after this year (if not sooner) - the Ravens could easily lock up Torrey for the next 3 years on a friendly deal. He already got paid and would definitely look to come home.
  24. Better than that $100 million CHOKE artist NFL MVP Matt Ryan who has NEVER won a clutch game EVER including college.....I'll spend $20 million more for a guy that wins over a guy that never wins. And the going rate for a starting QB is $20 million per (about to be $25-30 million per year once Stafford, Carr, Ryan, Mariota sign their new contracts).
  25. Also, to expand on that just a tad. I always found it hypocritical that a college athlete cant make a single cent for his name while in college but yet a English Lit major could go write a book and become a millionaire while in school... A $100,000 scholarship is more than a single cent.
