  1. Just ran across this article on Torrey Smith - kinda explains a lot actually especially about the pass in the Pats game last year. "We're working, trying to get on the right track," Smith said. "Just little things; he has to learn my body language. I think I kind of spooked him in the beginning with my body language because I always tell him I don't look back. I know the route, I know where the ball's supposed to be. I'm not looking up until I have to." http://sfo.247sports.com/Bolt/49ers-WR-Torrey-Smith-taking-to-his-new-surroundings-38871308
  2. We talkin bout practice!
  3. The difference is that guy is a dance choreographer dressed up like a football player....still got moves though
  4. Halas has only been inducted once (1963) as a founder, coach, owner but not as a player....
  5. No, just like Ray Rice & Adrian Peterson, Brady cannot play until the court makes their decision (basically overturning the suspension). Until that time, he's at home (insert joke here).
  6. Waaaaahhhhhhh....Don't cheat and there won't be any. The issue is that the Pats tried to cover it up and didn't cooperate with the league investigation. And Robert Kraft did his best Rafael Palmiero impression pointing his finger and emphatically denying taking steroids. If you're going to posture like a typical Boston Diva, you can't get mad when you get called on it. Yeah, we all believe that the equipment manager was nicknamed "deflater" because he lost weight. PansyStrong!
  7. Because all O-linemen are grouped together, using the tag on Yanda or KO would mean paying them the avg salary of the top 5 LT - that's $13 million. No Guard, even Yanda, is worth that kind of money. The highest paid guard is Mankins at $8.5 million avg per.
  8. On break for the 4th of July holiday. It was in the last article.
  9. I agree. Trestman also had to rely on Jay Cutler - who couldn't hit the side of a barn...from the inside. About the only accurate pass he can throw is the short dump off to the RB in the flat.
  10. "Play like a Raven" starts all the way at the top.....
  11. Torrey Smith's hands were "so bad" in training camp the Ravens traded for Lee Evans to start over him. Slow news day....
  12. So you must think that Adrian Peterson and Dez Bryant are the greatest RB & WR ever, Right? Cause Jerry Rice, Jim Brown, Walter Payton, etc are in the past.... And I guess you think JJ Hardy is the greatest SS the O's ever had too.....
  13. Jay "Coach Killer" Cutler - took the title from Jeff George....
  14. The Ravens have only carried 4 TE, once in the last 15 years and no team in the NFL has carried 4 TE since the Packers in 2011
  15. In order to go on the PUP list, a player has to miss the entire training camp and pre-season. If he practices with the team one time, he is not eligible. My guess is that Camp will start on the Pre-season PUP and if he doesn't improve or re-injures then he will go to the Regular Season PUP. More than likely, injuries are going to happen and will settle this (Robinson already injured and the pads haven't went on yet). But I agree that Camp is probably not going anywhere. Carter is an easy stash on the practice squad. The bigger position battle to me is at TE. If Pitta is healthy, who do you cut (as the Ravens won't keep 4 TE on the roster)?
  16. Schaub's arm is done (remember all the pick 6s with the Texans that he threw). When a QB loses his starting jig to an undrafted rookie, gets traded, then loses his job to a rookie draft pick, you know there is not much left in the tank. Solid back-up but if something happens to Flacco, kiss our play-off chances goodbye.
  17. Bose is a great tackling LB, should be good for special teams. DePriest showed that he obviously rode Mosley's coattails. Like having the hometown guy on the team. With Za'Darius Smith as a back-up OLB, Bose could replace McClellan on special teams and save the Ravens $1 million in salary cap space.
  18. 3rd and goal: Maxx breaks the huddle and lines up outside. The Squealers Safety comes up in man coverage. As Joe Cool starts his cadence, a chant rises up from the crowd...."two men enter, one man leave! Two men Enter, One Man Leave! TWO MEN ENTER, ONE MAN LEAVE!" Joe drops back, throws the jump ball, Mad Maxx and the safety go up for it.......
  19. That doesn't mean a thing. Did you know that K Phil Dawson is the 20th highest scorer in the history of the NFL ahead of EVERY QB, WR, RB, TE, etc. You think he's more valuable than Joe Montana? Jerry Rice? Jim Brown? Walter Payton? or EVERY Raven to ever play? The Top 31 are all kickers and there's only 2 non-kickers in the Top 50. Morten Anderson has more points than Jerry Rice & Emmitt Smith COMBINED. Still think it's a Valuable stat?
  20. I hope we re-sign Tucker too but let's put it in perspective. He was the 16th ranked K last year in FG% (85.3%). Right now, you could sign the most accurate college kicker last year for the rookie minimum and save salary cap space. I'm not saying that's the right way to go, but if Tucker wants $4 million per year, its time to move on. Yanda will be 31 this year. Sure he's been the top G in the NFL the past few years but at some point, sooner than later, age will catch up to him - most guards wear down at age 32. IMO, he can be replaced with a younger player (Urschel, Quadzilla, etc) or a cheap vet. Yanda knows this will probably be his final contract, so he's looking to max it out. Ask Ngata what it's like to play "chicken" with Ozzie.
  21. I think they are all gone. The Ravens usually keep 8 O-linemen. With the starting 5 plus Urschel, Hurst & Jensen. You also have to factor in Quadzilla. I think it comes down to keeping 1 of Jensen, Quadzilla, Baldwin, Jah Reid, Clausell or Easton
  22. Yes, it seems like it may come down to Carter vs Camp. With the secondary woes of last year, I don't see the Ravens keeping 7 WRs. The 6 to me are - SSS, Perriman, Marlon, Aiken, Waller and then a choice between Camp/Carter with Butler on the outside looking in. Love Camp's heart and toughness but hard to choose that over Carter's speed and quickness. Also, there's always the pre-season "injury" that puts a guy on IR
  23. Check your facts. He ran a 4.58 and had the best 3 cone time. Carlos Hyde & Jeremy Hill ran a 4.66. In fact, he was almost exactly like West in all combine measurables. I'm sure the scouts and FO did their homework (by studying coaches film, not pulling up a clip on YouTube) unlike some on this board. But his biggest asset is that he played in a zone scheme very similar to the Ravens. A Ferrari is better than a Ford pick-up unless you have to haul a ton of bricks while pulling a boat.
  24. I think the biggest thing that people are missing about this draft is that we got a franchise LT in Eugene Monroe in the 4th Round.
  25. Defense wins championships.
