  1. Brent Urban missed all of last year with a sprained knee....
  2. Many criticize Ozzie, Harbaugh and the FO for drafting high character players over highly skilled ones. Just look at the difference between the Ravens locker room and the Cowboys locker room. Ravens players rally around each other....Dez & Hardy (extremely talented, zero character) and the rest of that team is imploding and pointing fingers. So next time the Ravens pass on a DJ Swearinger, Tyrann Mathieu or Dorial Green-Beckham, that is why.
  3. Givens is a one trick pony. He can run a great 9 route. Don't get me wrong, the Ravens really need that but Givens will never be a #1 WR. He does NOT go over the middle (plays scared - looking for hit, alligator arms, etc), he's easily jammed at the line and he does NOT run block. Still a good pick-up and can definitely help this team, but he's not the WR many on here make him out to be. Brown is a much better run blocker - which is why he leads in offensive snaps (and probably will continue to).
  4. It takes hard work, everyday to make it in the NFL. Some young guys don't make that commitment right away (or never). It's easy for a young player to get drafted, have a pocketful of money, hang with your boys and not put in that hard work everyday. Word is he showed up not in shape in Cleveland, didn't put the work in to get into shape and didn't take learning the playbook seriously. Tennessee gave him a chance but if you play 2 games and have 2 fumbles in 16 carries, that's not going to endear you with the coaches. Also, looking back, having Bernard Pierce as your mentor may not have been the wisest choice.Hopefully it's just a maturity issue and he will get his head right or he ends up as just another tale of wasted talent.
  5. Probably the best post I've read anywhere on this subject.
  6. I'd rather see him playing corner in the slot - can't do much worse than Kyle Arrington Looks like Ed Reed, plays like Donna Reed
  7. It's not a degenerative disease. It's a disease that only affects kids while their bones are growing. Once fully grown, no issues. Despite the misinformation or propaganda that's been cut & paste on here, his injury is NOT related. From Dr. Bobby Esbrandt, PT, DPT, PES ( a local sports therapist). "The pain symptoms associated with Osgood-Schlatter's resolve on their own once the adolescent stops growing and reaches skeletal maturity. Given Perriman's age (nearly 22) and impressive stature (6'3", 210 lbs), I think it's safe to say he doesn't have another growth spurt left in tank. It is important to understand that this is NOT a lifelong issue and Perriman's current injury and extended absence from practice is completely unrelated. The ONLY lingering side effect into adulthood is the presence of a more prominent tibial tuberosity."
  8. Good PR. This is a business after all. Since you are not putting a winning team on the field, might as well buy some good fan relations bringing in a hometown guy. He has to work on his serious fumbling issues but not a bad signing for depth purposes.
  9. Basically a college track star turned into kick & punt returner.
  10. Why would we want to make the play-offs with this defense only to get knocked out in the wild card game. Ray Lewis, Suggs & Reed have not played one single game together this year. And we would have to beat Tom Brady in his house, then Peyton Manning in his house then go against the #1 defense and hottest team in the NFL - the 49ers. ~ 2012
  11. Jack the Ripper's true identity just revealed and it's.....Justin Tucker? http://www.newsmax.com/TheWire/jack-the-ripper-francis-thompson-poet-suspect/2015/11/06/id/700870/
  12. Or a better answer is because of the pressure of two of the best pass rushers in the league - Von Miller & DeMarcus Ware coupled with two of the best CB in the league - Harris & Talib. Heck, Ryan Mink could look good playing safety on that defense.
  13. Makes me wonder, the Ravens struggle at finding and developing WR & DB. Both position coaches are former players with little or no previous NFL coaching experience. Whereas, the Squealers & Pats have WR coaches with a long track record. Same with the Cards & Seahawks' DB coaches. Step up your game Chris Hewitt or its time to find a Secondary coach with some previous NFL coaching experience or at least HOF type playing credentials (Ed Reed anyone?)
  14. That's not accurate. San Diego never got the ball back. And you forgot how we drove down the field in the first place - by throwing the ball. It was working. Sure, you could of tried to slam the ball forward for a couple of yards (against a stacked box) which would have made it a 50 yard FG for Tucker, who has struggled at M&T and was playing into the wind. The fumbled snap took you out of FG range, so you had to throw the ball twice (and SD used their 2nd TO after the fumble). I guess you also forgot about the two runs after the PI penalty - you know, the ones that resulted in "no gain" and 1 yard. SD was playing the run the whole time.
  15. Running the ball for the sake of saying you ran the ball is not very smart. Neither is running the ball against 8-9 players in the box using run blitzes. That's what every team that plays us is doing. You can't keep a defense "honest" when they know you have no WR that can get open against single coverage. Stack the box, eliminate the run and make Kamar Aiken beat us - that's the philosophy of our opponents. Running 40 plays against a stacked box will get you nowhere (why do you think the Average Yards Per Carry is so low?). It worked in 2014 because you had Torrey & SSS and safeties had to play back.
  16. Jacoby = the Raven's Trojan horse. He will "accidentally" fumble every punt in the Ravens vs Squealers game.....lol
  17. I agree. And that's assuming Jacoby still has speed - he's 31 years old and speed is the 1st to go. He hasn't shown any game-breaking ability in 2 years, so maybe the speed is gone. Add in bad hands and I'll pass. I think it's telling that the Chargers released him when Keenan Allen went down. If he had anything left in the tank, you'd think that a team hurting for WR would give him a chance to produce more, instead they cut him for a practice squad WR.
  18. Yeah, it's sad when your best highlight is a catch from 3 years ago with blown coverage by the secondary.
  19. I don't agree. Every team hits and misses. You failed to mention that Ozzie "hit" on SSS, Dumervil, Will Hill, Justin Forsett, Lawrence Guy, etc. Those moves are not "pretty bad", in fact, I would say they are pretty impressive. We picked up Forsett "off the street". Crabtree only wanted a 1 year "prove it" deal. Marshall is a 31 year old WR making $9 million per. Tate is not worth $6 million per and Shorts (at $3 million per) is no better than Aiken ($ minimum). Injuries happen in the NFL. If this team had a healthy Pitta, SSS, Perriman then this would be a non issue. The Ravens are handcuffed with over $25 million in dead money - that's almost 20% of available money. That's why we are signing guys off the street to replace injured guys. Even if you were to trade for a guy, you still have to fit him under the cap. Which 6 guys do you cut to fit Boldin's $7 million salary? McClellan is the only "bubble" guy that would save $1 million (the highest total) if you cut him - you only have 6-7 more guys to cut.
  20. I'd rather give up 5-8 yard easy receptions than 60 yard TDs because our corners can't press and our safeties can't cover over the top (Will Hill I'm talking about you). And the corners play off because we have to blitz so much to get any pass rush at all.
  21. Give the guy a break. A typical non-operative PCL injury is 6-12 months recovering time. Anyone expecting him back sooner than January is foolish. Labeling a player a "bust" because he got hurt is also foolish. Dante Fowler, Leonard Williams, Kevin White, Breshad Perriman, Devin Smith, Cedric Ogbuehi, DeVante Parker, Shane Ray, David Cobb, Jay Ajayi, etc are not "busts" because they got injured.
  22. Still a ton of football left to be played. Right now the Jets are the 2nd wild card team at 4-3. That's only 2 games. You're talking about 5 games at home (against shaky talent - cept Seahawks), 2 on the road against Cleveland & Miami and a final game against the Bengals in which they rest their starters. Jets, Raiders & Squealers (wild card teams) all have a much harder schedule. Any. Given. Sunday.
  23. Re-read the article. "Suggs was immobilized for at least six weeks after his surgery, which means he wouldn’t have been able to move until about now,"
  24. I agree. They couldn't get open in Baltimore and they can't get open in San Fran. I'd rather pay Aiken & Brown $500K to not get open than to pay Torrey & Boldin $14 million not to get open. For the record, Aiken has 9 more catches than Torrey. You can save the Flacco vs Cap argument - DeAndre Hopkins & Brandon Marshall still put up numbers despite having some of the worst QB play in the NFL. The fact that SF wants to trade both guys just after signing them shows that they are both WAY overpaid for their ability. And I would rather have SSS than Boldin any day (we wouldn't have signed SSS if Boldin didn't leave).
