  1. " Ravens Have To Be ‘Alarmed’ By Inability To Run "

The Ravens have to be alarmed by a lot of things. The O-line, the secondary, Flacco's apparent scare of contact, the total lack of creativity and the surprise element - thus total predictibility - of the offensive play calling... you name it.

In the NFL things may go north or south week by week... What looked terrific today may be a total failure the next week (see Shareece Wright) and vica versa. So, the fact that the Ravens currently have a lot to worry about doesn't mean these problems won't be fixed - and maybe even soon. Also, we are extremely lucky with the schedule... these problems may get fixed by the time the really rocky games come...

But RIGHT NOW this isn't a playoff caliber team. Easily the worst team of the NFL has made play on us making it look insultingly easy. Also, this really bad team with a hurt backup QB came this close to beating us. If this isn't a cause for concern, I don't know what is. Concern, not panic of course. But still. Let's not pretend that being 2:0 is the only thing that matters... These first two games were like a prolonged pre-season.

2-0 is the only thing that matters. Just win baby!

  2. we can spin this anyway we want to, but I'll tell you this much. Getting down to a Cleveland Browns offense that is really average at best by 20 points in the first quarter is really terrifying. I understand we came back and won the game, but what does it really prove? That we can come back from a deficit and win? Perhaps, but it also tells every other team that you can run big on the Ravens and score 20 points in a quarter too! All in all, I am very disappointed in how we won this game against possibly the worst team in the NFL. People may not like me saying it but it is exactly how I feel. There is an empty feeling despite the win.

Well enjoy your empty feeling. Al Davis said it best: "just win baby!".

  3. first off,I've watched NFL TOTAL ACCESS for years and we get mentioned about twice a season, the SKINS and BROWNS,about twice a show.secondly, why were we told how well our offensive players were doing and WATCH OUT! for our new DYNAMIC,QUICK passing game, were they mistaken and really were watching PITTSBURG? FLACCO played slow and indisisive as you'd think WENTZ would of.FLACCO showed every reason why fans have been frustrated for many years, including the SUPERBOWL run where other than a few games he didn't play all that well, again it was mostly our defense that carried us.then a guy comes in like JOSH JOHNSON,quick, decisive and accurate, yeah against second team players, but not always, remember? the traits listed above carried over every snap,of course he's gone and were left with two of the same QB.'S to me FLACCO was only great when they just let him manage games, like a ALEX SMITH type, left on his own he's indicisive and a mediocre mid of the pack qb.as the numbers show,ELITE? never,I know all the fans are wrong and the RAVENS are always right.i don't see where he's elite enough to make up for a now less than all pro offensive line we gambled away.i often wondered if we took a chance on BREES when few teams wouldn't on his shoulder where we'd be the last few years.yes,i'm old and grumpy, mabey i don't have the time to wait around to see the improvment thats always promised, buts always the same, mediocre QB. play.

Doesn't sound like a suggestion to me. The "rumor" the moderator was complaining about, that Forsett would be re-signing, was all over the internet this morning. Would you want the person posting the "rumor" to cite hundreds of sources. No, i didn't think so. Nuff said.

    No, one would suffice.

Sorry if your feelings were hurt, but then it wasn't even your post in the first place. Thanks for looking out for everyone.

That's what i do. Checks and balances.

I don't see anything in the rules which requires a person to "always cite your source" when posting. Are we now making up new rules on the fly and criticizing people when they don't follow these new rules that no one knows about????

The reply to your post merely stated: "If you're going to post "news", always cite your source.  Otherwise you're just starting a rumor."

Sounds a bit more like a suggestion for best practice than "criticism". Was your uncited claim deleted? No, it was not. That would indicate that it didn't violate a Golden Rule. If you post some "fact", one would presume that you got it from somewhere. Is it that hard to post something about where you heard it????

SiZZZZZZZLLLLLLEEEEEEE!!! I AM SHOCKED HE IS BACK BEFORE DOOM!

Taliafarro is as good as cut now. He may be able to beat Buck out, but one of them will be gone. And as far as Perriman goes, he is a Unicorn, Big foot....I hear about it , people swear they exist, but I never seen it.

The interesting question, if our RB's continue to deliver is whether Forsett could be traded for a nice loot. That 1,366 yard Pro Bowl season is a nice calling card... It would be great to have him in purple - but if he can be converted for a good draft pick or two - or a good player for a position we are leaner on, that would be great too.

No team is trading two good draft pics for Justin Forsett. Nuff said.

(Mark my words, some team will try to lure him back to play if their starting tackle goes down. Some teams will tolerate anything (Cowboys) for questionable players.)

The awkward thing with all the above posts is that Monroe had serious interest from at least five to six teams and we know for certain that the 49ers, Seahawks, and Giants wanted him.

If he truly was only about the money, he'd have signed with the Seahawks for a good amount to play LT.

He would rather smoke pot than play ball which is why the Ravens drafted Stanley and cut him. Good move by the Ravens.

Monroe never complained about concussions before and from what i've read doesn't have a history of concussions. That said, he will be able to smoke all the marijuana he wants to now. Thank god for Ronnie Stanley.

He suffered his first concussion at age 11 and suffered one last year. There's 18 years inbetween there where he could have.

Not all players have to be vocal about injuries.

The pothead claims he had a concussion when he was 11 on the first day he played ball. OK, I believe him. NOT.

  9. Monroe is gone and thank God for it. Here's why. I truly don't believe Monroe would've played more than a few downs had we retained him. He would have feigned an injury and sat down resting his body while collecting free money. I don't think he was able to negotiate a contract that was guaranteed in any manner and that's why he retired. He may just be a charlatan after all. The fact that he comes up with these concussion stories tells me he is setting himself up for a payday from the NFL and is doing all the due diligence he needs to to make sure he will be handsomely compensated when that happens. I am just thankful that we were able to see through this phony and get rid of him. Sorry for the diatribe and this is just my opinion.

Gotta agree with you here. He's a total phony. Now he's claiming he had his first concussion when he was 11 years old on his first day of playing football. Give me a break. The quote in the article is very telling: "This is very new,” Monroe said. “I've been released and it's been just a short amount of time since that's happened, so I'm weighing my options right now. I don't feel like I have to jump on one of the first opportunities that come up. And I'm just trying to be patient, wait on the right opportunity and also just decide what's going to be the best move for my family. I have a wife and three children, so there's a lot more at stake than just jumping on a deal." Now all of a sudden he can't figure out anything because of all these alleged concussions. Please, what a phony.

  10. I wouldn't trade my life for playing in the NFL + the money that goes with it + CTE. I feel for the guy being worried at age 29 about his future health. I wish him the best. I think it says a lot about people who actually take the time to write derogatory remarks about the guy.

Monroe never complained about concussions before and from what i've read doesn't have a history of concussions. That said, he will be able to smoke all the marijuana he wants to now. Thank god for Ronnie Stanley.

I'm not buying this story. This doesn't make sense and something isn't right. From partially torn ACL to everyone is totally fine. Yeah right. I'll be shocked if Perriman sees the field this year.

Partially torn is correct and nothings changed. Think ofa rope... fibers start to tear... now enough of them tear and the whole thing is at risk of disconnecting. Very few fibers tear and its very simple to repair and keep its strength. This is what happened, they didnt know if enough tore to where he'd need a full reconstruction bc if not itd break under more strain... or if the tear was slight enough that all itd need is some rebuilding. That ended up being the case.

lol. keep drinking the purple koolaid.

Love it !... take that fake fans.. you know who you are... one other group I'd like to address: The Boldin Ship has sailed... I repeat, the Boldin Ship has sailed

    #Perrimanstrong :)

As much as I want to see Perriman make a full recovery why would you be elated that "The Boldin Ship Has Sailed"? Guess you like the mediocre cast of characters we have aside from SSS, Wallace, Aiken, and hopefully Perriman. Geez, you must have loved last years 5-11 season. Anytime you can get a WINNER (AGAIN, only if the price is right) why wouldn't you do it?

Aside from 4 WRs??? How often do you have 5 WRs gettin on the field? and why would you want an aging vet coming in as your #5 WR taking the few available reps away from developing youngsters?? Dumb dumb comment my friend.

Who are the developing youngsters you are referring to? I must have missed them last year.

  13. Waller, Matthews, Butler, and others do not get me hyped up a little. Reminds me of Doss, David Reed, and Millette. If we can pick up a PROVEN veteran(Boldin) at the (Boldin) right price(Boldin) I say we get somebody in here(Boldin) who is DURABLE (Boldin) and "ONLY" catches 70 passes a year (Boldin) and is a PROVEN WINNER (Boldin). We have nothing to lose other than another team signing him at the right price and reaping the rewards.

    Everyone still loves Q

  14. I'm trying to be optimistic here, but it's a partial tear at the end of the 2nd week of June. He still has enough time to heal up and be ready for the season if Dr. Andrews gives the go ahead. Logan Mankins played an entire season with a torn ACL in 2011. Hopefully Perriman's injury isn't that severe and he's ready to suit up come week 1 on Sept 10th

You are living in a fantasy world
