  1. both

Not to mention this is the first time we've had anything close to a confirmation. Until now it's just been people being eliminated from consideration and being told that they would have an announcement soon. Now suddenly, we have a front runner who has a plan to bring in lots of talented coaches.

  2. Myth: Torrey Smith, Jacoby Jones, and Marlon Brown form an above average group of receivers.

Fact: I can name a receiver from every team who is better than Torrey. (Yes these names are debatable, I'm just trying to make a point)

AFCE: Mike Wallace, Jeremy Kerley, Stevie Johnson, Danny Amendola

AFCN: AJ Green, Antonio Brown, Josh Gordon

AFCS: Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson, Nate Washington, Justin Blackmon

AFCW: Demarius Thomas, Dwayne Bowe, Denarius Moore

NFCE: Victor Cruz, Desean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, Dez Bryant

NFCN: Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall

NFCS: Julio Jones, Marques Colston, Steve Smith, Vincent Jackson

NFCW: Golden Tate, Michael Crabtree, Larry Fitzgerald, Tavon Austin

I disagree with a few of the players on there being considered better than Torrey, but I agree with your overall point. There was way too much talk before the season started about how Torrey had finally become a #1 receiver, then we saw the same problems that have plagued him his past two seasons.

  3. I don't think he meant to use them as defensive backs.

I was poking fun at him saying they would be a good secondary. I agree completely that that's a receiving corps that I would love to see.

    Pretty sure they do.

Football is a business. I doubt the FO is willing to bet 7 million dollars on Cam holding Boldin back. The fact is that Cam's offenses were good. I think we can all agree that he was holding the offense from being great, but it isn't our money that gets lost if that isn't the case, and it isn't our job that's on the line if we aren't cautious. The front office looks at 2008- most of 2012 and sees a good offense.

I want to see Boldin back in Baltimore next year as much as anyone else, and trying as hard as possible to bring him back is common sense. But if he insists on placing himself out of the FO's price range after saying that he isn't playing for money and wants to retire in Baltimore, then he's gone and he has no one to blame but himself.

The 4th string HB? You want to give him a chance at WR....

To be fair, he looked really good catching the ball during the preseason. That doesn't translate into being a good receiver, especially in the slot, but it's worth considering.

  4. i've seen enough of Doss. He's not Anquan he will never be Anquan.

We must keep Q. He is the receiver I've been waiting for ever since we got Flacco. Anquan and Torrey best tandem we've ever had. Wish Derrick Maosn was a little younger and still with us. Anquan, Torrey, Mason and Jacoby would be a solid secondary.

I don't know about that. I could see Torrey and Jacoby, but Anquan and Mason were never really fast enough to play CB or FS, though Q might have had something going at SS. :P

  5. Explain to me how its "fair" that Boldin should take a pay cut.

    1. He has the third highest cap hit of the team, topped only by two players that are at the tops of their respective positions.

    2. Taking a pay cut or getting a contract extension would help the team.

    3. "I'm not playing for money."

Why shouldn't Boldin take a pay cut? He played great in the playoffs, but we can't base every player's salary on a four game stretch. The FO has no idea why Boldin suddenly turned into a real #1 receiver for the playoffs, or whether that will last through another season and it would be foolish of them to pay him like one.

  6. Excuse me? The title was quoted. I didn't make that up. Don't be a fool. Read the comments even. You're not trying hard enough.

I used exactly what you quoted in your post. Why would you post the corrected version in a post about mistakes?

My point was that the title may have been wrong in saying that the Ravens released Harrison(though it clearly only makes grammatical sense if a team other than the Ravens was the one releasing Harrison), the content is what matters and that is what's correct (with the exception of the NFC North bit.

  7. what do you mean he obviously wants to test the market?

He obviously wants to stay in Baltimore and simply get paid what the Ravens agreed to pay him for his services. Given his post season performance I'd say he is entitled.

To a 7.5 mill cap hit? Not a chance. Boldin is great, but he doesn't deserve the third largest cap hit on the team. If he won't take a pay cut, then the FO doesn't really have much choice.
