I was poking fun at him saying they would be a good secondary. I agree completely that that's a receiving corps that I would love to see. Football is a business. I doubt the FO is willing to bet 7 million dollars on Cam holding Boldin back. The fact is that Cam's offenses were good. I think we can all agree that he was holding the offense from being great, but it isn't our money that gets lost if that isn't the case, and it isn't our job that's on the line if we aren't cautious. The front office looks at 2008- most of 2012 and sees a good offense. I want to see Boldin back in Baltimore next year as much as anyone else, and trying as hard as possible to bring him back is common sense. But if he insists on placing himself out of the FO's price range after saying that he isn't playing for money and wants to retire in Baltimore, then he's gone and he has no one to blame but himself. To be fair, he looked really good catching the ball during the preseason. That doesn't translate into being a good receiver, especially in the slot, but it's worth considering.
