Dorsett would have been a better pick. I sure hope the can coach this kid to watch the ball. Speed doesn't catch the ball. I really hope they get another like Rashad Greene.
Agreed but my point was wilfork is just as effective at what he does but not in general
He couldn't replace ngata at all.. The level at which ngata executed stunts and moved around the Dline will not be replaced by anyone we could sign in FA
Oh i agree with you. But he'd stuff the run every time. I believe he fits the scheme we use and double teams are key for the pass rush to be effective.
At what he's asked to do.. Not the same player at all
In my book disruption is disruption. I never said he was the same style player. I said he'd be effective. No two players are the same.
He may want to go the Brady show. But he should know that no matter how well he plays it will always be attributed to Brady. Which is a sad commentary of the league and those who cover it. He'd a least gett honorable mention here as they don't kiss Flacco bootlicks a fraction as much. lol
I would like him as well. He actually produced as good or better in San Fran than he did in Buffalo, believe it or not - his reception percentage and yards per reception were up. His numbers were down because he was only thrown at 50 times in 2014, but he caught 35 of them or 70 percent.
I am surprised the Ravens aren't all over this guy. He would be a great addition in the new scheme as we'd zone block opening various parts the field and passing lanes as well. Forsett would command a lot of attention so stevie steve would have the middle and out routes. Also he could mentor along SS the rooks.
I think crab's is worthy of a 1 year prove it deal
He ain't going for that. He has a lot of pride. He would want a least a 3 yr. deal and some guaranteed.
No idea how we could afford him but we need an extra D-line body and he'd be an excellent mentor.
Oz/Cass could be real creative. I think it's do able. I think if they covet a player they may cut Webb to free up money since re-structuring would seem less likely at the point. He may see a trade play out like Ngata. Either way i don't see him playing at his current salary (this year). Next year he'll be a year older and a cap casualty anyway. Better to get something now then nothing later
Somehow were in the running for Wilfork
And he'd be a great addition for us. He is just as effective as Ngata.
Stupid pick. Ha-Ha, Pryor, Dennard sitting there. Just plain dumb. Ozzie needs to get off the linebacker bandwagon and or retire. JPS.
If he and Pitta walk we'll have the cap space. Really it's about drafting well and spending money well. ideally you want to solve all problems in the draft, but structurally nothing is as important as drafting well.
Agreed.
Thanks. Now i really understand why dealing draft picks is deadly to future growth. Puts us in a quandary if he and Pitta walk. But then we rebuild. And it really should start now imho.
nah, next year.
Me. I'm moving up to get Watkins. I ain't got nothing to loose. I need a playmaker. To keep it interesting. At least one. I'm cutting all scrubs that sit in ice tubes during those games that count. They sell Icy hot outside the stadium as well. See you sucker would be on his last pay check.
I think Deanthony Thomas and Saunders are both mid to late guys who could be deadly slot guys if they develop right. I think Thomas is slightly better since he runs the ball but Saunders tore Alabama up and I think his quickness could really counter the movement towards longer corners. Saunders is a little lighter but he is a fairly similar guy.
Honestly the Ravens haven't had a true slot man in recent memory. Did they even have a slot play design. That film eludes me. LOL. All I saw was predictable plays to the predictable players. Kubiak better pound the desk and demand players that fit his schemes. Or scapegoat numero-------------#will exit stage left. When he was right all along. Any other interesting players.
I can easily see Thomas stock rising as we inch closer towards the draft, I remember a crazy stat he had, A TD every 8 touches
Then he's a beast. His stock rose right there, if true.
Thanks and I'll be watching the combine. Please post any others of interest. I'm a draft geek around this time of the year lol.
The reason I feel like the Receiver Ozzie was talking about is not from the draft is because he said the team needs and will have a guy who can make those key 3rd and long catches and get the yards after the catch and, to me, that sounds like he is talking about someone who has proven themselves in the NFL level and not a draft prospect whose NFL ability is still up in the air until the season actually starts. Anyone else agree with this and think we are targeting a receiver in FA or possibly by trade? I was pretty sure he said THE receiver meaning he knew the exact player versus a kind of player. But I'm probably wrong about that part.
I don't think Ozzie
Knows the players name but the type of. I would hope he'd place value on putting at least 3 prospects on the team to compete with the current cast of would be castoff's. They really need to put real pressure on these guys who have shown promise but no real commitment to there craft. You would think they would devote more offseason time with Flacco. In order to sharpen there skills an rap pore. No pain no gain. I'm hoping they use 2 picks early to get it at least half right. Plus a FA. What we've become use to shouldn't be status quo for Kubiak or Bisciotti. If it's truly a fresh start they need to prove it and early. I will go so far as to say Cam may have hamstrung with Ozzie Picks.
Let him go. If he only cares about money then we don't need him. Enough of the greediness. Seattle did it with a bunch of no name brands. Time for Ozzie to step his game up. We are several parts away from winning in the post season. So get your roster together for a really brand new start. I myself could leave with a new one with a lot of promise. Especially since it may take this new regime of coaches time to gel with our players. Bye, Bye Monroe.
We could probably get D'Anthony Thomas much later than the second. Wouldn't mind getting him at value however, he is a good player. Another guy we could get is Oklahoma WR Jalen Saunders if we are looking for a similar player.
Where is both projected to go in the draft? Pre combine of course. And why do like J.S. so much?
We need a #2 who could be used as Torrey's doppelganger, both in speed and reliability. A threat that can take a small gain to the house and make the D back up, opening our TE's and Rice to make more plays - Someone like:
In the slot, I totally agree, Edlemen, Welker, Amendola, all these guys are quick, fast WRs that may not burn you down the field 100% of the time but excel in getting separation with their quickness, being a huge benefit on first downs. We need someone with the skills like:
Both these types of players can play all over the field, both in the slot and outside, maybe even the backfield on some plays. This is not saying we should get these guys but get some picks like them. They have a ton of versatility, something The ravens and OZ love in a player.
Like your picks and totally agree. With D'Anthony being a Percy Harvin type. Kubiak would have a field day with hybrid player. Rice has proven to be an asset in the dump-off but D'A would provide a real passing threat. He should available in the second. Thanks for thinking outside the box

That's a constant in time and game management. He seemed to get a little better from his first few years but regressed into costly unwarranted mistakes. You need time-outs when you trail by the score. The organization's not thinking ahead or in the present day. And it and it starts in the Head Office.
