im all for overlooking stupid young mistakes, but someone who just has bad judgement/bad character(as shown by multiple offenses of something that is totally intolerable), is a totally different animal. even a team with a stellar track record of characters cant afford the PR nightmare that comes with drafting high a player with 2 DV arrests, let alone the ravens.
not to mention, dede westbrook is just not the kind of talent that makes you toss all concerns about character out the window. if the ravens are even gonna consider a guy with 2 DV arrests then he better come out of college looking like julio jones.
I get your point that you don't care for Westbrook's skill set but analysis would disagree and we'll just have to how his career pans out. I personally love his skill set.

So you'd have passed on Peyton Manning, or Jameis Winston due character concerns. Point is Westbrooks charges were dropped by the Police on both cases as was Winstons and Manning. Question: How does sexual assault not equate to domestic violence of the highest order. Judgement calls without all the facts rings hollow and provides a false narrative.
I'd hope the talent of Westbrook would outweigh his past boo boo's. He's young and it happens. He would be a fresh start to the receiving corp and everyone should be given support even if they made bad judgements. The Ravens need to get off that high horse and ride one to a championship/superbowl. I haven't seen a stat on high character. And for what it's worth a lot successful teams of modern day era could be given * alongside that title. If you question one players actions.
I'll take M.Wheaton off the Steeler's hands.
I read an interesting article today that suggested implementing the 4-3 and amassing the personnel that's currently onboard roster approach. Made perfect sense to me. Ebonybird.
It's going to be an open market. Many changes abound. If we are diligent in the pursuit of a mastermind roster we wiLL HAVE SHORTCHANGED ourselves.

No Question.
Keep Wallace, develop C.Moore and draft (2) more receivers in early to mid rounds. I'm also sure an undrafted player is in the equation or at least should be.
Playmakers... ok. There will be playmakers every round.
Mike Williams,Dalvin Cook, Davis West Mich WR, Howard TE all possibly 16th picks
Rnd 2- Dede Westbrook, Amarah Darboh, Smith Schuster WRs
But are they going offense or defense?
We'll see bro
Flacco should help himself by helping himself.. Practice in the Off-Season with live WR's. Have passion for the 20 game season, passion in your own way but still a burning passion for 20 games then we will see the results.. its starts from within. Namaste
The very best response here! This was actually what I thought even before reading the content of the headline. Flacco is no rookie! Can you imagine discussions year in and year out about how to help Ed Reed or Ray Lewis? Simple solutions-- a pass rush helped Reed get more picks, beef on the D-line meant Ray didn't have to take on O-linemen routinely... Flacco? O-line... wait, maybe a slot receiver... nah a deep threat... but it could be a running game... with or without a bruising back... nah we need one that can catch out of the backfield... C'mon! Flacco isn't a baby! His salary screams that he should elevate the talent around him. He just needs to put in the work-- be obsessed with winning!!!!!!!!!
Excellent point
Since Joe's footwork was universally recognized as atrocious and his stats were not good, maybe he would take it upon himself to do as Matt Ryan did and seek some professional training in the off season. That would help Joe. And the bonus is we can focus our FA and draft on defense.
Valid point.
I'd remove Webb from the equation and translate Jimmy to safety with Weddle. He would serve nicely if we take a couple of Corners and an egder. If we think outside the box, a lot of depth at key positions may already be on the Roster. Carrera is being underutilized as well. I'd find a way to shoot the gap with him and I see Hybrid (punisher) if his heads and theirs are into it. I also that they need to eat a lot of dead money. So I'd be in favor of parting with 1/2 now 1/2 next year. I'd take the hit now with the high priced vets and save Jimmy for along term role under new management via position. He seems a little brittle for corner @ his ankles/feet.
If we got off of two picks that amounted to nothing in the last two drafts we could have had Ha Ha Clinton-Dix AND Jalen Ramsey. Because we so valued Bronson Kafusi we couldn't get Ramsey, similar situation with Clinton-Dix). When players start mattering more than picks we will do well, as long as Ozzie continues to buy into the mentallity that a pick is more important than players, then we will keep getting 11 draft picks a year and end up cutting 7 of them and 10 or those 11 never make it to the end of their rookie contracts and resigns.
I think Harbaugh is doing wonders with what the FO refuses to give him.
You may be on to something. I don't think Harbaugh is the greatest problem but part of it. I think Ozzie needs to revamp his strat asap.
I think things will shake out very early in the off season. Either there will be marked improvement or more the same. It will start with FA and progress into the draft. Cuts should begin in earnest. If Webb/Dumerville/ Zuttah are retained it will show that Ozzie is to stubborn to change the error of his ways. Bad contracts, aging non performing players, oft-injured players, and under achievers need to get jettisoned first and foremost. If that is not the protocol being discussed during the visit to Florida then the only people being hoodwinked will be themselves. No longer can Ozzie be solely entrusted to right the ships path. I'd even ask him to step down if continues to use the broken formula he's used to draft and retain players. The youth movement has been in full effect for years and teams are taking a different approach by not handcuffing themselves to weighty contracts. They gauge the likeliness of the player not fulfilling the latter stages of the contract and offer more up front money for less years. Not strung along into the hyper belt. Or they have youth or there side which makes the contract palatable. Every year this team is broke during free agency periods and forced to beg a player to extend the pain. Not a winning improvement plan IMO. I understand wanting to get a player a ring but It's business and they have epically failed in the last few years to change anything meaningful. The fans have been on point with there criticisms of the front offices MO. I hope they turn it around and the next month will show us if they really are capable of such under this regime. I'm not holding my breathe because when I see how they draft they kill my soul.lol
The whole FO is dysfunctional and the owner needs to give Coachspeak, Ozzie and Cass an ultimatum. No more blown drafts, No more (Limited botched) coaching decisions, Revamp the scouting dept and allow the coaching coordinators more say as to whom Ozzie drafts. It's obvious there is disconnect between the powers that be. Aged players with huge contracts still be coveted like some other team is waiting to pounce i.e Webb whom should be a no-brainer to be cut. Dumervil cut. I'll wager that neither gets the boot. Why because blind loyalty is part of the Ravens way of doing business. Bad contracts and bad drafts make for 8-8 records. No co winkie dink.
I see the greed of picks typically superseding the quality of picks and positions that remain suspect as being the stale MO used be the front office. Steve should laying down the demands for certain things this offseason. Every year the fans are majorly disappointed by the draft as Ozzie squanders picks on rubbish and I guess he calls it a Belichick type maneuver. Meaning the off the radar type player. Only thing is Ozzie weaknesses continue to be constant needs and seeming only half-heartedly addressed.
I will say if the Ravens missed- communication tactic's resurface about him this time around the front office will smell of a fish kill. No coach speak or spin job will be tolerated by the fan base or media. Some feet will be held to the fire ! And rightfully, so. As a matter of fact it's over due..
I personally commented on the article before the draft of Perriman and had read the article which at the time was pretty damning and straight forward. The statements in the article suggested that Perrimans condition was that of a problematic concern and was suspect due to the propensity to heal slowly and was painful in nature. No amount pain relief remedies would help him and Perriman had experienced it first hand. NFL teams had been informed and aware of his condition which they would have to evaluate before drafting him with a valuable high pick. The Ravens became smitten with Perrimans speed rolled the dice and up to date, lost. If you look at his college film he even runs funny/awkward. His upper body doesn't coincide with lower body at the knees. They look thin and vulnerable to injury if hit (game speed), or over stressed. Hindsight is 20/20 but when it stirs you in the face you should do your due diligence to determine if was a smokescreen or actual fact. I'd say the evidence is overwhelming that the article was correct and timely. Somebody dropped the ball, plain and simple.
You need to hire him Ravens.org- If he can coach up our kick returner or Reynolds is a +/+. An internship is in order and a fresh pair of eyes never hurts our cause. Boldin should be offered a position as intern as well.

It's hard to gauge your stance on the matter as you wrote a critique of his talent and it doesn't jive with this latest response. And I personally like productive players first a foremost. If they happen to be what you'd call flashy then so be it. Anyone could site players that ultimately had red flags. No brainer response of the sort. You can/ should also list quite a few players with no history of red flags before there careers started and now are being caught up in compromising situations. Re read what you wrote before you put your foot in your mouth as I'm not a band wagoner type. lol Why would he have to be another J. Jones to be a successful player in the NFL. If he's properly vetted then it would all shake out in the wash. To dismiss him without factual evidence seems like you have a complex or fear derived by media hyped information. Last I checked you can't penalize a person twice (Double jeopardy) after being officially adjudicated via police information/investigation or the courts judicial system as to the merits of an accusation of criminal acts. So you are now judge jury and executioner. How Trump of You! Like you never were accused of something and either proved yourself innocent or the matter was dropped in your entire life. You sound crazy.
