  1. http://www.russellstreetreport.com/2016/04/05/street-talk/ravens-strategy-change-ozzie-newsome/ I find this article to be on point with the rumor aspect of this thread. I think the fans voices are being heard and taken into account. I think an honest attempt to address positions that have waned will be adequately addressed with a few consensus type players.
  2. I sure hope they don't believe they will actually get to pick all of them in the top 134. They'll probably get jumped as usual for those they think should be there. Glad to hear that they at least are gleaming at mock drafts other then there boards. It really has been pretty helpful to know that what a teams potentials are and how the outside world views fits for prospects and what motivations teams may have to swipe your guy and maneuvering in the draft. Theres Knowledge and theres propaganda.
  3. I liked JS tape but wouldn't take a risk as we already have a major distraction at receiver. Two rookies not being fielded in consecutive years isn't going to fly. Unless he's the last pick for us and even then I maybe hesitant to do so. Gurly looks great now but the jury is still out as far as longevity. I just wish we could even say that about Perriman lol
  4. It's really looking like Perriman's reported injury has a lot to do with some type of degenerative disorder as reported. Most fans seem to think it was a hack reporter disseminating the story. I don't and think the Ravens gambled on a speedster and combine influenced work out/pro day. It shouldn't take that long to get over that reported injury. It's truly not a good look. It would seem that he had far more extensive damage then we've heard or have been lead to believe. I certainly wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket he's carrying. The Ravens will look real dumb if they don't take another viable receiver that has at least 2nd round merits. Waiting for day three will only add enormous scrutiny and the chatter will not be of the kind nature. We aren't the only ones looking @ the failed position for far too long. They may say he's being saved from re-injury. Really?
  5. Sterling won't be there in the third I'm willing to bet. The run will begin late one thru two. Any skilled position players will certainly be plucked. Teams needing upgrades will take the cream of the top. Totally agree with the last statement. The kicker is we have higher then normal expectations of Smith which may not be in his control. I haven't seen to many people beat out father time. Blind faith can't be the mantle for success.
  6. That maybe true however they need to really double dip IMHO as they really will still need speed in the event that Perriman has a setback. We really can't afford to waste the opportunity to put a stamp on the position and with confidence.
  7. No way Ozzie doesn't take a receiver in the draft. No way possible. He's on record as needing depth and that means thru the draft as well. SSsr is an injury away and Aiken is a #3. They have got to be tired of the chatter about the position and they will bolster the position with quality. Plus this: Breshad Perriman - WR - Ravens Ravens coach John Harbaugh said sophomore WR Breshad Perriman (PCL) is still not running "fully." Perriman did not play a snap as a rookie after partially tearing his PCL early in training camp. He was expected to be ready for the offseason program, so it is concerning he is not yet back to 100 percent, although GM Ozzie Newsome said the team is getting good reports on his recovery. With the Ravens bringing in Mike Wallace in free agency, Perriman needs a strong offseason to solidify his role in the offense
  8. Gives me a reference for picks and structure.
  9. Waiting until the last round to draft a wide receiver. Last time they did that it was or is a joke. As a matter of fact I'd be PO'ed if they wait until day three to address the position.
  10. Thanks I didn't analysis the pick order. Appreciate it.
  11. I'd play him at safety with the ability to cheat up into box/zon/blitz. He'll need to add bulk muscle to play pure lb. Hybrids have enormous potential. He's certainly in my crosshairs and conversation. I'm taking him in the early/mid second with the extra pick via trade down. Hargreaves in the first at 8. Shepard early second Cravens with second second.
  12. Buckner looks to be a player that can be stifled in crowd. His length could a great benefit or a curse. I also see greater injury potential with that being said.
  13. All players are role players. To what extent varies. I'd take a Mcphee in our scheme as opposed to not selecting or acquiring him @ all. Most of our selected players flourish here and founder elsewhere. Best Player Available being scheme specific holds more weight for us. I understand both arguments. Without keynote players in place I'd prefer to see an evolution in the process of selecting players that will overhaul the current roster from serviceable to elite in being durable, reliable, cerebral with sound technique with a bite of Hybrid stamped into the line up. A Myles Jack, Sua Cravens, E.Elliot, Shepard, Boyd, tackle/guard, safety/cornerback, QB with pocket poise/above average scrambler would bode well for the draft. The more they can do the better the fit.
  14. It isn't for me because Hargreaves is clearly a playmaker that offers great turnover abilities and even if primarily used in the slot would be an upgrade. I'd take him at 8 after moving with the Eagles as my trade partner. I'd take a second and a third/ fourth as comp.
  15. Someone will reach for Lynch and it will also enhance the odds of us getting greater value from the one's that may slide into the early second round. Lynch is not the only reach that will happen @ the position and will have needy teams making rash decisions in making selections. Even the teams with solidified Qb's will suffer injures during training camp and OTA's making it a need to get a viable quality starter that would be preferably younger @ the position. I say younger only because the one year signings aren't building blocks for the future. The teams that think they can win now will opt for the Vet. The Cowboys, Eagles, 49er's, Rams, Jet's, Bear's immediately come to mind. I think the Cowboys will take a QB in the first. Jerry throws smokescreens like the best of them. Romo can't be trusted to survive the season and the Cowboys would be in dire straits if the trust and believe that. I'm not saying all teams will reach into the early rounds but they will reach at some point as this class isn't stocked with overwhelming talent. Projects and reclamations will be focal in this years QB situations.
  16. I'd take it a new york minute.
  17. If the medical checks out I'd be all over that signing. Low cost and high reward. The Browns either whiffed as usual or have a bad report card on the injury.
  18. Kolby Listenbee will a steal in the fourth round. He ran 4.32 and was still recovering from injury. Cortisone shots for 4 months and dude still ran quick. Put him the slot with a tightend and have good hands back (Forsett/Drake/Prosise) and Perriman, Wallace on the outskirts. Everyone knows speed kills defenses.
  19. Agreed as it sheds light on the league/teams and how it either evolves stands pat or just totally fades into obscurity.
  20. Would be a nice haul for a few positions.
  21. Believe me, No one player is worth the current place we sit. 6th right ? Why not make it more?
  22. I'll co sign on him. Like what I've seen and heard about him. He would be taken with my third fourth. Mallet actually has great value. Injuries will happen to Teams primary QB and guess what Mallet has talent/Experience/and athletic to succeed given another chance to prove he can lead a team. He's a bargaining chip at best. Our back up at worst. And I love his skill set. He was actually as advertised when he arrived and thus far been on point. Hogan is my frontrunner. I would like to keep Mallet. Personally
  23. Look at the project players that won't get drafted. He won't be one of them.
  24. Any film?
  25. Long as you got the point I'm good with the typo critique. Sure Tunsil is the consensus pro bowler type. However betting on a single pair of legs while leveraging it with multiple picks when you have quality volume in the latter and little cap space remaining means your ballooning the payments in every aspect. I'm not on board with that hedge fund. Sure I'd love to get Tunsil but not at any cost. Funny how Mr. B agrees. Smokescreen I think not. Opening bell @ the Baltimore Ravens stock exchange simply rings true in my ears. Building thru the draft won't field an all star team but rather a nucleus for the next monster they would like to build. I'll agree to disagree.
