  1. When we acquired them from Cleveland. Of course the Browns needed to be excommunicated from roster but I always envied the cities with teams so i was elated when had own team once again.
  2. True. Perriman or Perriwinkle has put a lot of doubt in my mind. I'd add that owning 3 or 4 4th rounder's is a lot of ammo to add with that #1 pick. They could maneuver all around the board early. But Ozzie likes quantity which in the latest results compromises quality.
  3. Agreed.
  4. What give them another spin opportunity? Ozzie doesn't follow thru which to me is the most frustrating. And when he does it a protracted train wreck. "We think we have quality receivers already on this team" is the one that bites nuggets. Really ! And why aren't a few fans able to ask questions during the session? The questions posed to them are bland and soft ballish at best by the reporters. Censorship………………..
  5. Brian Quick would be my much sort after receiver in free-agency. But what's missing is the YAC element.
  6. The only statement you made that I don't agree with is "it would have been hard to select another wideout. He went 2 tightends previously. Why not 2 wideouts? Knowing that you only had one speed guy in house and he's rookie. That doesn't make sense. A slower tightend may get a few first downs but not take the top the defense.
  7. In the words of Scarface's momma. "Yous a bum then and yous a bum now………"Get out"………."I don't want round my Ravens"………….."And take that filthy money with you…………………..
  8. I don't think so. At this point I'd say no. But the issues John's having with clock management and team fitness should be up for discussion. Injuries may not be preventable but player's with repetitive injuries being bought back year 3 falls on Ozzie and crew. Pitta, Campanro, Webb, Smith, all had significant injuries that should have suggested to the F/O they'ed need veteran quality receivers and DB's.
  9. Your absolutely correct about it not telling the whole story. However after the production of this teams ineffectiveness in regards to it's receiving corp would suggest the same as I've. previously mentioned. They have brought in (castle visits) numerous player prospects and either lowballed them, never signed, chose the wrong one or slept on a home-run type prospect. Even a blind man could see the value of a Diggs. Another prospect that slipped through them fingers was honey badger himself and look at what he's done in the league. The blindside human interest story seems the mantra to this organization. I'm not looking for a great read, I'm looking for a few difference-makers to impact the team. It's amazing the loyalty that Ozzie commands. However his decisions leave allot to be desired. Over paying aging/injured players or not out maneuvering teams with equal or greater needs in the draft. Makes me personally wonder who's really evaluating the game tape. Perriman's slow healing process which was known during the draft process is another prime example. If they didn't know about it still lends credence to my comment. We are know injuries happen but there is no Receiver other then your #1 pick nursing an injury and out the gate.lol His receiver choices haven't panned out through drafting them in years. Campanaro is anyone. Mr. injury. You may argue about the tightends but they don't have but one gear. So to me that's a too hard to miss. As long as your accept excuses. Let me tell you this one. There isn't viable one for neglect anywhere in this league.
  10. Who has the final say in the draft. On the offensive side of the ball. Ozzie wouldn't be allowed to sniff the board and the phone would be yanked out the wall during the selection. Cellphone block in full effect.
  11. I'm a fan of a top five pick. I'll be watching to see holes which develop after the players realize they are in a contract year, bubble players, injuries, those that don't play for pride and those who probably wouldn't want to resign after realizing Ozzie and crew have no clue how to put a complete offensive roster together with cap space and numerous draft allotted to them. And if his successor's blueprint is just flipping pages in Ozzie book he shouldn't be promoted. All good things come to and end. And it sure is taking a long time to be recognized. How many times does one need to slapped before they wake. Even if you changed parts of the scouting dept would positive step in the right direction.
  12. After years of neglect and false expectations from this organization we should protest loudly at the home games. The wide receiver trend has been widely covered by pendents, media and it's fan base. Ozzie seemingly believes the hype generated by this fan base. The crown bestowed on his head is hyped so much that we blindly follow during the pre season. Even after all the mis-cues regarding personnel issues. Receiver and cornerback where obvious neglected needs going into the season and has existed (imo) way too long. If you can't count the botched acquisition of free agents and draft picks, you must not have any breathe in your body. I believe instead of booing a bad play or penalty we should be giving the organization a taste of our displeasure and whole heartedly express to them we know more then they think we do. It's okay to play poker(sort of speak) with 7 picks but if you have a bunch low cards how can you think your going to win. Bluffing in the NFLgets you a 1-6 record. Even your chips will be depleted. John's right! We aren't in their shoe's. And nobody in the NFL record wise is either. So before you chug that beer. Say loudly. We need 2-3 receivers and 2-3 cornerbacks/defensive. We're tired of the rummage sale prices. If we keep saying something Biscoitti will have to listen. If the ship doesn't sail smoothly then we should move on from Ozzie's total control or period. New blood in the transfusion may be required. It should be a concerted effort. But peaceful. Pick a series of play, standup and say loudly We need a few true difference maker's and not just lineman.
  13. Our hindsight is the organizations whiff, lol Ozzie should be ashamed of the roster he's put together. Biscoitti should be p/o'ed about the moves his general manager has elected to make. I keep saying that his old school way of doing business is not in keeping with today's NFL. Sad.
  14. They always bring in prospects that they had interest in during the draft process and they either don't get to select or whiff on the selection. Which is even more disturbing because you interviewed the prospect and didn't see the value and he was in your building. That also leads me to believe they aren't evaluating them correctly. I sure hope it's not the talking portion(lifestyle) of the process. They must be sleepy while they're working out some of these guys.
  15. They didn't trade for Givens just to let him go. If he shows a certain skill set to actually get open and catches everything that comes his way. They wouldn't let him leave without a decent offer. I think he's a missing piece of the puzzle. As his skill set coming out college would seem to suite what we need as far separation and the ability to find creases. Go watch his tape from college.
  16. Purging some of those low tier salaries would also help. Player evaluations for those that under-achieve during the course of this season should cut addition fat. I'd be playing practice squad players into the rotation as well. If the numeric equation for elimination exist then why waste the scrimmage time. Everybody on this roster should be evaluated to add in any decisions. Inspection time for the coaching team as well.
  17. I'm starting to believe that Flacco may not be able to thread the needle going across the middle. Nice deep ball most of the time. But crossing patterns aren't installed for a reason. When his receiver finally gets open Flacco may scramble to hit him. Just not as a planned attack. Givens and Ross should offer those options going forth. I truly hope the organization gives us at least two picks via the draft. They should be high ones as well. They certainly will have the ammon with the comp picks. If the front office continues to turn a blind eye/deaf ear to this need they will lose games, money, time, players, fans base and just have hope and few of us left in the stands/tv.
  18. Exactly.
  19. No he's not because they own his rights as he didn't fulfill his contract via cba.
  20. Which is why only part of this article makes sense. I'd take a nice long look a every player on the roster. Regardless of the win lose column. Sure you play to win but winning meaningless games shouldn't stunt your growth. Evaluation of strengths and weakness of the teams dynamic would be clearly a win going forward. The coaches could also install different schemes and technics without sacrificing a likely playoff berth.
  21. I agree with most but Ozzie would get a lineman or linebacker. It's his pattern. And it's sad.
  22. You are exactly on point. You both have keen observations of the Ozzie era. I hope the Owner mandates at least a high draft pick in the first round to solidify the receiving corp. Perriman may be effective but they have missed so many times that they need to bolster the team. The scouting department needs a overhaul and/or the rating system utilized needs reform.
  23. I believe Givens is a great pick-up and will be auditioning for a more prominent role. He, Butler and Ross may prove to be acquisitions that prove their worth for next year's roster. Those on the sidelines should be given every opportunity. If i where Trestman, I'd be inputing my stamp on the O going forth. Pee's just needs a clue or to be dispatched with extreme prejudice. Givens looked hungry and motivated to play in the game. And his stats where impressive coming out of college and was just beatin out in the pro's due to draft picks his team chose to roll with. Even Ross shares a similar story.
  24. In the game of football the stats don't typically lie if you use the correction equations.
  25. I'm advocating for a no excuses policy from those entrusted to get prime contributors to the offensive side of the ball and 2nd year depleted secondary. The talent maybe here but it's not consistently evident. My concerns with the team continue past the draft each and every year. I don't get the organizations film study and evaluation process. They have repeatedly past on or get beat out position for premium talent. Receiver and cornerback selection or lack there of is glaring. You can count Perriman selection as a highlighted example. They should have known the man heals slowly as it was known that he'd had past problems with the healing process. So if he twist another joint the wrong way it may result in another lengthy inactive status. That just doesn't make much……..
