  1. Can he run the full route tree or is he a systems guy, with that being his primary skill set as far as getting open. Don't get me wrong cause I'd love that selection as well but don't know much about him other his highlight reels. Who does run the full tree in this years draft?
  2. I think he may go higher then round three but depends on combine stats. I'd pay close attention to the receiver from the U. Stacey Coley is my sleeper pick. He has great ball skills in the open field and is quick as well as fast. He seems to have 2 extra gears. And body control is very good and plays tough like bolding, I'm inclined to be believe that Ozzie will snatch a RB in the second round and my guess would be Fournette/Henry. Best player available currently seems to be one of those two. If the draft follows its recent trend then RB wouldn't be a top priority for many teams - excluding the Cowgirls. Beast mode ala Gurly will be served early in the second round. Forsett will be in the fold and Tali will be supplanted for Henry. They certainly need to be able to pound that rock when Forsett struggles. Right now I'm going with Ramsey/Hargreaves in the first. Henry in the second and Coley in the third with maneuvering. Offensively I would say that's pretty potent and would take the pressure of whomever was drafted. Our version of Gurly certainly exist and if we don't take receiver because best player available I hope they select Henry.
  3. Prime spot for QB hungry team that can be racked over the coals.
  4. Your right and we're about see it after the bye. WATCH I'm a big supporter
  5. He will probably never be a number 1 unless he shakes the health issue which has plagued him. In order to be a number in my book you also have to be healthy most of the time. This is shaky out the gate. i'd make a 2$ bet and thats it. I hope he stays healthy most of all for himself. And I'm certainly pulling for him to succeed.
  6. Exactly. How convincing are they, is my question. And if all of them are whiffing then there's a problem. So I'm inclined to believe that Ozzie's the problem and the scouts add fuel to fire. If they haven't learned their lesson in drafting receivers especially then all hope is lost in that category. Holding on to picks year in and year out for sub-par talent will never gain my support. Thats a luxury that we can ill afford. This team is a skeleton of it's former self. Rebuilding is currently happening but just isn't being announced. Joe Flaaco should asking of more money instead of taking a pay cut. Because, the cast Oz put together sucks. We've been fortunate that he hasn't been hurt.
  7. But Ozzie ultimately has the last say and I'm sure they don't try to persuade him too much. Bisciotti always says he digresses in order to allow them to do there jobs. And Harbaugh can't overrule him. I believe their tier system may be actually the problem and (definitely) the scouting is pretty bad in 2 area's and creeping into others. Eric says he has to digress as well. So Ozzie has full control pick wise. I hope Ozzie evolves in order to keep up with the current trends. Smash-mouth has it's moments and tactical strikes have theres. The teams that are having the most success have common denominators. The voice of reason should exist but who this team holds that tittle.
  8. Has anyone heard an updated version of the Pitta rehab project ? This is allegedly the final week to decide. It probably not a good look as they have given no positive info as to his status. Also has any one else heard of Marquez North out of Tennessee?Dude has some serious playmaking ability.
  9. An admission that they need to evolve in all area's is truly refreshing. Another bright spot is that their looking beyond the organization into analyzing other teams teams successes. That I hope will translate into the draft strategies we are using that aren't producing the trending results around the league. Somebody other than Harbaugh and Ozzie is probably using that gavel. If this article is true then a purge of the mediocre should ensue. The staff should be self evaluating themselves as this would reconsidered as fair warning. They might want to invest in an 2 prong scouting approach. I'd suggest they use the same services as the the leading teams with current consistencies in problematic area's. They certainly can afford it. If the Browns could find a Josh Gordan talent, somethings wrong with that picture. Doe's player available always work. Heck no. Does an accurate pre draft evaluation work better which also involves position of need as well. Imo. No brainer. Waiting to select a player that fills a need elongates the problem indefinitely. Best player that is projected to stop the leaks has to be paramount. Hoping Joe Blow in the fourth round will surfice cause that linebacker fell and your really needed a cornerback seems like fool fodder. We have plenty of holes and we have plenty of ammo to secure a premium squad. The things we have going for us right now hints that they finally understand they have a golden opportunity to assemble a monster team. Cap space will not prevent them from a moderate splash, Dead money will be significantly reduced. Injured players will be purged. Flacco may give money to acquire at least one/two signings. Attrition will help. Caos in mid season is rearing it's head thru out the league. The cost of letting guys go on the low of the base salaries won't significantly effect the bottom-line. We are basically fielding a lot of practice squad players as well. The owner gets to evaluate in mid season their efforts to clean-up and rectify problematic area's. He should have a clear picture of effectiveness and in efficiencies. i'm praying they don't squander the process by remaining in denial that some heads need to roll if it doesn't result in even a late push into this millennia. Old school is for old people. It's nice to remember but you must remember its the past.
  10. If I'm not mistaken there were a couple of drafts and that one being that we were out maneuvered. The scraps were left. But total whiffs on players like Martaviuos Bryant, Emanuel Sanders and even Givens have plaqued this team. They skip over tier talent al and apply BP available. The year was drafted the Ravens skipped over him The Ravens previously had players like Ray and Ed that they could afford to select like that. Now we don't. There is a shell of hallmark squad left to on the current roster. I'm advocating for a BPA Position of need simultaniously. The organization should able to pull this off without fail. They have the draft position (currently), moderate cap space, practice squad based line up to evaluate and purge at a nominal cost. Turn over will be of the old staples that about to begin. Givens and Ross should be affordable and hungry to stay because they Know they could and probably would play. Justin can be had with the Flacco savings (partial portion). Monroe will probably be cut due to injury concerns. We could invest in a Safety-(Ramsey) with 2 free agent acquisitions(Sean Smith comes to minds) & Will Hill. There's bounty of defensive players we haven't discussed. The draft is crucial to the rebuilding of receiving corp as we all know. if the Ravens have at least 11 draft picks they would foolish not to go after 3 in the draft. Elitish talent will there in the first 3 rounds that is readily recognizable. College football stats/combine/sports science matrix are becoming tell tai signs of the talent /matrix. I'm hoping for an announcement from Ozzie that they added/supplimented/surplanted the current scouts in key areas. Wide-out and Db's. Ozzie has the linebackers down pat.
  11. I like it%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026
  12. Thank you Joe for validating my observation(s) of Mr. Givens long before he got here. He must be resigned in the off season. I don't who cut to keep him receiver wise. Dude plays like a smart/athletic Raven. If install routes that take advantage of his skill set they won't regret it. We'll still need to replace Camp, Brown and possibly Smith. Ozzie needs Dick need to their cap evals early. The Cubs (formerly the Lions) will ripe for the pickings lol. If Caldwell goes then he will be an asset in lining our pockets with some of their free agent talent. Old alliances would must assuredly help the FO in the evaluation process. I think we should live up to the Ravens nature and scavenge them there bones clean. (Pun intended)
  13. There is a diamond in the rough out these two signings. Watch. And my bet is it's the guy from the saints. The Saints typically pickup well rounded receivers.
  14. Brown sticks around for special teams. Nothing more.
  15. He's not going to return here unless theres an injury to another two recovers. Dumping money into a lost cause only bolsters the problem. But I really would have given Wes Welker a call for at least a tryout. What we need is a consistent pass catcher in the middle and on quick slants. We really never had that for years.
  16. I'm taking Boyd in the first. After selling two of my fourths 1) with the #5 pick in the two thousand sixteen NFL draft- The Baltimore Ravens select- Jalen Ramsey 2 )With the second pick the Baltimore Ravens - The Baltimore Ravens select- Tyler Boyd (after trading back into the first round and swapping a slot) 3)With the third pick the Baltimore Ravens select- Travin Dural. Everything else hasn't been evaluated just yet but I'm working on it. I thinking lineman cost money in free agency and the receivers brought will be cheaper thru the draft.
  17. I'm in favor of the tape flavor. I have seen enough games, tape and highlight reels to correctly say this dudes going to be legit. Combine numbers only solidify the presumption that the player adds a missing dimension. I question the organization because they can't see it and I'm a layman by their standards. I think the scouts are either sleep or smoking some serious crap. Or maybe their advice is falling on deaf ears. You know Ozzie is aging and rich. So if I'm Biscoitti, I'm in the draft room waiting to hear Ozzie's explanation for why we didn't take that dude. He also needs to invest his time into studying some tape because he's writing the checks. Ozzie would still aim the arrow and not be struck in the head by that faulty Boomerang. I believe if I'm going to get my a-- kicked, I'm going out with an hellashus fight. Funny how this same topic keeps us Ravens Fans Up all night. So Friday night fights - Here we are! Take your best shot
  18. Lol…………I can't stop laughing JF5. Thx for the heads up.
  19. Great idea! It really is. If Ozzie didn't listen to that. then "Mssion control …….Uh, We have a problem"! With the projected saving he should really ask/demand at least two and one of his chosing.
  20. Coaching and playing are really two different animals. Mentor yes. Coach no. Coaching is also a fraternity. It takes years to develop that skill. There are many different perspectives to consider as a coach. Not just one dynamic. The stars are not aligned for that to happen. Biscotti probably ran that across Ozzie's mind and it got vetoed. Besides Harbaugh probably wouldn't want Ray to undermine his authority. But to mentor/motivate is a far less threat to upper level leadership. I can him it now- (Ray) "He don't know what he talking bout" ! "Do it my way next play! (Harbaugh)- i thought I called for a all out blitz.! (Ray)- " Oh, my bad" ! "My headset went out and I didn't hear yah"! (Harbaugh)- Oh Okay………..
  21. 1/2 a season rentals don't make sense. They have enough on their plate without adding a lost pick and a hefty salary demand from a player whom undoubtedly would want one last big payday. This thread reads like a FUNNY PAPER's headline. (J.S.)
  22. Whatever decision he makes may derail the process of finding future receiver's. (i.e.) Pitta.whom is counting largely as an inactive player and roster spot. I primarily hope that he makes his decision quickly. If he decides to continue it would most assuredly cause Ozzie and co. to rethink his draft strategy and skew the matrix/dynamic. If Ozzie thinks putting blind fate into an aged rehabbing receiver is (best cap wise) to augment the current receiving corp it would put a huge roadblock as far as future acquisitions. This scenario has played out on numerous occasions. Holding onto aging vets and often injured player(s) needs be abandoned. For the risk reward is less predictable. The onus for such a decision should not be left to SSS. I love the heart (lion) of SSS, but his body must able and willing to go along. This off season should not be filled with subplot's, but real time draft/free-agent acquisitions. If SSS does come back I'd be inclined to the think that Ozzie would follow his stale pattern of expecting too much from him and expect the same level, if not higher production, while ignoring the obvious or anticipated rust/rehab effect. Sure, SSS ,maybe effective. But to what extent. It's only been less than a week and already the org and fans want that cinderella swan song to play out. Enough of that. If we haven't taken a page from the Micheal Orr (blindside) project, then shame on us. The only happy ending for me is a Superbowl win. If i want a perfect ending, I"d try reading a playboy magazine(starring Me..lol). Not the crime scene noel that's about to play out. It's already been seen that he's not exactly lighting up the scoreboard with the numerous drops in the redone/endzone. I think i counted 5. I will say that if he's willing to take a much lessened role and the Ravens manipulate the roster to include maybe 7 receivers to the active receivers on game days then I wouldn't be opposed. But to put blinded/biased fate into a player that may already have reservations about returning would be a supreme blunder.
  23. i forgot about naming him on my list. He would be one my 1st day FA visits. Desean would get simultaneous door bell rings. "You there yet"? "Yep" "Ready set----Ring'. We got this ticket to Baltimore and the contract on the table. "You ready to play like A Raven? I'd even take SSS with me…………for the testimonial.
  24. Agreed. But not far after.
  25. Me either. After looking at the list (free agent0 I'd be inclined to make a run at him. But who knows what cap casualties may crop up.
