  1. We need serious help in the dept yet nah sayers can't see it until the games begin and lost due to the lack of ability to score and often. Part of the narrative has been how clutch Tucker has been for us and to me it's quoted way to often but it is a plus not a way of winning consistently. To close the gap we have to address the position even more aggressively then those that have subscribed years ago. When you look at teams like the Patriots, Bronco's, Seahawks they all have multiple weapons that contribute weekly. They spread the ball around and they incorporate players that lend themselves to that ideology. Sure you may win a game or two with only 9 points on the board. I think what we miss on in free agency is the niche players that have that swiss army knife quality on the offense. Defense has been just about perfected. Example a Forte would have been the perfect antidote for the ailing passing game and would have served us well to have had acquired him. Similar to a Percy Harvin type. We need a joint mindset of run / pass. When you tell your opponent how your blueprint was rendered merely allows your blueprint to schemed and picked apart. Oh we are going to run first ! Why ? Because you don't have passing game with viable parts in place. I the evolution is long over due. If we can't see we need the Forte' type in the Backfield, dual speed hands guys in the slot, Blocking tightends with hands that can find the soft spot in defenses, W/Y guys that run multiple routes then we're done. There are those types currently available via the draft and a few in our price range. Here's something bold for you. I'd take Mallet off our books and offer him up in a trade to a team enriched with draft picks. Trade him to them and fleece the draft for 2nd, 3rd, and 1st 2017 and 3rd 2017. Allowing them to select this year and next without being crushed and enticing them into the trade. We'd have 1, 2,2,3,3,4,4,4, 5 and next year we'd be set as we'll likely not net any comp picks of any real consequence. Osemele isn't a given. People will scoff but really The Bronco's, Rams and Cowboys are one injury /failed draft project away from losing game one. Who would I bring in/two RG3 cost nothing on both ends Mallet contract amounts to chump change/ RG3 same
  2. My dear Watson said Sherlock. We can steal some plays from Peyton's book. Good call and solid pick up.
  3. Good job Ozzie. So far so good.
  4. Interesting indeed.
  5. 1) Hargreaves 2) Will Fuller/Boyd 3) Jordan Jenkins 4) Kenyon Drake 4)KeiVare Russell 4) Jalin Marshall
  6. I'm excited too. Been a long time coming with thee ability to pick quality often.
  7. I'll take that any day. Shepard was a none factor in a big game but he came on in the clutch as reported. I think he can be a real schemed player. If the Ravens follow a blueprint of just catch the ball for yac it a win period. I can see a scenario where they get the dback and dominate. A great hands back and a tandem of Tightends does damage. Period. Boyd seems like the dark horse as no ones really talking him up. My boys are fuller/boyd . Speed and hands in the game. We roll with Boyd/Fuller/Perriman/Williams/Forsett/Buck/Late flyer/SSSr Acquistiions of Drake or Procice
  8. Matt Forte will be released during the free agency period. Fact per his twitter account. Is he a viable candidate to land here and if so or not please give your opinion. I'd say he would be a viable addition. I believe he and Trestman would form a formidable duo and the proposition of him coming is would be just what the doctor ordered. He and Forsett would provide a great 1-2 punch. I don't think Taliafferro can be counted on to stay healthy ~. I think the Ravens could and should look towards acquiring him and he won't break the bank. With the saving from cuts and free agency, he seems like a great fit. He is a true dual purpose threat and with Forsett, West and Himself and any addition pick up via the draft. They rookies could be mentored by numerous successful players i.e. Steve Smith, Forsett, Forte, on the offensive side of the ball. Actually I'd call it a match made in ^. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000635912/article/which-teams-are-the-best-fit-for-matt-forte
  9. The most thing I can think of is Will he be able to positive affect the games he plays in. Big Picture.
  10. I just wonder why Brown hasn't been cut yet. What gives? He's an obvious bust and any and all cap savings should be made available early. JMO. I forgot his first name just that fast lol.
  11. I'd take a flyer on the cheap if he would agree to terms. He would be a viable by committee player. But only if we won't envision addressing the hole in the draft. I can see a relative need at the position and seems as if there is a host of players that could be acquired via the draft. Only question is what round. I would rather take one in the draft with CJ Procice being the prime candidate. I would invest heavily in the position because we still need to find a true triple threat on the offense. Forsett was schemed by opposing defenses effectively last year. West is still a wildcard. Taliafferro doesn't stay healthy. I presume Richardson wasn't the workout specimen when arrived @ the castle (you know the rest). My candidates for refreshment: Forte: 2 year-8m over 2 year. Foster: same CJ Procice 4th round first pick Drake 4th round. Getting true good hands player(s) out the backfield would help spell the notion to just load the box. Buck Allen would still be in the mix heavily. It's obvious the Ravens know they still need to address the position so the draft is the most obvious avenue and they will pick one up. Tightend as well.
  12. Sterling Shepard will surpass all expectations. Jalin Marshall will be a clone of Antonio Brown. I agree we must get Shepard and I'd take him with the first second rounder. I truly believe they will move back and around this draft and use their picks wiser then previous. They are making the needed cuts and the sword won't stop swinging for awhile.
  13. great news. go ravens. next
  14. Whens the comp picks announcement ?
  15. Problem I see with Bosa is he reminds me of the J. Clowney signing. Allot to like, with really no other upside. I would have to make his living doing just what he's done in college. I don't think it will last. He's not the ideal pick.
  16. I'm taking. Spence 1st round. After moving back. I'm taking CJ Prosise 4th maybe Drake after his pro day. Slot/Back Take a flyer with another 4th RB. Hybrid type comp pick. 1st second would be DB undetermined pre combine. 2nd second Boyd/Shepard/Fuller
  17. I look at this move as a non vote of confidence for the current rb's currently on this roster. Taliaffero and West especially. Forsett maybe the only one that sticks. lol. I do believe the Ravens will add a running back in the draft or free agency aside from the Richardson acquisition. Richardson to me is dumpster fire pick thru that will be answered during training camp. He'll have to take very little money as he has no cards to play in the game of do you want to play poker game. I'm looking for more surprises as this came out of left field.
  18. Boyle won't be with this team going forward as his mistakes cost more then money. No one should expect Ozzie to hold his breathe. If he keeps Boyle then he should seek out Gordon as he's another player with questionable security in terms of the league. Hue Jackson seems to be wanting to shed players with character issues. I say this in light of the of the possibility that Flacco's contract isn't restructured. We certainly won't have enough cap space to be a real factor in free agency as Ozzie's spinning currently. Of course Cleveland would have to either trade or release Gordon for that to happen. Not that far fetched imo. Being a retooling organization I'd say they need to become balanced in scoring as opposed to running. Field goals have been money but not the hallmark for a winning formula. So run first only happens when you score consistently. And it must be often and first for the best case scenario and results. Trestman really hasn't had great options in his first year here due to the roster. Injuries must be equated into it. The Ravens have pieces of the puzzle. I just wonder if teams scheme the Ravens proclamation that we run first and will always try. In fact I don't get the need for Harbaugh to make that a hallmark for this team. By announcing it he sets up the for a no-brainer game plan in terms of how we will approach the first play and how the opponent must scheme to stop them. It's playing poker and showing your hand. Actions should speak louder then words. They haven't had a high powered passing attack after the initial team was brought in via the move from Cleveland. I look for massive turn over to free up cap space to contend.
  19. Imaginary example only
  20. I don't see the benefit of claiming the BPA if you skip the player you had rated for an additional pick(s) as that doesn't constitute BPA. It's is totally contradictory to the claim. Now if the whole story is BPA under/related to position of need then it's different IMHO. I would subscribe to it wholly if they stated it that way. And looking at talent skipped over in previous drafts also suggest that player wasn't the best player available in any given round. I see credence in the OP comments relating to the lapses in evaluations in area's. I also think maybe the scouts themselves maybe need to be reworked in order to get a fresh set of eyes on the task. It would seem logical to have multiple scouts attending higher ceiling prospects thru out the college players ceilings. I am surprised that Steve B doesn't use a similar service while employing the same scouts he currently has. Is it a question of money ? I would think not. So the disconnect appears to be the person making the trades, moves up and down, calls for contract extensions, etc. GM anyone ? Skipping over Odell Beckhum jr for a another pick in the 5th round is just plain stupid unless you didn't have a correct grade on OBjr in the first place. I think the frustrating part of the process is you see yourself a player that would undoubtedly help the club and they pass him by. Then you say to yourself they must be going after him and they don't select him either. And then you get the out of left field and say WHo, WhaT, WHy. Are you kidding me? You did all that for this dude ? By the end of training camp they are applied to the practice squad for 2 years minimum then cut or picked up by another club with no compensation. Failed strategy. And a failed attempt at one upping your rivals with you go left and we'll go right. Either way trotting out a bunch of no name brands ain't gonna fly to much longer with this regime. The Odell comment was an example used to describe player type only. Not to be taken as real.
  21. Ultimately Ozzie pulls the cards. Grading system is only as good as the evaluators. I really think the draft strategy is whats flawed. Someone needs to explain passing over premium players that had obvious upside and potential. Moving back and acquiring more players of lesser value poses the worst possible outcomes. Anything after the 6th round is basically = to mining for talent. Nothing is wrong with it until it starts skipping over premium talent just for the sake of it. Making the BPA non existent.
  22. Spence
  23. Not bad as for 1st option.
  24. @usmccharles. No it isn't at all. I don't know that he'll be taken by us there but he'll come off the board somewhere in the second. I'm supporting us trading back to acquire an additional pick and grabbing him or Boyd/Fuller. I like that Shepard has lined up in multiple positions in/outside and succeeded. His skill set is sorely missed here. Refer to link below for examples. http://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2016/2/15/10982382/baltimore-ravens-offseason-roundtable-part-i-the-draft
