Gonna take more than a mishap in negotiations. He's going to have to agree to play for us for half price, which no person on the planet would do.

Frankly, I'm not even sure why Von Miller is even a topic of discussion here. I'd set the likelihood of playing for the Ravens next season as equal to Aaron Rodgers being our QB.

    And I'm not kidding either.

    You're right, as usual, jacket.

I would rather cross my fingers about stuff that can actually happen.. Like Flacco creating more cap space for us allowing K.O and Tucker to be Ravens the next 5 years.

As awesome as the thought of seeing Von Miller in purple and black is, you are Spot On with your comment. Von Miller would excite me more than I can say, but I'd be happier with KO and Tuck.

  3. Although everybody would probably love to see Von Miller here, we all know that there's no way he will be. It's just not Ozzie's way. But, if anybody might tempt him to depart from his MO, he'd be a nice one to do it for. As much as I'd love having him, we just can't afford him. I don't want Oz to blow up the roster for him. And on trading the 6th pick, I'd rather see us grab a "blue chipper". Us getting the 6th pick is just so rare, I'd like to see us get a difference maker rather than an added pick. I think a 6th in the 2nd will get us another very good player as well, and adding in Perriman for this year and it will be like we're already getting two 1st rounders and, nearly, yet another picking so early in the 2nd. I hope Oz stays put.

too much effort now to check if anyone liked or disliked your posts under this new format. too much back and forth to the forum. not a fan of the new format. they need players like monroe to stay healthy so they do not cut players post june 1st to give us some cap $$ but give us the dreaded dead $$ as well. i would take caution in signing a guy like alshon jeffery because he has missed games the past 2 seasons with injuries and he is a player that will not come cheap. the key is to draft better and for the coaching staff to utilize the talent they have with better schemes. von miller wreaked havoc on brady with his blitzes yet i rarely saw pees utilize any of our ilb's that way and sending a cb or safety on a blitz was rare.

I agree, the new format sucks... almost as much as Pees' schemes

    I'll second that, too.

  5. Of the whole list, I want KO and Tucker the most. Of course, want means Nothing. It's going to be very hard to keep KO, I realize that, but I will Hate to see him sign elsewhere. I feel certain that we will sign or tag Tucker. I don't think he's going anywhere. I'm just really concerned about losing KO. I think he played much better than Monroe and he stays on the field a Whole lot more. It will just hurt us so much to let Monroe go and to sign KO. Add both those moves together and you're talking a Lot of money. I hate dead money!

  6. Speaking on the referee issue. I do think that this was the worst season, by far, that I've seen them have. Maybe Bisciotti has a point. I definitely think that his take on it has justification. But, I don't think that, alone, is the problem. I thought I saw a bad call yesterday in the Panther/Arizona game, and it was even reviewed, which made it even worse in my opinion. I mean, when they have a chance to look it over, slow motion, multiple angles, zoom and stop cameras, I think that they should get it right. If they only miss one call in a game they've done well. It's just reviewed plays, I think, should be gotten right. On the Carson Palmer fumble in which he landed on his back, holding the ball against the defender's helmet, I think that he Clearly was down With the ball held securely against that helmet. That ball didn't move an inch, until his back hit the ground. Hitting the ground was what jarred that ball loose and we all know that the ground cannot cause a fumble by rule. As soon as his back hit that ground the play should have been over. Of course, that one bad call, at least in my opinion it was bad, had absolutely No outcome in the game's result. Palmer had a horrendous day, but that fumble, at least, I feel certain was bogus. The Panther's looked So strong. You know, I really didn't think they were as good as they obviously are. I kept waiting and expecting them to come back to earth. But, by now, I think it's obvious that they are for real. Their defense is superb and it just seems to be their year. We're going to watch two great and dominating defenses at work in this SB, and I think that Cam will fair better than Peyton with his mobility. I think it's just their year, but one Never knows.

  7. I think most Raven fans realize that the Only issue with Camp is the injuries. He is, obviously, So talented and he really does have certain abilities that no other receiver on our team has. I'm a big fan of his, but even my patience has its limits. I think Camp's Only chance to make this team again is to stay on the field. I hate to say it, but his history doesn't seem to indicate that that is promising. I'm big time hoping for better.

  8. Don't waste money on cutting Monroe. If healthy he is more than a serviceable LT. Sign K.O as a guard and if Monroe stays injured or shows little motivation to play hard, then shift K.O over to LT and Jensen over to Guard. Why pay K.O tackle money when he can be paid top guard money and kept in-house?

Because there will be teams out there that will be willing to offer him "tackle money". So just why would he take less money from us than he can get elsewhere? Unfortunately, such is life in the NFL.

  9. I don't like what professional sports has become in the way of finances. Money truly has changed sports and not for the better. And players' agents are near the top of the list of things that have negatively affected pro sports. And Linta, well, let's just say that I think he is one of the worst as far as anything goes except his clients. I certainly realize that's his job, but he really is a pain in the. I like Joe, but I don't want him, or anybody else, to care only for himself so much that he is detrimental to the team. If he can't instruct his agent to negotiate a restructure of his contract that will help his team better themselves by reducing his cap figure then I'm going to lose some respect for him. We're not talking about him giving money away by taking less pay. We're talking about the way in which he is paid the same amount of money. It's done all the time and both Joe and Linta knew that this was coming. Linta even said so himself. Greed is a very ugly thing. To me, this isn't just about football. To some degree, I think this is going to tell me something about the kind of man Joe is, not QB, but man. I think I already know what kind of man Linta is. I believe it takes a certain kind of man to even Be a players' agent. Unfortunately, life can sometimes be ugly and I think money as it relates to pro sports is a prime example of that.

  10. I like what Harbaugh said, and I'm particularly happy that it happened to be wr help that he mentioned first. Of course, I realize that he wasn't talking about our needs in a priority type manner, but just the fact that he agrees that the wr position still has needs and should be upgraded was nice to hear. I'm not one of the people who will be "screaming" for a wr in the first round, although Treadwell Is a nice thought. I'm still hopeful, and believing, that Perriman will play next year and that will be great because it will be like we have two 1st rd'ers to start the season with. He's so right, also, that we have many other needs and the terms "playmakers" and "game changers" really describe the kind of help we'd all like to see. This off-season will be really interesting. If we can re-sign KO, I will be absolutely and totally thrilled. I want him back SO much. I'd be surprised, but Very happy.

  11. I really don't care who they pick because they have so many needs from previous bust but this time do YOUR STUPID HOMEWORK and DO YOUR JOB. All you had to do is Google Perriman and you knew he had issues with his knee.

Are you Ever going to join the rest of "Raven World" who HAS done their homework and read All the information about the knee condition Perriman suffered from as a CHILD? For the umpth-teen time, the condition he HAD resolves itself when his body is grown. Perriman suffered a serious injury to a ligament that was not related to his childhood condition in ANY way. I, along with a Lot of posters on here, sincerely wish that You would do Your homework and learn about this situation so that, just perhaps, you might stop blaming our excellent FO for making the mistake you continually insist it made, that it simply is Not guilty of.

  12. Baring injuries... (Cough* Perriman...) We need someone who is going to start like not even day one but like day -1. Of all positions, I think CB is the one where we need an immediate starter. Especially if we want to keep up with the Antonio browns and Aj Greens in our division, with the 6th pick we cant have a project player. Pass rush might be the next option but I think we have a reputation for breeding no name pass rushers (Mcphee, Arthur Jones) I think we wait, Apart from Bosa who I'm sure wont be avail the next pass rusher isnt worth the same value as the top CB. My call is Ramsey or Hargreaves if neither is available we are trading back with other teams who are trying to leap frog San Fran for a QB. OL I'm confident we'll address in FA, we did that and got a solid starting center to replace Birk or if luck would have it we'll restructure joe, get tucker locked up and tag KO. We've invested a first round last year at WR, Treadwell isnt worth it at pick 6, We can get DeSean Jackson 2.0 in Will Fuller in the second round. OZ and most people already know we already have Possession receivers we need a receiver that can catch canon bombs. Enter Will Fuller.

Lock up Tucker and tag KO? I don't think so. If either of those two get tagged I have to believe it will be Tucker, in the event that we can't agree with his agent on a long term deal. But do you have any idea what it would cost to tag KO? As much as I'm hoping that Joe's restructure, or some other miraculous way appears that allows us to re-sign KO, I don't see it as likely. Big bummer. I want him badly. But tagging him will cost, what, somewhere near 12 million. I don't see that happening.

    1

  13. I absolutely Hate the idea of trading down, even though Ozzie loves doing it. We haven't had the opportunity to get a "blue chipper" in so long, and we really could use one. We have NO playmakers, really on Either side of the ball. Please, Ozzie, do Not trade down. Get us a player of the caliber we haven't had access to for, it seems like forever.

  14. Want nothing to do with him and really think he deserves a lifetime ban from the NFL. He is out of control, has Never displayed Any degree of Self control, and doesn't learn that his low-life actions will do nothing but earn fines and suspensions. Just how many times and how much of these attempts on his part to purposely injure people does it take for the league to do the right thing? The NFL has the perfect and warranted opportunity to send a Huge message to All the players that this kind of repeated behavior is not desired and will not be tolerated. Everybody knows, however, that the league will, once again, Not do the right thing.

  15. I know that it's the least likely scenario to happen, because of the cap, but I most like the idea of having KO as our LT. I don't trust Monroe to stay on the field so that is my least favorite option, even though I think it's the most likely scenario, again because of the finances. And if we do, indeed, lose KO, which is likely, I hope that we get somebody better than Hurst as a backup for Monroe. Hurst just didn't do anything to make me feel warm and fuzzy. We're talking about Joe's blindside. We can't lose sight of that. Big time important as we, finally, learned this past season.

  16. Is it possible that the Ravens will get their cap situation in order while I am still alive. Somehow I doubt that. We must lead the league in DEAD money as well as having very little cap room every year.

I think what a lot of posters on here are not getting is that a lot of this is just simply bad luck. Nobody, Absolutely Nobody, can predict injuries. I distinctly remember that at the time that both the Pitta and Monroe signings occurred, most of our fans were happy with them. Of course, at this point, we have no dead money involved with Monroe but, perhaps, we might. We have an owner and FO that pays up to the cap in the hopes of fielding a team strong enough to compete every year for the playoffs and, ultimately, the Super Bowl. So, obviously, when these UNPREDICTABLE injuries occur, there isn't a lot of money available to "buy" our way out of the predicament. Every signing has a risk just because of the fact that Anybody can suffer an injury at any time. If we don't spend near to the cap, we will most probably look like most of the other teams that don't, and that's not very good. I think that you'll find that most of the teams that have a lot of cap money are ones that do not have a franchise QB and, in addition, are Lucky enough to have a lot of young players out-playing their rookie contracts. If everybody on here would just realize that, again, Ozzie, nor anyone else in the FO, can predict injuries, they would be a little more understanding of how the Ravens get where we are cap-wise. It's So much easier for us fans to question All the FO's moves, because We have the luxury of hind site. But, certainly everyone realizes that our FO does Not have that luxury when decisions have to be made. As far as Pitta goes, all the FO had to go on was the information they were being given by the medical staff.

  17. Anyone else as confused as me about Pitta's injury?? I mean, We've seen athletes come back from torn ACLs, MCLs, ligaments, biceps, achilles, etc but a non-contact hip injury it's this serious?? What If he re-injurs it?? will that cause him to not be able to walk again?? How are athletes so fragile nowadays? I just don't get it. is it Poor training? Poor conditioning? Wrong cleats? Wrong diet? Messed up fields? Frankly, Soccer players play all year long (sometimes 2-3 games a week) and rarely suffer injuries even though each player covers 3-4 miles a game (except the goalie), but football players play for 4 months and over 1/3 of our roster goes to IR. Something is missing here.

I know that in Pitta's case there was no contact when his second hip fracture occurred, but you just can't compare soccer and football. Football is an extremely physical Contact sport. Soccer just isn't. Sure, sometimes soccer players occasionally run into each other, but it's Nothing like the amount of contact we see in the NFL, or even college football. You're comparing apples with oranges when you speak of soccer and football in regards to injuries.

  18. Pitta, one of my all time favorite Ravens, should retire. His life with his family is SO much more important than football is. I really think that it's a shame that the CBA has all these rules that cripple teams, all in favor of the players. Why is it only in sports, for professional athletes, are employers forced to pay someone who can no longer do their jobs? I had an unfortunate outcome as a result of a surgery that didn't go well and was forced to retire and go on disability. The company I worked for for forty years did not have to continue paying me when I became physically unable to do my job or even work in a different capacity. And I'm sure that's the case with just about Anyone else. I just don't think it's fair that the professional athletes are treated so much differently than just about Any other employees. It really Does financially cripple teams. There should be some kind of financial settlement available between teams and players that helps the players to some degree and does Not count against the team when injuries result in situations like this. Just one fan's opinion, that's all.

  19. I don't know the financial ramifications, but if Webb won't take a Fair pay cut, considering the fact that he isn't a proven top safety yet, then I say cut him. Again, though, I don't know the financial ramifications. By that, I mean, is there a lot of dead money involved? I was calling for KO to get tried at LT for quite a while before it finally happened. But, of course, while it was during Monroe's many absences, it Was this season, not last year's. I don't see it happening, again because of dead money, but I would SO much rather see Monroe gone and KO re-signed to be our LT. Cutting Monroe would be costly, and KO will be even more costly to re-sign. If only some LT desperate team would be willing to take a chance and trade for Monroe, just perhaps, we could use Monroe's salary savings and money from Joe's restructure and find a way to keep KO. I Do realize I'm almost certainly dreaming on that one, but I sure would like to see it happen. By the way, I think Suggs is going to retire. He just doesn't seem to have the desire and the fire to play anymore. I read that although his achilles injury was much earlier than SSS's, SSS is already walking around in a walking boot, while Suggs is still in his. With SSS being the older of the two, and having more recent surgery for the same injury, it may show us who is working harder in rehab. Of course, it could also mean that Suggs's achilles injury was more severe than SSS's, but Suggs even last year was hinting that this past season might be his last. I will be surprised if he decides to continue playing. Just a hunch, that's all. Certainly, I have No inside information. We'll see.
