  1. First of all, you're quoting Two different people's posts here. Everything you say here were Not my words. Some were, yes, but some were not, and you make No distinction on which were and which were not. And secondly, didn't we go 8 - 8 last year, and miss the playoffs altogether? Either I'm having a senior moment, or I may have entered a time warp.
  2. I'm not so sure about that, jacket. While I certainly Do agree that the players, themselves, are partially responsible, but Solely responsible, I'm not so sure. If these players know, in the back of their minds, that there will be no repercussions from the HC, other than a "Hey! Don't do that!", it makes it much easier for them to play with little, to no, self control. If they knew they were facing fines or bench time, it just Might be a different story. Hey, just thinking.
  3. Well, you certainly didn't get a neg from me. While I can't match your, apparently definitive, assessment of Harbaugh's total ineptness, I definitely Have begun to question whether he is the right man for our HC job. I really Do believe that he rode on the coat-tails of Ray Lewis for the SB victory during his tenure here. And I am becoming more and more convinced that his ego is a problem, he's always had time clock and game management issues, and that he has lost the players and the locker room. As much as I disrespect Belicheater for being the outright cheater that he is, there is little doubt that he is, also, a great HC, probably one of the best of all time. And the point you make about asking whether all this garbage we're seeing could exist under his watch, like it is under Harbaugh's is a very good and valid one. It most certainly would Not be tolerated. People would be gone. Players And coaches. Yeah, we've definitely had more than our share of injuries, and I think our talent is not what it needs to be, but to be honest, a Lot of our problems can be placed on the shoulders of Harbaugh. Like I said, I've had mixed feelings about him but, as this terrible season goes on, I'm leaning more and more towards the tough that he needs to go. Bisciotti, the best owner in the NFL and, possibly, all of professional sports, has too much class to speak out or make any knee-jerk reactions, but I have to wonder what is going through his head. Oh, to be a fly on the wall during the team's FO get together for the year's evaluation! I am very anxious to hear the next State of the Team's Press Conference.
  4. No to All your questions. And you're Absolutely right that there were other players and plays that contributed to this loss. What Doom did was to give the Jags an extra play, After the game was over, with No time on the clock, which they used to win the game. That's All that Doom did.
  5. You have a good point, Mom Gene, and I have no doubt that you're right to some degree. But this problem with the Ravens has been going on for more than this season, and Surely you can recognize that quite a few of our penalties are of the really dumb and stupid variety. Those are the ones that really get My goat. And those are the ones that I'd like to hear Harbaugh say that he's instituting a fine or bench time for. I just want to hear him Publicly state that he's doing Something to try to fix it. And as for the booing that you're predicting, I just hope that the refs realize who the boos are being directed towards.
  6. I agree 100% that we should be using the rest of this season for evaluating purposes. You mention Ross. Well, we really shouldn't be surprised. That's been his MO, and that's why Detroit made him available to us. They drafted another returner because Ross fumbled so many times for them when he was there. That's twice now that he's fumbled for us. Kinda reminiscent of Asa. He makes some nice returns, but he's just too prone to coughing up the ball. Maybe it's time to give Mostert a shot at returning punts. Like I said, Evaluate!
  7. With the weapons the FO has given him, we'll never know. Despite that indisputable fact, Joe has achieved an incredible number of records and achievements Without decent weapons. I guarantee you, that if we had not paid him, somebody would have. And, don't give me the, We should have gone with Tyrod Taylor crap. Very few, Very few, would have predicted the degree of success he's had in Buffalo. Not even his biggest supporters. I, actually, Did think he would win the starting job up there but, still, he's done better than I anticipated. Fact is, though, Tyrod is playing for a better team than Joe is. That Does make a difference.
  8. I agree with Some of the things you say but, Dorota, these penalties have been going on All year. Actually, we were committing them at a high number las year as well. For this problem to have existed for this long it seems to indicate that Harbaugh is Not holding these players accountable. The dumb ones should be drawing fines and seats on the bench for a while. But all we hear from him is baloney. No hint, that holds any water, that anything is about to change. You're right. Penalties Are killing us but, it sure seems like Harbs has No plans to address the problem, and that, in itself, is a problem.
  9. Well, I'm glad that Dumervil took full responsibility for what he did because there is just No excuse for any player in the NFL, especially a veteran like him, to make such a stupid, bone-headed play. It Literally did cost us the game. And it's good that Lewis took responsibility for not catching a pass that I could have caught the play before Dumervil's ill-witted play. That cost us the game just as much. But, Every player who didn't finish the last play, Dumerbil's mental breakdown, are responsible as well. You play until you hear the whistle, Not until you Think the game is over. Simply pathetic, guys. Everybody on that field should feel plenty ashamed. It's so hard to believe what I'm seeing from this team this year, and so hard to even watch it. But, NO MATTER WHAT, I love my Ravens, and wouldn't miss a game for Anything. But, My Goodness, it's hard to watch. It's like they just REFUSE to win. Even when they win, they refuse it and Force the other team to take the win because it would get in the way of us losing. That's Exactly what it looks like. These guys are finding totally new ways to lose. And, Harbaugh, I'm sorry, but all the signs are there that you have lost these players and the locker room. Are you EVER going to hold these players accountable? We are TOTALLY Leaderless.
  10. Well, Ravenshine, "negative attitude" is a matter of opinion as well. What some might perceive as negative attitudes, others might think of as ideas and constructive criticism. I, actually, enjoy reading other fans' observations and ideas. Of course, some of the postings are venting, and often written while emotions are too high. I can do without them too. But, as for me, you're right, No one forces me to cheer for the Ravens. I do that, by choice, because I care not one iota about any other NFL team. And, win or lose, I will be a Raven fan for life. Certainly, I love winning, and hate losing even more. But, that's because I've always been an extremely competitive athlete myself. And, of course, I would rather my Ravens be winners again. But, like I said, win or lose, I'm a "RavenManiac" for life. All is well with me, Ravenshine. I mean No one any harm.
  11. Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing on these pathetic 3rd down conversion attempts. What the heck is up with that? It's been a consistent issue. Even if they don't complete the passes, they should at least be trying to get beyond the sticks. I really think it's the separation issue our receivers have. They just can't Get the separation needed beyond the stakes, so they come up short consistently and Joe has to hope for them to be able to gain yardage after the catch, but they're not good at that either.
  12. That is TOTALLY unfair. Just because fans, Ravens fans like myself, don't like what they're seeing from this year's team on the field, and care enough to give our opinions, it does Not mean that we are only "fair weather fans." I will be a fan of this team NO MATTER WHAT. And I reserve the right to voice my opinion on what I'm seeing from it this, and Every season. I mean, honestly, what do you expect to read from fans who care about their team? Sorry, but this year's performance is really Not "peaches and cream." And I'm not feeling all "warm and fuzzy" about what I'm watching. I care too much about the Ravens to be satisfied with what we're all seeing this year. No matter how long this goes on I will love my team, and I'm not going Anywhere. But, I don't have to like it.
  13. This has to be the worst yet. This team just seems to Refuse to win a game. Even when they do win a game somebody, or some bodies, Insist on giving the game to our opponents. That's what just happened. With NO time on the clock, a veteran, not a rookie, makes about the dumbest play I think I have ever seen. It is so blatantly obvious that a lot of our players just have No concept of what is going on or what they are doing. It's one thing for a player to make a bad physical play, like Lewis did when he dropped a pass that even I could have caught for an interception. But it's quite a different matter when an Elvis Dumervil makes the dumbest, mental error play the he made, again, with NO time on the clock. This is the same veteran player that had back to back penalties for lining up in the neutral zone not that long ago, keeping a drive alive for our opposing team. Just what is he thinking? Or is he not thinking at all? Why in the world is Harbaugh Not holding our players accountable? I honestly believe that Harbaugh has lost these players and this team's locker room. I'm sorry, Dumervil, but there is absolutely NO excuse for what you just did. I don't think this team deserves to win another game this season. I'd much rather have the better draft choice we'd get with continued losses like this. This is, without doubt, the absolute lowest that this team, the Baltimore Ravens, have sunk to. Totally ridiculous, pathetic, and shameful. I can't believe what I am seeing. We have a small high school team up here in western Maryland that has won back to back state championships the last two years. Admittedly, the school is in the lowest division in the state because of its size, but I'm not so sure that it couldn't give this bunch of guys we've got this year a run for their money. I guarantee you that I see Fort Hill High School play more disciplined football than I'm seeing this bunch under Harbaugh play. I think you've lost this group, coach.
  14. Well, Hardy might be soaking up the Money, but I certainly don't think he's soaking up any glory. I guess it's all in what a person thinks the definition of glory is. In my book, Hardy is Not worthy of Any glory.
  15. Dennis Pitta has been one of my favorite Ravens, all time. That's why, immediately after watching him go down, Untouched, with his second hip injury, I knew right then that I didn't want to see him get back on the playing field. He's Such a good man, a good player, teammate, and most importantly, family man, that I did not want to see his future quality of life affected by his strong desire to continue playing. I played a lot of sports in my time, and had eight orthopedic surgeries over the years directly as a result of sports injuries. And I can tell you that now, needing a cane to help me walk, helps me to know a little bit about what I'm saying. I did Not want that for Dennis Pitta. I wanted him to be able to run around a bit and jostle and play with his children, again, Not need a cane to walk and be unable to run with my three sons like me. I am very glad that he has expert advice from top notch doctors and I hope very much that he listens to them and makes the Best choice for himself and his family. Nobody loved playing sports more than I did, but I blew it. I should have put my family's best interests first. Instead, I let my love of playing be more important to me, and I feel very guilty about that. I hope better for Dennis Pitta.
  16. You gotta love Justin Forsett. This man has So much class, Always puts the team first, and I consider us fortunate to have him on our team. I am extremely happy that he was able to have the year that he had last year, earning himself a decent contract and some security for his family, whom he loves so much. Truth be told, he wouldn't have even had the chance to Have that successful season last year were it not for an incredibly unfortunate, and totally out of character, horrible incident committed by Ray Rice. Undoubtedly, Justin would have been Ray's backup without that disastrous night in that casino. All that said, and as much as I want Justin to remain on our team for the duration of his contract, I must confess that I believe the Ravens would be a better team if Justin Was, in fact, our backup RB. What I'm saying is that I believe the Ravens were much stronger when we had a Jamal Lewis, a Ray Rice, a more dominating, top three or so (league rated) RB as our feature back. The thing is, though, as many needs as this team currently has, I don't know exactly where this particular need is priority-wise. This is just yet another reason that I think the rest of this season would be best spent with our eye to the future. Eval every one of our players. Determine who we keep and who we don't. Figure out just how to prioritize the numerous needs our team has so that we can return to what we've been accustomed to see as Ravens fans. Please, be smart about this, Harbs. Do what's best, in the long term interests of our team.
  17. Honestly, I think that's the case right now. I mean, really, what would a win against the Jaguars say? The rest of this season should be all about evaluating every single player we have to see who should stay moving forward, and who should not. This would, also, help clarify just what the most pressing of our numerous needs are. I don't think beating the Jags does Anything towards helping us in that process.
  18. I really can't see any sense in Harbaugh, or the rest of the Ravens, realistically holding onto some silly 0.6 % of a chance to make the playoffs. Why can't they have a more realistic and beneficial attitude of what the rest of this season should really be about? What do a few more wins do for us? They gain us nothing, but they will cost us a worse position in the draft. I am Not advocating that we actually Try to lose games. What I Am saying is that it is really in our Best interests to focus, not on wins, but rather on evaluating every single player that we have on our roster, and even PS, to see who we want to keep to rebuild with and who really has no place on the team moving forward. Come on, Harbs, deep down inside you Know that we are in a rebuilding mode. We simply have too many needs and areas we need to improve in to consider us a contending team. Sometimes it is wiser to have some vision and to realize that a couple/few more wins are less important than evaluation, rebuilding, and having access to the better players in the draft. I love to win, and hate to lose even more, but, doggone it, sometimes you have to think beyond the moment. We are Not a threat to anyone this year. Accept it, and work Hard towards returning this team to what it once was. Do everything you can to figure out what we have, don't have, what we need, and the best way to get where we want to be again as quickly as we possibly can.
  19. There aren't any right now. That's one of our biggest problems. Everybody will laugh and neg me, but I still believe that One day, Breshad Perriman Will be a playmaker. I simply refuse to believe that One injury will define his career. I know what it feels like to suffer orthopedic injuries, and people, All injuries are Not the same. I still believe that he will play one day and that Ravens fans will like what they see and forget all about this extremely unfortunate injury he suffered to begin his career. But, right now, Seriously, we don't Have any playmakers.
  20. I like Justin Forsett. Let me say that first, however, the Ravens have been at their best when they have had a really dominant RB. Forsett has been around a long time in this league and has had one good year. I Do realize he hasn't ever had the shot that we gave him, but we wouldn't have done that without the Ray Rice fiasco. We've had Jamal Lewis. He was great. We had Priest Holmes. He was great, although he actually had more success elsewhere, to be honest. We had Ray Rice. He was awesome. I'd love to see us have another RB that is, once again, one of the best in the league. This team has a lot of needs. A top notch RB is one of those needs. We got a lot of rebuilding to do, fellow fans.
  21. I so hope that the team really Is doing what you say. It's the only sensible thing to do at this point, after the way this season has gone. Every close win we manage to get just lowers our pick in the draft. It does Not help us get into the playoffs. And, really, if we were to miraculously somehow get in, we'd just get knocked out in the first game. We need to evaluate for next year. It's the Smart thing to do.
  22. Based on what, not that I'm not hoping that you're right?
  23. I really think the guy we should have put every effort into getting was Alshon Jefferey. Of course, it would have had to have been a trade and sign deal since his contract with the Bears ends after this season. But, I heard that the Bears' asking price was a 3rd rd draft choice, and that would have been a steal for Jefferey. If we could have got him to agree to a long term deal, it would have been a Great move. If Perriman does work out, can you imagine him and Jefferey as our #1 and #2 receivers next year? That sounds pretty awesome. I have no idea what he will cost as a free agent next year, but Ozzie just Has to give up on this idea of his that we can be successful picking up washed up vets, and not investing any money on our wr corps. Joe has been without legitimately quality weapons for much too long. It's time to rethink things, Oz.
  24. I've been saying this for weeks on end. Monroe has been a HUGE disappointment, and I don't think he's going to get any better. Urschel is probably ready to start at LG, so let's give this a try. It could, also, help tell us how much we want to try to re-sign KO after the season. Yeah, he'd be more expensive at LT than LG, but that's only because LTs are so much more valued and important, and rare (good ones that is). KO has that mean streak that I like to see defending Joe's blindside. Give it a try, Harbs. At this point, what have you got to lose. Evaluating All of our players should be what the rest of this season is all about.
