  1. OK, here we go. Not everyone, of course, but a lot of people wanted Norv Turner because he has proven himself over the years to be a very good OC. Not a good HC, but a very good OC. So, his lack of success when given more than one opportunity as a HC makes me suspect that, despite what he wants, HC opportunities will not be very numerous to say the least. But just look how much in demand he remained as an OC after losing his latest HC opportunity. He was So in demand in that capacity that the Vikings Paid Cleveland to get him. As far as, and I believe his name is Jim Hostler, is concerned, I don't know, he might make a fine OC. But I, personally, would rather see a more experienced and proven commodity get the job, like Kyle Shanahan. I Definitely agree with you that Ozzie and Steve Bisciotti's opinions should be trusted FAR more than any of us fans' opinions, Including my own. I am in TOTAL agreement with you on that. Now, as far as this friend thing goes. I, for one, just believe that Harbaugh carries this rewarding his friends with jobs and Blindly giving his loyalty to them no matter what kind of performance they are giving him thing, too far. Actually to the detriment of the team, again, in my opinion only. He showed it with Cam, now with Castillo. But you know what? I don't want ANY hard feelings with anybody. It's my thought that this is where we fans can go to give our opinions and enjoy others'. That's all I'm trying to do and I mean no ill will to anyone. Go Ravens!
  2. The way I remember the Billick firing is such. Not long before Being let go, he had been given a vote of confidence by none other than Steve Bisciotti, even though there had been a "locker room mutiny" that Ray Lewis had been able to overcome for the team. This may have even been the Super Bowl year. If not, it was the year just prior to his firing. After the season, and having received Bisciotti's endorsement, numerous players spoke to the owner making him realize that Billick had "lost" the locker room. It was at that point Billick's contract was terminated. That's the way I remember it. If I misunderstood the reports I read, I apologize. But, that Is the way I remember it. So, my point is, sometimes it's not only about wins and losses. Harbaugh's job is no different than Billick's was, or any other head coaching job is. A lot of factors come into play; not just their record.
  3. OK. First, you're right, it looks like there was no interest in Turner or Kubiak. That's fine. They're the ones getting the big bucks and I am just a huge fan, which pretty much addresses my accessibility to the team's practices and my chance to see Hostler in action. I can only go by what I see on the field of play. But please let me clarify something for you. I am not hating on Hostler, nor do I want to bash him. I was, and am, just trying to throw my opinion out there as to who I think the best candidate for our OC job is. I'm not basing my opinion that Kyle Shanahan is a better option than Jim Hostler on any bad feelings or negative knowledge I have on him. I just would prefer seeing Shanahan in the position because of his more extensive experience as an OC, and despite the Skins' lack of success this season, he has been successful otherwise. And I do not blame him for the Skins lack of success this past season. And my last point, I Will admit that I'm not Harbaugh's biggest fan and just don't think I can attribute our 5 year playoff run to him. I believe the bulk of the credit for that success should probably go more to other people. To me, again, just a lowly fan, Harbaugh has made a great deal of questionable decisions. Hey, man, I'm just a RavenManiac that loves my team and enjoys sharing my lowly fan's opinions on here. No harm to Anyone ever intended. Peace, brother.
  4. I don't. Good point. Duly noted.
  5. You seem to be contradicting yourself. You say you see no scenario in which Harbaugh is fired, that he's as safe as Belichick. Then you state that Bisciotti remarks that he only gives One chance to fail on his watch, then took them all to the wood shed. Which way is it? Are you saying he's safe, or had his chance to fail and has been behind the wood shed?
  6. Looks like another Har Boo Boo is about to happen. We never even talked to Norv Turner. Mistake! We never even talked to Kubiak. Maybe a mistake. Kyle Shanahan is the best candidate left standing at this point. But who appears to be the front runner for the job? Hostler! Another mistake! When are you going to stop it, Harbaugh? Answer, probably never.
  7. The more I think about this the more I think a Wes Welker type receiver would help us the most. Other types certainly have the ability to help us, but a quick, sure handed, extremely tough, slot receiver who has the ability to run slants and other middle of the field routes, and also has the ability to make yards after the catch, moving the chains; man, that sounds like a guy we could really use. With our OL's pass protection problems, Joe could quickly get rid of the ball to a guy like that and just let him make plays. Just like Wes Welker has done for both Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. When have we had a guy like that? And there's a Real good one Just like that available in this year's draft. His name is Brandon Cooks out of Oregon State. The only thing is, I'm a bit afraid he will not fall to us at 16/17 of the second round. And there are so many good bigger guys that will probably go in the first round, the Ravens would have a scary decision to make. If all these big name guys go in round one, without us grabbing one, and someone grabs Cooks before our second round pick, who's left? I've heard of a couple similar type receivers, but none the quality of Cooks. This guy, despite his size, has Never missed a game to injury from Pop Warner through his college career. That's an amazingly tough guy. And I think I read that he had 19 TDs this past season. If that's right, that's pretty amazing too!
  8. Sammy Watkins!
