  1. That's Exactly what I'm talking about, ellicottraven! HE DON"T COUNT NOMO!
  2. And when you factor in how few the number of years he's taken to amass those playoff wins it becomes even more remarkable a feat. Just try to imagine how many more wins he will accumulate and how much higher on that list he'll go. And then remember that most people that aren't Ravens fans give him NO respect. Amazing, ain't it?
  3. I So agree. But, you know, it's really so darn silly that people can't understand that the stats that count are NOT the ones they are looking at when judging a QB. Why is it so hard for them to figure out how much more important it is to recognize that the Real stats that matter are simple Ws and Ls and the ones that start AFTER the regular season and begin in the playoffs? I challenge anybody to name a QB that can match Joe's stats in the playoffs, when games matter the most. Heck, most QBs don't even get there. And don't Even mention Cry Baby Brady's name, because he doesn't even count, PERIOD! Everything, and I do mean everything he has done is highly questionable to the point of being moot because it's All tainted. Nobody knows how many times he and his cohort, Belicheater, resorted to Something they shouldn't have. Besides, Joe has done pretty well against that cheater anyway. I'm just glad that most of Us know how great Joe is. I'm glad he's our QB. Wouldn't want anybody else.
  4. I know that. This cheater has WAY too much pull in this league. How many times do we hear about suggestions made by Honest coaches who have integrity? Nowhere near as many times as we hear about suggestions made by this guy that, apparently, has no conscience. Yeah, we have to listen to or read about what this guy, who's Always looking for a way to, if not break, bend or skirt the rules to gain any kind of advantage that he can find in his "win at all costs" attitude. All coaches are very competitive by nature and their desire to be successful and keep their job. But history shows, without a doubt, that Belicheater has definitely gone over-board and allowed his quest to win to define himself as a cheater. It's really kind of sad. I really hope that he can, somehow, examine himself, develop a conscience, and redefine his priorities a bit. For his own sake, I hope he can change.
  5. Well said, and spot on!
  6. I'm not sure that would get it done. What's the franchise tag # for kickers? Is it 3 mil, or is it more, or less? Tuck obviously knows that we'll tag him before letting him get away, and this rule increases the value of kickers. Wonder what the tag # will be after his contract runs out next year?
  7. Tuck will have NO problem with this rule. He will still remain one of the most accurate kickers in the league. Just GET HIM EXTENDED!
  8. Does this mean that Belicheater is STILL on the rules committee?!?! If that's the case, it's a travesty. How in the world can the league allow a man that has been involved, to some degree, in not one, but Two cheating scandals to be on the rules committee?!?! It defies logic if that's the case. And even if he Has been removed from the committee, his recommendations on rules should NOT be allowed. Shouldn't even want his input. You know, even if he, personally, did not hold the camera to film his opponent's practices, or deflate the balls himself, those things happened under his watch. That means that He's responsible and is held accountable. Just ask Sean Peyton. He'll be glad to remind everybody that what happens under a coach's watch is his responsibility. Get Belicheater off the rules committee, if he's still on it, and shut him up!
  9. jacket, you always make so much sense. I'm gonna roll with what you said and not be concerned with losing Tucker any more. Actually, I Did think we would franchise tag him before we'd let him go. He's worth top 5 money anyway. And, bat mite, without the sentence "kickers are only for kickoffs and PATs", I probably wouldn't have over-reacted. I don't remember if you got any negs, but if you did, there wasn't one from me. I don't do that to Any one for stating their opinion and don't think anybody should. Besides what Tuck has done on the field, he has just embraced Balto. so fast that it's hard to imagine him not being here. Heck, he doesn't want to root for the O's via long distance.LOL.
  10. It looks like you're having to defend yourself quite a bit concerning your original post. Well, maybe I should say clarify, rather than defend. I think what happened was simply that a lot of people, myself included, didn't really get what you were saying, or if we did, then we read more into it than it sounds like you intended. You're explanation here is what kind of makes me think that, because I Do agree with you that a strong OL is Very important. We only have to remember back to 2013 to realize that. I agree that Yanda Is critical, and I hope we extend him just as much as I hope we get Tucker tied up for the long haul. I think losing either one of them is a horrible thought. But when you imply that without Yanda we will have a weak OL, well, I'm not really ready to concede that. While I desperately don't want to find out, I'm not so sure that finding a replacement for him would mean that our OL would be weak. I feel a little more sure that Tucker's excellence would be more difficult to replace. He's pretty much automatic and a weapon himself. He is so good that he actually does add a segment to our offense that we didn't have after Stover left. I don't want to have to weigh the loss of either of those guys or weigh their loss against each other, actually. I think they're both Big parts of our offense and I'm sure Ozzie agrees and will have Moriarity do All he can to keep them both. Actually, to me, I think the hardest one to hang onto just might be KO, but time will tell.
  11. What scares me about Dennis is that after the doctors gave him the ok, and he was, supposedly, all healed, look at how he got re-injured. He was just planting his foot to make a cut, wasn't even touched, and down he went, back at square one, re-injured. It's one thing to Block/Jump/Catch, as you put it, but it's quite another to add in getting hit by a defender running at full speed and really trying to "lay the wood" on you. As much as I have been such a huge fan of Pitta's, I would really hate to have to watch him go down again. I like the guy too much to want to see that happen. I hate to be a pessimist, but I just can't see good things coming from a come-back on his part. All I can do is hope that I'm wrong or that he changes his mind because I want what's best for himself and his family. Priorities, Dennis, priorities. You don't have to prove to anybody that you love the game and are a tough guy. We all already know that.
  12. A kicker is only there for kickoffs and extra points? Really! You say win games with offense. Well, the last time I checked, field goals were a HUGE part of a team's offense. Go back and count how many games Tucker has won for us with field goals, game winning field goals. How about the game winner in the closing seconds from, what, 61 yards or something like that. There aren't but maybe a few place kickers in the whole game who would have the leg and accuracy to make that kick. And under that kind of pressure!!! Tucker is a VERY important member of our team and would be extremely difficult to replace. Chances are that if we lose Tucker, our kicking game will suffer a downgrade in quality. Unfortunately, I can still remember the Billy "Can't Kick" days, when we had to punt from somewhere near our opponent's 35 yard line or so. The top kicker in this league makes around 4 million a year. Tucker should get top 5 money, and I sincerely hope he would accept that from us and that we are offering him that. I'm not saying it has to be that 4 mil, but it should probably be close. If we don't offer him that, I guarantee you someone will. He would be a HUGE loss.
  13. I guess I am a very greedy man. I didn't really realize it until now, but I think I am. I think that because I very much want Ozzie to be able to come to terms on extensions with Yanda, Tucker, and KO too. That's right, all three. Yanda and Tucker surprise me. I would have thought that both of these guys would be Highly motivated to get this done. Yanda, to assure himself that he would retire a Raven, and with the kind of money suggested, doubling one's income ain't chicken feed, and is within the realm of the highest paid OLs. And he would be on a perennial threat to get to the SB as well. And now, Tucker. He seems to genuinely be happy in Baltimore. He is a Huge Orioles fan, an extremely happy and outgoing personality type person, and I just can't bring myself to think that he would want to play elsewhere. Of course, I am certainly not privy to what goes through his mind. Maybe he Does have some desire to play on a team situated closer to his original home area. Who knows? But, again, I would think that he, also, would want to play for a SB potential team. Everybody likes to win, and Tucker is definitely highly competitive. I have to believe that the Ravens will not try to "low ball" him. There's no doubt that the organization wants him and would much prefer not to have to try to replace him. He's a very popular player and I really believe he's the best at what he does in the entire league. KO, as much as I'd like to see us retain him, probably isn't as committed to wanting to stay a Raven as a Yanda just because of his longevity with the team being considerably less. But, to me, I think Yanda and KO are probably as good, or nearly so, as any guard tandom in the league. Yeah, I guess I'm greedy, because I just don't like the idea of losing any of these guys. I'd really like to see Ozzie find a way to satisfy all three of them and extend them all for the long haul. Here's to hoping it gets done.
  14. Quite a few posters have hit on a key element our offense really needs to focus on and improve at, and that is its consistently slow starts. So many times our offense has been almost totally absent without leave in nearly, if not all, the entire first half of games. Then, it is forced to play catch up and it seems to be a totally different offense in the second half of games. This offense NEEDS to come out of that locker room at the Beginning of games ready to play. It needs to be focused and play with the same sense of urgency that it plays with when it is trailing in games. Our offense nearly Always plays with no, or very little, intensity and urgency when starting the games. Correct that and it will Greatly improve our offense, aid the defense, and make us a much better team. To me, that falls on the coach. It is His job to have his team ready to play when it steps onto the field. Correct that and we will be hard to beat.
  15. How can you say the Ravens did nothing to address their secondary? My goodness! Ozzie signed a starting safety who almost certainly will be a significant upgrade over Darian Stewart, our starter from last year. And then he added a starting slot CB who, also, should be a Big upgrade over our revolving door of CB after injured CB. That's Two new starters, both of which should be much better than who they will replace. And Ozzie may very well not be finished yet. He, no doubt, will be monitoring every CB and safety that becomes a salary cap cut before the season begins to see if he thinks he can upgrade our secondary even more than he already has. He has consistently said that he believes a team can Not have too much depth at the CB position. Personally, I think Ozzie has Already upgraded our secondary and it would not surprise me in the least if he were to add yet another veteran CB before all is said and done. I think he's done a great job and I suspect he's not done yet. Have faith in Ozzie. He knows what he's doing. Nobody Ever can foresee injuries, and yes, Jimmy Smith and Webby have had their share, but I believe our depth is already better and, at least to start, our secondary is better this year than last year's was.
  16. It sure would be nice to be able to keep an OC around for a while. Of course, he has to be good at his job. That goes without saying, but some consistency there can only help. I know that they're stressing that their basic scheme won't change but, still, it would be nice for Joe to be able to built and Maintain some continuity with his OC rather than have to adapt to a new one every year. I do believe this offense has the potential to be our best ever, but I think it should be even better a couple years down the line as our young receivers gain more and more experience and Joe develops confidence and knowledge of each of them. I would especially like to see us extend Yanda this year and be able to sign KO to an extension next year as well. I'd like to see this OL stay together for a few more years until age creeps up to them and forces us to retool as we go forward. I Would like to see Monroe play a bit better than he did last year. I will admit that I did expect him to do a little better than he did. If he doesn't improve, an upgrade at LT might not be out of the question. But, for now, I'm pretty excited to see what this offense can do and I really do expect it to improve as our receivers get that experience I referred to.
  17. I'm telling you, this wr competition is really going to be something this camp. At least, I think it will be. We can only carry so many, so I see the IR tag being used to keep somebody we don't believe would clear waivers in an attempt to put him on the PS. Those "phantom" injuries have a way of occurring very near the final cut day. We just have a bunch of guys who show real good potential and it would really be a bummer to see any of them performing at a high level for some other team. That would be so ironic since it seems like we were always somewhat lacking in the wr department. Well, I don't think that's the case anymore. The thing is, though, some of them are so young and have to learn and develop that it becomes a little more difficult to know just who we want to keep. I think no matter how it shakes there are going to be some disappointed fans because all the wr candidates have their supporters and I guess we're going to Have to cut at least a couple of them. It's a nice problem to have, though.
  18. I like Marlon a lot. Once again, like last year with SSS's arrival, he'll have some stiff competition for reps. Barring the dreaded "injury" word, one might envision SSS and Perriman as being the top two options, but only time will tell. Marlon's got everything he needs to excel. He's got size, speed, great hands, and an Awesome team-first attitude. It's hard not to root for success for him. I, for one, hope he sees the field more this year than he did last year. Harbaugh has stated that he'd like to lessen SSS's snaps to keep him fresh for the entire season, so that might help. But, bottom line, All the receivers are just going to have to earn their snaps and I just have a feeling that Marlon Will be busier this season. Wish him the best. Put the best ones on the field.
  19. I wish him the best of luck and appreciate his contributions to the team. At the same time, though, I hate to see our continuity in our scouting department tampered with. That doesn't mean that we won't continue to excel in that area. We have an exceptional FO, most likely the best in the business. It will make whatever adjustments are necessary to keep us on top. You can't blame a man for taking a well deserved, and hard worked for promotion. He is supporting his family in the best way he can. Good luck, Joe, but don't give away any of our secrets and don't steal our prospects,LOL.
  20. I've liked Pitta a lot ever since we drafted him. I'd watched him play in college and liked what I saw. Even though we took Dickson one round before Pitta, I thought from the beginning that Pitta would prove himself to be the better player. He's been one of my favorite Ravens. That's why I just can't help but be concerned for his future health and safety. For him, and his family's sake, I really hope he's making the right decision to come back. I am, and will continue to pray for him and his family. Dennis, I wish nothing but the best for you.
  21. I can't believe I'm actually reading some of our posters' comments indicating that they see similarities in the Cheatriots organization and our Ravens organization, in regards to having class. Cheaters do NOT have class! I can't say it any more clearly than that. I agree with the one guy who posted that he hates the Cheatriots even more than the Squealers, our perennial rival. I would actually prefer to say dislike rather than hate because I really Do try not to hate anyone. But, you know what I mean. I have, literally, NO respect for the Cheatriots, their owner, their coach, and their QB. I truly believe the word "class" when referencing them should Only be used to point out the utter Lack of it in Any way, shape, or form. I just have Always disliked cheaters and I Always will. Cheaters Never win anything, and any of their, so called, accomplishments are Forever tainted.
  22. Wow! I'm really impressed with this guy's attitude, the way he carries himself, and the class he portrays with the way he talks. So respectful, grateful, just full of class. To me, it's a bonus that he's from this area and still made his off-season home around here the whole time he was with the Cheatriots. The only thing I kind of shook my head at was hearing him talk about how much class the Cheatriot organization has. I'm sure, though, that he was, again, just showing how much class He had. Welcome to a Truly class organization, Kyle. I really hope he can play up to his 2011 season standards. I'm sure he is genuine, after reading a scouting report on him that lavished praise on him for being such a "great locker room presence, a team-first player, and a leader. Great to have you in our black and purple, Kyle. Now, why don't you have some fun and pick off a few of cry baby Brady's passes? He likes to throw your way, short passes over the middle.
  23. I think that was always the plan, but I'm a bit concerned that Brown just doesn't seem to be progressing. I mean, he's kinda been "absent without leave". He rarely even dresses, which might seem to indicate that the coaches aren't seeing what they need to see and don't even consider him to be the first backup in case of, heaven forbid, an injury to C J or Smith. Shoot, he's not, apparently, even able to carve out a place for himself on STs. I don't like to think it, but he might just be one of Ozzie's not too frequent misses. A trade wouldn't surprise me, but, first, Ozzie'd need to find a suitor. Hope I'm wrong about him, but he's shown pretty much Nothing since he got here.
  24. Awesome, salamander, I couldn't have said it better myself!
  25. Too late for that. At least, it Should be. He showed his True colors, who he really is, when he decided not to cooperate in the investigation. The time for honesty was during the investigation, not after deciding that he didn't like the penalty levied. Even with confession, one should be held accountable for their actions, and he received the penalty he did for the actions he Already committed.
