  1. I really, really, Really don't want the Ravens to play Any football games in London. REALLY!
  2. Has anyone at all been happy with the way Monroe has played since we signed him last year? I didn't think so. So, now, I'm going to push forward this idea just one more time. I would like to see whether KO could be a better LT than Monroe. KO, I believe, played LT all through college so he's experienced at it. Urschel, I'm pretty sure, could be ready to be a starter at LG. What better time to try this, not just in practice, but with game experience? If this does, in fact, strengthen our OL, it puts a whole new perspective on how much we want to try to keep KO. Yes, a LT costs more than a LG, but if KO shows us that he Can be a good LT, can anybody say that we don't need one? We really do need to upgrade that position from Monroe. He's Very soft, often injured, and weak when he's on the field. Let's face it, he's been a huge disappointment. With this season lost, really, the rest of our games should be all about player evals and questions like this. We need to know who we want to try to rebuild around and who we need to part ways with. I'd really like to see how this would turn out. KO plays with that mean streak that you like to see in the guy defending Joe's blind-side. I think we should see if this would be an upgrade or not.
  3. I think we've already ruined this season. Let's do what we can to improve our team for next season. I never thought i would say this, but every loss we suffer this season gives us a better draft choice next year and better access to the best blue chippers coming out. Just because I'm accepting reality and wanting what's best for our team in the long run doesn't make me any less of a fan than anyone else. This season has already been lost. I hope we don't hurt next year's chances to get Much better More quickly. If you really care about your team, sometimes you have to have a little vision. Suffer now, celebrate later. It would be different if we actually did have a chance for the playoffs And wouldn't embarrass ourselves by backing into them and getting pounded by the first good team we played, read the first round. Please, just have a little vision.
  4. I really Never thought that I would Ever say something like this, but I'm not so sure that the more games we lose from here on out, the better for us in the long run. I think most of us would admit that we are probably in a rebuilding mode. Well, if that's the case, and I think that it is, it seems like the best thing we could do is to get All our players as many snaps as we can in order to best evaluate who we want to keep and try to build around and who we'd rather say goodbye to, especially the younger players. I think we should experiment a little too. KO at LT, when he's ready to play again, and Urschel at LG, would tell us if that would strengthen our OL, and also help us determine if we want to try to re-sign KO. I think we should move on from Monroe if possible. Every loss gives us a better draft choice in each round, making better players available to us and our rebuilding an easier task to get done. I'm Certainly Not saying that we should Try to lose, Heavens No. But, I think at this point evaluating and beginning this rebuild might be the more responsible and beneficial goal. I believe that we've got a lot of work ahead of us to get back to being the good, competitive team we've always been, and I submit to you that the earlier we get started, the better.
  5. I hate to have to admit that I was amongst those hoping that we could get Monroe signed when we gave him his contract. I didn't see any other good options and I know/knew that good LTs are very difficult to find. I never really thought that Monroe was one of the best, but at the time I just didn't see what else we could have done. But, Man, has he been a disappointment. I think that he's one of those guys who really has no heart and played as well as he could only long enough to get the biggest contract he could get from us. Once he signed on the dotted line, his work was done. I don't think he cares about anything but his paycheck, goes through the motions, and actually doesn't really have much integrity. I think that all he did was take advantage of the Ravens because of the position he plays and the position the team was in. I really wish that we could find another team that is extremely weak at LT and that would be willing to trade for him so that we could get out from under his contract. The last thing we want is another case of having dead money that we, undoubtedly, would have by just cutting him. He duped us and I would like nothing more than to see him gone.
  6. I see the same thing. That's why I have wanted to see what he could do at LT. I am so disappointed with Monroe that I think we should be looking at alternatives in the hope of upgrading the position. I realize that KO is injured right now, but I'd like to see him given a chance to show us if he would be better at LT than Monroe when he gets healthy again. KO played LT, I believe, all through college so it's not like it would be totally new to him. And I definitely think that Urschel is ready to step up and play well as a starter at LG. If these moves would improve our OL, it would give us an added incentive to try to keep KO after this season when his contract expires. I really believe that we need to concentrate on figuring what we do and don't have as we move forward with this season. We are rebuilding. We need to fully evaluate All our players, especially the young ones, in game time experience to see who we want to build around and who we want to let go.
  7. The "fired dart" that you claim Joe could have thrown to Gilmore would have had to have been thrown Before Gilmore made his cut and looked back for the ball because Joe had two rushers coming at him hard and fast, one from his left front and one from his right front. Yeah, he might have been able to get the fired dart off but Gilmore would have had to find it, while it was in flight, the split second he turned his head to look for the pass. And, it being a "fired dart", it would have gotten to him really fast. So fast, in fact, that I think it doubtful he could have saw it, grabbed it, and held onto it. I think the shove by the defensive back was much more of a factor in the play. That shove prevented Gilmore from going towards the ball and gave the defender the momentum to get behind Gilmore enough to catch the pass. Sorry, but I just can't put that one on Joe. He, accurately, picked up on the blitz, thus realizing that his 6' 6" TE had single coverage by an 8" shorter defender, and tried to take advantage of the mis-match. He couldn't have anticipated the defender's shove on Gilmore. Actually that shove could have, at least arguably, drawn a flag. I think this play was just yet another instance of the way things have gone for us this year.
  8. I agree with you on your assessment of Marlon Brown. There should not be a roster spot on this team for him. He simply drops too many passes and is not good enough to be an NFL receiver. He's a practice squared at best. I can't agree with you, though, that the receivers and the TEs should be enough. I think Joe needs and deserves a better receiving corps than that. Hopefully, next season Perriman will prove himself to be what a lot of people on here still think he can be. But SSS will be gone. I think we will still need to upgrade our wrs, hopefully with a Proven free agent or two who really Do have some gas left in their tanks. We don't want any more Evans, Whosyourmamas, or such. Sorry, but I still think Joe does not have adequate weapons. He has no play-makers or game changers and has never, Ever had a true #1. I would just Love to see what he could do with a Good receiving corps instead of practice squaders, other teams' castoffs, late round draft choices, and over the hill free agents.
  9. Yeah, I agree. It's just a shame that it has taken so long for Harbaugh to resort to this kind of action. It's long past the time that he should have been holding his players to a higher degree of accountability. I hope that Brown is an inactive for the next game and that Jeremy Butler is given a chance to show what he can do. Harbaugh should have, by now, instituted fines for some of the most bone-headed and team hurting, stupid penalties that So many players have committed so frequently. These guys just Have to be held more accountable and learn that if they're not going to think when they're on the field and play with an acceptable level of self control, then it's going to cost them, both with playing time and in their wallets. With the playoffs out of the question now, we should be focusing more of our attention on finding out just what Every player brings to this team moving forward rather than placing All of our attention on winning. And, believe me, I NEVER would have thought that I would ever say something like that. I am just now convinced that, in the long run, and, even as soon as next year, refocusing our efforts in that direction would better serve the future of this team. We are in definite need of rebuilding, and in order to do that as quickly as possible we simply Must determine the talent level of Every player on this team. We have to find out who we want to keep as building blocks and who it's time to part ways with.
  10. I really hate to say this, but that one win in Pittsburg was, actually, a gift from Tomlin and Suisham. Who would have ever thought that Any Squealers would want to give Any gift to the Ravens?!!? Go figure!
  11. I don't know much, anything actually, about these guys you mention, but I do know one thing. If this guy, Tunsil, is as good as you say, "locks up the LT spot for the next ten years", I like the sound of that because Monroe just HAS to be improved on. We have a lot of weaknesses, but really good LTs are extremely hard to find or come by. And Monroe is SO injury prone, and he's weak when he's on the field as well. LT is the most important position on the OL, and we need a serious upgrade there. I hate the thought of continuing on with Monroe penciled in as our starter there. I have to believe that there is Some team out there that is weak at LT and would be willing to give Monroe a try. He might be an upgrade for Somebody because, just like QBs, good LTs are a rare commodity. Monroe's not good, but in Some teams' eyes he might be an improvement over what it has. I sure hope, though, that we can find someone a lot better than he has turned out to be. He's been a BIG disappointment. There's others, of course, but he's a glaring one.
  12. After what has happened with Perriman, and considering Ozzie's pathetic history of drafting wrs, I think Ozzie is going to be very reluctant to look for them in the draft. He'll probably look to fill other weak spots and go back to hoping to pick up wr help LATE in the draft. That's just my guess. For what it's worth, if we wind up with a top 5 pick in the draft, I would think it probable that Ozzie would trade down, which I think would be yet another huge mistake. Please don't misunderstand that last sentence. I am NOT implying he made a mistake drafting Perriman in the 1st rd in the last draft. I'm in the minority on here that still think Perriman has the potential and the skills to be a #1 receiver in this league. Nobody, and I mean, NOBODY, can predict injuries. I just think Ozzie was foolish for not having a "plan B" in the event that Perriman Did get injured. If we've learned anything from this Perriman situation, it's the fact that Ozzie did Not have a back-up plan. So, we're stuck watching every team we play dismiss the possibility of us stretching the field. Diggs in the 5th rd is what Ozzie should have done, instead of Tray Walker. Bad decision there.
  13. I pray that our FO could not Possibly make the mistake of not re-signing or, better yet, extending Justin Tucker. If the FO is too cheap to pay him what he's worth, then put the franchise tag on him, but do NOT let him get away. Actually, the tag would be a stupid move really. All it does is cause hard feelings by the player towards the team. Make him the highest paid kicker in the league, if that's what it takes, because that's what he is and this team should want him here, and want him here feeling happy. He is the best player on this team and it's most valuable one as well. Get this man signed. The sooner the better. Extending Yanda was a Great move. Getting Tucker locked up long term is an even Better move. That's how important this is. Just look at how many games end so close on the scoreboard. We NEED this man on our team. Get it done, Ozzie!
  14. Joe should not be blamed for that play. Under Heavy pressure he threw to his 6' 6" TE who was about 8 inches taller than his defender, in single coverage, and gave Gilmore a chance to make a play. A more experienced TE would probably have run a better route, gotten behind the defender, and caught the pass. It's real easy for all of us sitting at home watching the game to say he should have thrown it out of the end zone so that we would have had one more chance, but we didn't have a blitz going on and a rusher in our face. We'd have hailed him as a hero if Gilmore had caught that ball. With more experience, Gilmore Will make catches on passes like that.
  15. This team has so many needs that have been talked about a lot. But, I think that it's time we express the idea that there's another need that hasn't really been talked about nearly as much as some of the others and that's the fact that we have to have an upgrade at LT. Eugene Monroe, in my opinion, has been a Huge disappointment. LT's, good ones, are extremely hard to come by, so I think Ozzie better start giving it a Lot of thought. If we ever needed him to pull off one of his patented miracles, it would be to find us a Good LT. Monroe, when he's not hurt, looks pretty bad out there. He's weak.
  16. You make very good points. And it's been going on all season long. Your last point, about the team not playing hungry, angry, or with any hint of emotion, I believe, is directly accountable on the coaches. Particularly the HC. It is Their job to have the players motivated and ready to play. To be honest, it's a shame that it has to be that way. The players, themselves, should play with that inner fire, ala SSS. But, if our FO continues to provide the type players that do not play with emotion themselves, then, yes, it falls onto the coaches to light that fire and motivate their players to give their full effort. And, unfortunately, our coaches don't seem to have the ability to do that. So, as far as I'm concerned, shame on the emotionless players, and shame on the coaches for being unable to do anything about it.
  17. Coaching staff overhaul. One change in regards to players wouldn't make enough of a difference because we have so many needs for upgrades in that regard. But, the coaching staff really is a problem. Pees is Obvious. Trestman was a questionable hire. When Kubiak left, he took, what, 3 coaches with him? Harbs' replacements are inferior. In fact, Harbs, himself, is fast losing my confidence. So, I would say, my one change would be looking carefully at the Entire coaching staff and overhaul it as necessary. I think that a substantial number of changes are needed, with even the HC being a possibility. This team needs a rebuild, and it might not just be a rebuilding of the players.
  18. I'm not so sure that we've seen a "healthy" Webb for quite some time now. Perhaps since he signed his big contract. I think it was very wise of him to take a cut in pay last year. If he wants to stay another year, I think he will have to take yet another cut in pay, and this time I think it will have to an even bigger one. Even a contract for the league minimum might not be worth keeping him around for. He's more fragile than a piece of china.
  19. I couldn't agree more about what it says here about Perriman. I'm in what seems to be the minority of Ravens fans who still thinks that our selection of Perriman was a good move. Would I like to have already seen him on the field producing? Of Course! But, like the reporter pointed out nobody, and I mean NOBODY, can predict injuries. I think a big mistake with the Perriman situation was the way the Ravens handled all the reports of the injury and its updates on it. Time will tell, of course, but I believe that Perriman does, indeed, possess the ability to become a #1 receiver in the NFL. And I'm more than willing to let his injury Fully heal before he takes the field. I Totally agree where Ozzie made his mistake was in not having a viable option in the event that exactly what occurred would happen. To put All your eggs in one basket, especially when it involved a rookie, 1st rd choice or not, was extremely foolish and we're suffering as a team because of it. I sincerely hope that when Perriman is finally 100% healthy, he will justify his selection as our 1st rd draft choice. I still think that he can and will. I Do believe that Ozzie, as great as he's been over the years, has not quite been his normal sharp and successful self the past several years and that he should give some serious thought to perhaps revising his strategy moving forward as the NFL's game evolves. And I am NOT hating on Ozzie. I just think I've seen a drop in his success lately.
  20. I SO much want Yanda/KO to Not be a replay of this. I want KO to remain a Raven just like Yanda. This game is Still won or lost in the trenches, and I want our QB kept as safe as possible.
  21. So happy that we've got Yanda locked up. Losing him to free agency would have been, in my opinion, the biggest such loss we would have ever suffered. He's a Raven through and through and has been since the day he arrived. I know the chances are slight that we can keep KO, as well, but I sure would like to see it happen. You know, KO played Tackle all through college and I'm still wondering if sliding him outside to LT would be an upgrade over Monroe, who I think has been a disappointment and not played up to the contract we gave him. I, also, know that if we were to give that a try and found that, indeed, it Would be an upgrade KO would cost us even more money to retain him. But, if that improved our LT position, over the often injured Monroe, we could try to find a team in need of a LT and move on from him. I think that Urschel is ready to move into the starting line at LG should we be able to pull this off. The rest of this season should be all about us finding who we feel should be in our future and who should not. We have a lot of dead money coming off the books and Joe's contract redoing ahead of us for next year, so I think that if this idea Would prove to be an improvement of our OL, I have to believe that it would, actually be doable. The re-signing of KO, that is. And even if we kept him at guard, we might find that Urschel would then be an improvement at Center from Zuttah. Now is the time to find these things out since the playoffs, seriously, are not a realistic goal any longer. I just think that, although maybe difficult, we should do all we can to hang onto KO. Just one fan's opinion.
  22. Thank you for taking the blame for throwing away Two timeouts in the second half that we sorely needed at the end of the game, Harbs. But, the fact of the matter is that you have consistently shown a weakness in clock management over the years and it's something you have to own and improve on. Bottom line.
  23. There is none. Oh, Harbs and the players throw some names out there but, in honest reality, there really is none. And to be honest, if not actual Leadership, we should at least be able to count on direction, motivation, and enthusiasm by the HC, but does anybody Really see any evidence of that? I don't.
  24. I'm Very glad that Harbaugh put some of the blame on himself in that pathetic effort to save time on the clock. There was plenty of blame to go around, but Harbaugh was probably the Most at blame. But, that's really nothing new. I've said, all along, that one of Harbaugh's biggest weaknesses, perhaps his biggest, is clock management and in-game decisions. All coaches have their strengths and weaknesses, that's for sure. There isn't a perfect coach out there. But, I think that Harbugh's issues he just Has to improve on is that clock management, in-game decisions, and his ego. Please don't think I'm ragging on him. He has his attributes as well. I'm just trying to give my honest assessment of his strengths and, in this case, his weaknesses. These are the ares I think he needs to improve on if he wants to be considered a good NFL coach. You know, it's easy to Look good when you're riding the coat-tails of Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. But, where you really get exposed is when you have to step up and be the leader, yourself, that a team needs. So far, I don't see a lot of that happening. I'm surely hoping for better. Oh yeah, add one more "problem" with Harbs. He has a sense of loyalty to his coaches that is often too strong and is, actually, a detriment to the team. If we don't see a fairly significant improvement with our team going forward with this season, I think Steve Bisciotti just might give some serious thought and evaluation into just how much confidence he still has with Harbaugh at season'e end. I have a feeling Everything is going to be Carefully and Fully studied by him. Bisciotti has an Extremely great desire to be a winner. I still remember that he had given Billick a vote of confidence, saying that he would be back, but numerous players spoke to him, letting him know that Billick had lost the locker-room, and Bisciooti changed his mind and fired him. I'm not suggesting this will happen this time, but I think he will have Everything on the table.
  25. C'mon, FO! Move this kid up to the top of the list for his season Tickets. Seriously, who deserves them more? This is a future RavenManiac if I ever saw one. If you can't do that, then get him on the sidelines for games and let him be amongst his heroes.
