9 wins is much better than 8. It's not meaningless! With all the off season babble, we'll feel much better about that 9th win.
Yes sir.
Harbaugh so arrogant, just rest Flacco and the other starters. Who cares you finish 9-7 or 8-8, by loosing we get a better player.
You are the arrogant one. No team should want to lose and their fans shouldn't either.
9 wins is much better than 8. It's not meaningless! With all the off season babble, we'll feel much better about that 9th win.
9 wins 8 wins, it's a losing season.
You need a math lesson.
He got paid I consider that a success but I hope he learns how to BLOCK!
Learn how to stop being negative lol.
Mr. 0 puss rush. All he wants to do is bat passes down. Shhhhhh!
You are really sick man. He plays like a Raven so zip it!
Don't understand the logic in playing the starters, if you're thinking about the future, makes sense to take the L. Move up a few slots in the upcoming draft, winning could potentially miss out on a potential franchise player, this "character" game is pointless
Don't understand your logic. Maybe you should check your character as a fan. I've heard it all now. Go Ravens.
We will see if the coaches are all talk when they say they will play this last game to win. Nobody expects the players to lie down and lose on purpose but it they sit Flacco and a few other starters that is the same thing. We will see. I expect them to sit as to not risk injury. If it ends up being a loss and a better draft slot then all the better. The season is over people.
Not to the Ravens is it over. Go Ravens!
gonna have to disagree with Suggs, losing for a better draft pick at this time isnt about creating character or a bad habit. its about being strategic, looking at the bigger picture, the future of the franchise. the season is lost, the game meaningless in the sense of playoff implications. the only things as players to play for is pride and incentive bonuses. dont let your pride get in the way of something bigger!
If we win and everyone else loses we get the 20th pick... if we lose and everyone else wins we end up with the 15th pick. In reality if we win... some others will do the same and we will end up somewhere between 16-19 regardless.
It is not like if we lose we jump into the top 10 and if we win... we fall out of the top 20. on the average we will pick around 17th... win or lose. So is a spot or two in the middle of the pack worth a non-winning season?
That's crazy. You win... especially against a team who has owned us over the past few years. You dominate a divisional foe and use that win to springboard into next season.
If we beat the Bengals... that leaves us at 5-1 in the AFC North for the year. That is a lot to build off of. But losing your final two and 3 of your last 4... that is a little harder to frame that going into next season
No the one or two spots you would gain (at best) is not worth what you would lose.... it has nothing to do with ego or pride and everything to do with setting us up with confidence knowing that we can dominate our division going into next year.
A split with the Bengals and Sqeelers would be a much harder sale then going 5-1 in the division.
We need to WIN this game!Need to win for what? What gain at this point is there? We still miss the playoffs regardless, in the draft you can easily miss out on a player just from positioning. Win or loss we still out of playoff contention, we should be thinking about the next season and a few slots higher is more important than a meaningless game at the end which players will move on from once the season is over
Don't know what team you are thinking of but no way the Ravens intentionally lose any game. Shame on you as a Ravens fan.
You know, maybe if we weren't playing the Bengals in Cincinnati I would be more comfortable with the idea of losing to increase our draft position. But man, I don't wanna lose to this group of degenerates again. I've really grown to dislike the Bengals over the last few years, mainly because of Pacman and Vontaze. When you play guys like that, guys who want to hurt other players intentionally, you play to beat them into the dirt. I hope we embarrass that defense.
Amen to that.
Just let Tucker attempt a 70 yarder FG this week!!!
There is literally nothing to lose now. I'm sure Bengals would love to see history in the making too. Do it and give all the fans something to really talk about in a otherwise run of the mill game.
No game is run of the mill for our Ravens. They will fight just as hard if we had won last week BUT I would love to see that 70 harder! Go Ravens.
Fans are disappointed sure. How do you think the players and coaches feel? I admire our team. That never quit and never give up attitude is music to my ears. Go Ravens. By the way, Harbs is a very good coach!
We were a foot away from winning the AFC north after playing a team on a 5 game winning streak, in their place, with the top RB and top WR and one of the top QBs in the league. And you guys want to fire everyone and start over. I think you'd be happier in Cleveland, they start over every two years.
No, Sorry but we still would have needed to win this week in cincy. Not an easy task for a jimmy less team.
Sorry but no one player makes a team. We fought a great game but lost.
Didn't even bother to read whatever Eisenberg wrote up there. Anything short of firing Harbaugh won't result in much progress. The Ravens need fiery, demanding and no-nonsense coaches that would provide accountability and leadership that the Ravens so clearly lack. Problem is, Harbaugh never hires that kind, he detests them, and only hires washed up, docile types that are just grateful to have a job.
-I've thoroughly studied Harbaugh, and I just don't like him as a head coach. I'll throw out two instances(of many) that are very telling: (1). Still boggles my mind that he hired an unaccomplished college position coach in Greg Mattison to become our DC, successfully producing some of the worst Ravens defenses we've seen. Passed over all the quality people in-house, and somehow convinced management to let him reduce the Ravens coaching staff to something he uses to shore up his friendships. Now, we are loaded with a cast of reject coaches(mostly from Philadelphia) with absolutely nothing to show for it. (2) One of the first things Harbaugh did when he got to Baltimore was to summon Ray Lewis and tell him that he was no longer allowed to do his pre-game dance. It didn't matter to Harbaugh that his teammates and the fans look forward to that dance, it got them fired-up and it was pretty much tradition with the Ravens. Nah, it was now 'the harbaugh show' and he was selfishly going to do things his way...forget the Ravens way! Ray Lewis, being the wise fellow he is did not take offense to it, but told him to consult with the rest of the team before reaching that decision...the rest of the players told Harbaugh that there was no way he could get rid of the dance! Ray Lewis steadied the ship for Harbaugh many times over the years, whenever his head-scratching decisions irked a veteran team, but with that initial selfish and egotistical move, he could have completely alienated the best player on his team, if not the whole team. Sure, it's not all Harbaugh's fault, but his fragile ego would never let him hire the right coaches who coach the Ravens' way, thus he's impeding the progress of this team. I expect many to disagree with me, but two years from now when we're still mired in mediocrity some of you would come around. Happy holidays!
Yes I'm sure he is really upset that you don't like him. I would imagine you would feel differently had we won. Fans always blame the coach when things go sour. I'm sure you hated him when we were in the playoffs constantly or when we won the SB. Fickle fans. Happy New Year.
Bengals27 Ravens24
Terrible outlook for this team who have busted their buns for the fans. Stop watching if this is all you can muster for them on the final game. Go Ravens.
"ALOT" of people like and want to take the Ravens but they have lost games they should have won and really shouldn't be in this situation at all! Should be 11-3! Joe is fired up now and I want him to you guess it "KEEP SLINGING THAT ROCK" and if he adds more pump fakes to his repertoire the Lombardi Trophy will be rite there! We are the only AFC team that can beat the pats! THEY DONT WANT US TO WIN
Dude come on... 496 yards of total offense allowed to the pats. I bet you the pats wished they played the Ravens 3 times in the playoffs. They will cream us over and over again. The scoreboard didnt paint an accurate picture of what really happened in that game. We got manhandled in every phase of the game. Byrne said the team was fired up for the showdown in NE, yeah they sure showed us. Now Byrne is saying the team is fired up for the Steelers on Xmas. Looks like Big Ben is hanging 6TDs on us AGAIN!
Yes but we're still standing aren't we? Don't watch if you think we will be slaughtered. Wouldn't want you to see those 6 TDs. Go Ravens!!
We need to get the run game going as well. Joe can't throw 50 times in this game. Ben hasn't lit things up lately either. Just one TD last week. Unfortunately it was a back breaker. Go Ravens.
Too bad the FO failed to address this obvious need over the off season. Jimmy Smith has been injury prone for his entire career and we didn't get adequate help to offset the drop-off in talent when he suffers one of his frequent injuries.
Stuff happens.
That wasn't the worst call Ive seen. A lot had to go wrong to make it the worst call. If Flacco hadn't thrown a bone head interception it wouldn't have been such a bad call. If the Defense had stopped the Eagles just ONCE after that it wouldn't have been such a bad call. ( Im not saying it wasn't a bad call..it was. But it wasn't the WORST call of all time like people are saying.) So a lot had to go into it and a lot of people had to fail to make it the worst call of all time.
Every fan on here makes mistakes and just because Flacco threw a intercept doesn't make him a bone head. I'm sick and tired of these constant negative comments if the Ravens do something wrong. Every player in the league at one time or another makes mistakes. Even Brady believe it or not. Stop with the complaining. The game is over. Move on.
Stanley is the least of our concerns... top two things to worry about are the lack of Jimmy Smith and how many Flacco turnovers we are likely to suffer.
Give it a rest. Think positive. Flacco will do just fine.
Watching our team on Sundays has been frustrating- to say the least. What will Christmas Day be like ? A Ravens victory- or do we start filling our bags with coal to send to Owings Mills ?
Santa is just going to have to deal with milk of magnesia (MOM) with his cookies for this year.
Win or lose you know they will give their all. Go Ravens.
Weddle is and always has been one of the most overrated players in the league.
Who are you? Check your info before posting.
totally agree! but it's because he's not on a winning team.
I'd disagree with that one. We do have a winning record at this time. The Ravens are winners my friend. Many more wins than losses if I'm correct. Go Ravens.
Considering what Weddle has to work with he deserves something for coming here and putting up with these guys.
You need to take a vacation. A long one. You have been on this demeaning kick all season. I really should learn not to read your posts.
when ZORN was here FLACCO also had his best season, then abrupty fired by HARBAUGH.
Any body else you want to crucify?

You are barking up the wrong tree. Stop blaming Flacco for everything that goes wrong. There are other players on this team. There were several games where one thing or another caused the loss. Get over it and move on.
