  1. Joe is moving real well and should be able to put up three TD'. Along with Tucker they can win with 27-31 points if Pees gives the secondary the chance to play they are capable of playing. They won't be able to dig themselves out if u set them back 8 to 10 yards.
  2. The jury is out on the first rd pick. It's not even the end of preseason and the feeling I have is something I hope to regret so I will stick with it's too early to tell and x my fingers. Meanwhile I think Crockett looks real good for a guy who wasn't used much to catch last year.Man's tough. So of course with the one ounce of football knowledge I have I see Jaelen Strong looking good - a character issue in the 3rd rd and I do a MMQB thing and wonder if the gamble on the first two picks will pay off. Well every pick is a gamble.
  3. It's not news that Perriman was diagnosed with a sprained PCL. I have no idea what the prognosis is for a return. While it appears less serious than an ACL tear, it nevertheless is serious. The PCL is one of two ligaments along with the ACL attached to the knee. I suppose if u want to make an uneducated guess u could look on the bright side and speculate a sprain maybe less severe than a tear. If all he was expected to do in his rookie year was to stretch the field they can live without him. Hensley reported his condition.
  4. They picked two early round receivers and they have a barn full of potential that may outplay Perriman anyway. The season doesn't depend on him repeating what four guys from last years draft did. What he's focusing on no one knows. Either he catches the ball and he plays or not. He's not some kid on the jv squad. He's a pro. Really.I'm more interested in seeing Max and Buck do real well.
  5. The game in on the playing field not the media.
  6. Kraft ran up against the consensus of league owners who want this quieted down. It's one thing to give fans in Foxborough their time to rant and rave during the appeal. It's another for Tom Brady to lose a lot of money. There was an article and no I don't have the site but it was maybe two days ago. It related the fall from grace following the story and the undoing of his appeal to sponsors. Brady makes his money, contract documentation notwithstanding, on his name. He wins the coveted life style award but at the same time his character appeal fell significantly. Suffice to say his worth in the after market for products and appearances will hurt him a lot more than anything Goodell can do. It's business and they gave Tom the business. A million to Kraft? That's nothing according to his image. Perhaps not as lasting as the losses sustained by Tiger Woods but not chump change either I suspect. Anyway it's time for the Ravens to stop smarting over this and move on.
  7. Stay cool man. Show 'em you're the real deal.
  8. The Ravens are gambling that Perriman's injuries won't continue into his pro career and believe his development will make him a number one receiver. A successful number one. And they've gambled at the same time on the secondary arguably the weakest link at the close of last season. Time to move forward and see how Harbaugh makes this combination work into the flow. There's every reason to believe they can win the division and get that coveted bye and home advantage in the playoffs.
  9. I don't know that Waller will see the field a lot in his first year but this clip speaks volumes about his size. Left PJ Williams wondering where he went. Of course NFL comp will be stiffer but it can't hurt having him running around in the EZ. http://espn.go.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/19767/ravens-draft-wr-darren-waller-in-the-sixth-round
  10. GB was not ahead of the Ravens when it came to Rollins. But after Peters and Kevin Johnson in retrospect the Ravens weren't in a hurry to grab someone. Who else was picked after that? Josh Shaw, Doran Grant? Were they even in the discussion? Rowe, Collins and Darby were gone too. No one left in the second was a BPA compared to Maxx. Carl Davis? How lucky can u get? On CBS mocks he appeared in the first round from time to time. If a guy like Breshad can leap for balls and catch them over his shoulder than why worry about a few drops on the easy ones. He took his eye off it or whatever. He needs better competition which he will find in the NFL.
  11. Prisco had him drafted at 14 on the day of the draft at CBSsports.com If he wants to proclaim boom or bust now than we might as well not show up for the first game and start flipping burgers. Move on. He's a good pick. Everyone is going for the corners and edge rushers early on so Ozzie gives them something to worry about. Torrey ran into some drops in his first training camp and promptly came out and broke the rookie record for TD's in his third game with three TDs. Who else was on the board? Gregory? Just what the Ravens don't need right now. Peters and Gordon were gone. Eddie Goldman? Malcolm Brown but there's no value there at this time. Byron Jones OK he may be good but the Ravens needed some inspiration. A kick start if u will. If they got Dorsett it would just be soso. Sure a first round WR but nothing special. You got the mid rounds besides the number 2 and 3 to go. Just getting started.
  12. The thing with Breshad is the other picks are to get after the QB or defend the receiver. So Ozzie and Co. do their own go route and pick the guy who can catch and run. Smooth operation.
  13. Oz is plugging up the middle. Added the right chemistry to the back end. Got his blocker/receiver. What else can u ask for? Fantastic!! The rest of the draft is gravy.
  14. From the Sun: "He graded out as the 22nd-ranked center in the NFL last year, according to Pro Football Focus, and did not allow a sack all season. However, he became expendable when the Buccaneers signed free-agent center Evan Dietrich-Smith, formerly of the Green Bay Packers. " Hope he works out. Can breathe a sigh of relief that Gradkowski won't be out there. Leaves WR and opens the door for speculation on Calvin Pryor over a first round Ebron, Lee or Cooks. Early season the bobbleheads predicted Oz would not pick another safety in rd one but I think that may have been premature. Since Oz has deep reservations about WR's in the early rounds and success with Pitta in the middle and Torrey in the second I would not be surprised to be a complete update on their needs forthcoming. Sure another tackle. But now a DE can be moved up the ladder and even a ILB or NT. This is a good move given the circumstances. Hey Zuttah gave up no sacks. That's is the best news yet.
  15. Trade down for Austin Seferian-Jenkins in rd 2, and pick up a third round pick with Gabe Jackson.
  16. They've been looking for him? A slot receiver. A tough guy with good hands. Well they gave one away. Hey we all make mistakes but it seems odd that NE gets what it needs, SF, Seahawks, Saints even the Giants and Browns now. And Broncos. It's too cozy a party for some of these teams to get exactly what they need and their cap never gets too high it seems. Need someone for 45 mill sure we'll get one. The field doesn't seem level. But since when was life fair? Never. As for the Ravens going out and getting Edelman? I think they have the cap dollars as it were. I'd be surprised but it would be a welcome addition. I'm surprised that there is smoke among the media that suddenly the Ravens are going to get the CB and FS in round 1 and 2 and forego their efforts at center and right tackle. Who needs a young WR when we have Smith?I don't buy the news in the media. No matter who writes it.
  17. Of course Smith is signing. Where else is he gonna go? There is less than a one in ten chance of Ozzie picking a defensive player in rd 1. Rumors of Aaron Donald and Cyrus are a smoke screen. No way. I think as soon as the pick is made everyone will go... yeah that's a good one. It will just make sense. And round two will fall into place and so will 3-5. I have no doubt this will be the best draft class in years for the Ravens.
  18. Seahawks, Jets, Bucs, Browns, Eagles, Saints, Gints and Pats playing musical chairs. Sounds like a melodrama written by a group of GMs and signed off by the media. All too convenient.
  19. Assuming for a moment they don't lavish cap $ on any name WR I wonder about FS. An over achieving middle grade on the cheap if there is one. In the draft there are a few with solid credentials and hard work ethics starting with Deone Bucannon and Jimmie Ward, Craig Loston and Dixon. I don't see how the Ravens can pass over a tackle and WR in rounds one and two. It's just the order depending on availability. Could fall into a TE instead but playing for Monroe while watching carefully how the market played out before Tuesday leaves Ozzie in the cat bird seat. He may not sweep but he can probably pick up four potential starters for the next five years. Bring on Denver.
  20. Jacoby came in at an affordable price. He's tough. why change horses now?
  21. Eugene reportedly in deep contract talks w/ Oz- game over. Marcus Martin: highest ranked center in draft: rd 2 Ravens. JuJuan James rd 3 tackle Lee rd 1 Got your starting OL, added WR; Terrence Brooks S FSU or playmaker Ahmad Dixon S Baylor or Antonio Richardson Vols G might be around in rd 4 to stack the house for Joe.
  22. Sticking to the script I'd say that whomever Harbaugh chose the chain of command had issues with it. Keep looking. Someone will say yes.
  23. Unless the NSA tapped Kyle's cell and he leaked Pentagon secrets to Belichick he's the next OC. U don't keep a high profile legacy on the no-fly list for long. IMHO.
  24. If it was Hostler the game would be over. It has to be Kyle because he get's Snyder's goat when Joe throws for 4500 yards with 35 TD's and 7 INTs and Ray and Bernard total 1700 yds. Of course Oz will also pick a WR in rd 1.
