Starks responding to a question about making a change at quarterback because Flacco was taking a beating behind a porous offensive line - “Beating or no beating, I’d pull [Flacco] out of the game. The honest truth is he lost the game for the Ravens. That is the way I look at it. He gave up ten points [off of his interceptions]... And Flacco did not claim it, when they asked about the interception to Perriman, he said it was a timing pass. No, it was a bad pass in a one-on-one situation. Claim it. Don't say ‘we’, it was you today!”Jackson followed Starks by saying - “[Flacco] has to play better, he is the quarterback, he is the franchise. They paid him a bunch of money, and that is fine....but when you come out in the second half and only have 43 yards of total offense in the second half, 2.5 yards per pass completion, 2 of 8 on third down. [He] is the quarterback, he is the engine, everybody is looking at him and he is not getting it done.”
Yes, and every QB in the league will insist he can stay in the game and get it done when he is hurt. It is up to the HC to put a stop to it and pull him when it becomes obvious his heart is in it but his body can't get it done. I said as much in another thread, and got totally blasted by you for being a "Flaccopologist."
You have yet to answer me, are you saying Harbaugh should NOT have benched him? Because it seems to me Harbs was sidelined by the stomach flu, and incapable of being tough.
6 minutes ago, Ravenseconbeast said:Inaccuracy is Joe's fault. Oh boo hoo poor Joe. But cut Suggs w/ bicep tear? Who cares and get rid of rest of the players and scrap the OC, the oline w/o even a wink is fine.
The whole moderator community bias here is laughable. You guys created this community that only sponsors Joe and 'cut/blame' rest of the organization on this forum. Hope you really enjoy that.
I'm biased because I said Harbaugh should have recognized Joe's injury and benched him in the 2nd half? What, are you saying you DIDN'T want Joe benched? And who said anything about Suggs?
Your post makes absolutely NO sense.

+1000
Interesting factoid just came up on MNF - Gary Kubiak spent eight years in Houston under .500 before getting fired. Y'all don't think Harbs has earned that?
Hilarious to see the crowd booing Osweiler so hard, when it was basically Elway's decision to let him walk...

This guy obviously doesn't watch the Browns, Rams, Bears, or Texans. Clue: tune in tonight and see if you want either of these guys over Joe.
Talib is such a butt-hole...

I know. I said it after the SB, the player we would miss most was Matt Birk, more than Lewis, Reed, or Boldin. I keep hoping Urschel will grow into that role, but it hasn't happened yet.

And the less said about this coming FA group, the better. Assuming the Packers lock up Tretter (which is the Packers way) AQ Shipley will be a top five player at that position on the market. Let that sink in for a minute.
Amen. On a playoff team, no less.
Nobody's mentioned the impact of the injury to Joe's throwing shoulder. As of Friday he was still questionable to play, and then needed more "treatment" during warm-ups to start. It's pretty obvious to me by the 4th quarter the cortisone shots had worn off and he was playing through tremendous pain.
Inaccuracy was not Joe's fault. Harbaugh should have had the guts to bench him for his own good. Obviously they have no confidence in Mallet.
Wow. Can the team please hire @GrimCoconut in any capacity whatsoever? All excellent ideas.
Beyond that, two weeks of ice and ibuprofen should do wonders for Flacco's throwing shoulder. Accuracy should improve with rest.

i said he is an good OC.
i said he might be a good HC ( people might actually learn from past mistakes)
i also said keep him away from personell decisions and drafting and it might work out. Also im not going to discuss our current QB way of playing nor will i attempt to compare his stats to those of those terrible QBs that played in mcdaniels system since people get riled up way to quick if i suggest or QB is not the 2nd coming of jesus.
Can you name one head coach in this league who has zero input on drafting or personnel decisions? One?
How on earth would that even work? That's just crazy.

Are we talking about the same guy who got caught cheating but still finished the final 22 games of his HC career at 5-17 (taking over a team that was disappointing at 8-8 after being projected to win the AFC West), the guy who would take every bad situation and exacerbate it to the nth degree, the guy who chased out an admittedly kooky Jay Cutler but was forced to take Kyle Orton instead, who traded Peyton Hillis and a draft pick to Cleveland (where he put up over 1,000 yards) for a QB who appeared on the active roster one time because he, ahem, supposedly "hit on his wife," who chased out Brandon Marshall, who drafted Knowshon Moreno with #12, who had Earl Thomas sitting at his pick (couldn't miss prospect) but traded the pick for Alphonso Smith (who he traded for Dan Gronkowski), who picked Tim Tebow in the first round, who gave three and a half mil guaranteed to a guy who failed to make the roster out of training camp, who chased out every affordable veteran already under contract to try and pick up expensive New England free agents--even at LONG SNAPPER--who became so hated among Denver players for his erratic behavior and score-settling that the entire city revolted against him at one point, who had Mike Nolan literally just QUIT on him and say that McDaniels is so unprofessional that he was impossible to work with, and who then went to St. Louis, who needed a press conference to assure furious fans that he would have no input into personnel decisions, and put up the 11th worst offense in NFL history at 12.1 points per game?
Sure, what could possibly go wrong? We'd be lucky to have him. That's why he didn't get hired in 2016. So many teams were fighting over Josh that they all had to agree not to hire him and wait until 2017.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I'd forgotten just how horrible his time in Denver really was. There's even a website devoted to how much JoshMcDanielsSucks if you're looking for a few laughs. Too much profanity there to provide a link.
I agree with everything being said here about the OLine. Fix that, you fix most of our problems.
I also can't believe all of the Flacco-bashing going on. We've been saying since TC we need to protect Joe better to have any chance at all. Yeah, his game's off, but we knew his knee wasn't 100% going into this season, and he's been running for his life for four games. Not to mention, we're asking him to throw 40+times a game with inflammation in the rotator cuff of his throwing shoulder, while getting the crap beat out of him on almost every play, of course the accuracy's not going to be there.
I dont know what people think they're watching, but I see the heart of a warrior

Or Flacco. Or West.

Do you people even look at the snap counts before you ask these questions?
Who are we holding back at this point?
I think this year's entire draft class was playing yesterday, and half of them were starting.
29 minutes ago, HoldingCall said:These over the top QB contracts hurt more than help the teams as a whole. The future will hopefully adjust these backward as more good quality QBs come out of the college ranks.
Or, just raise the salary cap so that these inflated contracts don't have such a negative impact. Pretty simple solution, actually, we keep hearing about it, but it comes in such small drips it's not making an impact. Double the cap, teams can afford to develop and retain players.

To be fair Jay Cutler hasn't done anything of note in Chicago. Jay Cutler keeps getting a pass.
True, but Tebow can't even get a backup job. Cutler's still at least a starter in this league.
9 hours ago, BmoreBird22 said:Why's that?
He's the guy who got rid of Cutler after his 3Rd season, when Jay threw for 4500 yds and went to the ProBowl, then traded up in the draft to go get Tebow.
The entire city of Denver is laughing right now at anybody suggesting him for a HC position.
Also, thinking you can bring in a HC who'll agree to having no input on personnel decisions is insanity. Never gonna happen.
6 hours ago, kjbmore said:Mods can you please change the title of the thread to - Time to play our kids / draft picks
We're doing that, and not on purpose - it's because of injuries. Playing our kids is what is getting Joe killed out there, and it's not like we have a choice.
