  1. What kind of logic is that? JJ had other "obligations" during OTA's. He chose not to train and instead do a TV show that kept him from training and rightfully so he wasn't in shape. What kept "Ro" from training and getting ready for his conditioning test? He wasn't working, he didn't do anything.

umm...school? getting a degree? raising two toddlers? Seems like pretty important stuff to me.

Has anyone considered that maybe the test was set up for him to fail, just to determine how committed he is? Does he come in and re-double his efforts to make the team, or does he give up? That this visit was more a test of character than physical prowess?

Is it also possible that reports of how badly he bombed were exaggerated to/by the media, that the team is putting up a smokescreen around Rolando because they know something we don't? They're already backing off the reports that he showed up late.

It doesn't make sense; if they were looking to release him, wouldn't you think they'd keep a poor performance under wraps and try to trade his rights before the draft?

  2. OMG, that's hilarious!!!

Love how Smith will just go out and fight for the ball instead of laying in the turf whining for an interference call (umm...Eric Decker anyone?)

Nothing but love from Panther's fans who really know him, that's awesome.

Soooo excited by today's news!     :229031_cheer:

  3. I do think we can do both: if we get a veteran slot receiver - like Steve Smith or Edelman, for example - and draft his successor... T%his way we'd have a short term solution and the long term solution's mentor, and also the long term solution...

    Exactly!

Steve Smith is that tough physical Boldinesque receiver we've been missing, a crisp route-runner who's not afraid to go up in traffic and fight for the catch. Still leaves room for Jacoby and Marlon in those 4 WR sets I bet we see a lot of this year.

Also gives us the option of drafting someone like Evans or Benjamin, a "raw" prospect who needs some time to develop, but has tremendous up-side and the potential to become that #1 we've been looking for.

  4. Today I'm mainlining all the Linda Ronstadt I can find.

In a forty year career that spanned every genre from pop to country, Spanish traditionals and opera, nobody can touch her range, depth and power. One of the most gorgeous voices ever to be recorded. The world has truly lost a treasure.

Announced yesterday she's been diagnosed with Parkinson's, and is no longer able to sing.

    Mi corazon se esta rompiendo.

  5. But we all knew why they were asking him to take a pay cut. Just going to the numbers online you could see that $7.5million wasn't going to fit under the cap and allow them to do too much more. Sounded to me like he thought they just wanted him to take cut "because".

Well, if it's so easy to figure out, and WE all knew why it was happening because all you have to do is look it up online, what makes you think Q was so clueless?

More like everybody's trying to save face.

If what you say is true, I'd expect to hear that Boldin's firing his agent upon his return from Africa.

  6. I guess it's just the media who wanted to write up a report and quickly did it without confirming it.

yeah, where have we seen this before? Anybody want to buy some deer antler spray?

No wonder Q refused to comment on the "news", which is nothing but rampant speculation.

The fact that both sides backed off from cutting ties late Fri is heartening. Yeah, we have to replace Boldin eventually, and no, you can't pay forward for previous performance, but nobody plays with more heart and dedication than Q.

I just don't know if the youngsters are ready yet. I think another year of Q's influence could pay off immeasurably down the line. I, for one, hope the FO sees this.

  7. Born in DC, grew up "in the corridor", moved out west in1979.

Came back for two years while my Dad was doing cancer tx at Hopkins - graduated JHUSON in 2009.

Currently live in a TINY cow-town on the Rocky Mountain front, an hour from Glacier National Park, the Canadian border, and the fiercely independent Blackfeet Nation. With no local teams, football season gets real interesting around here.

Hang a banner, plant purple and yellow flowers every fall, gonna put out some of those those purple and black flamingos in the yard this year.- people think I'm nuts.

    Love my Ravens!!
