  1. I think the offense protected him alot last season as he was overmatched a few times. However, one thing that was never overmatched was his toughness. He had really good technique for the most part, but just didn't seem strong enough. I think a full NFL strength and conditioning programs paired with the teaching of Juan will do wonders for Hurst.

On that note, much props to Juan Castillo, that guy took so much crap from the fanbase two years ago. But he's done a great job developing our young oline. Guys like KO, Wagner, Urschel and Hurst owe him a lot. Hell even Gino developed well enough to have another team trade for him.

    Gotta second that.

Time for some well-deserved Castillo love.

The O-Line now looks like the strongest group on the team going into this season.

  2. Flacco is also a family man, and he'll do what's best for his family before anything else. I honestly can't imagine Flacco playing for another team, but at the same time pro football is a business and stranger things have happened...

yeah, but Joe strikes me as one of those guys who knows what's best for his family isn't just about the money.

What's best might be not having to move with three little kids (and planning more!), staying close to home and the grandparents in NJ, and in a place that he loves with a job that he loves. Maybe you just couldn't pay him enough to move to, say... Oakland?

  3. Ted Wells fires back, he is not scare of #12 and Yee, bascially daring Yee to show the world his copious notes. Turns out Ted Wells is the wolf, not Yee or #12. http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/ted-wells-eviscerates-tom-brady-and-the-new-england-patriots/ar-BBjGyaY  Go Ted Wells!!!

Said he never would have responded except for the personal attacks on his integrity from Yee.

LOVE Charley Casserly's take on this: two different PR campaigns being waged using two different strategies - Wells responded with facts, Brady's camp responding with nothing but personal attacks.

Anybody who thinks the league is out to get the Pats is seriously delusional - no way they wanted this, it's nothing but a black eye for everybody.

  4. Football needs some type of Internal Affairs.  Goodell is mad with power and though I like the punishment, where was his for the Rice situation?  He punished the "team", for Brady's wrong doing and once again, basically claimed guilt by association.  From what I've read and heard, its seems "more probably than not", that he knew exactly what happened in that elevator and played stupid.  The fact you can't question him, his staff or refs is crazy, even after they've made egregious errors.

Goodell turned over his cell phone during the RR investigation. It's being speculated that's why he's so salty at Br*dy for refusing.

He will get it reduced to two games on appeal.

    Bet 'cha.

Again, the league probably won't listen to Br*dy's appeal until he turns over the phone.

  5. What Grapple said.

we're not talking about sending Br*dy to jail, we're talking suspension from his job. Thus "more probable than not" is the standard used by the NFL for discipline. There's no precedent being set here, that's always been the standard.

It's also in the league by-laws that players must cooperate with league investigations, and Br*dy refused to do that. Vincent made it very clear that Br*dy's accomplishments, etc. do not exempt him from this.

  6. I ordinarily don't like Michael Silver, but he really took Brady to task today, for his arrogant laughing on stage the other night, for letting his idiot of an agent go off on paranoid rants, and also for his refusal to cooperate - even pointing out that Goodell turned over his own cell phone during the RR investigation, so didn't take too kindly to Brady's refusal.

I agree, 4 games is too short, but' I'm thrilled w/ the loss of draft picks.

  7. This thread is deviating from its original intent, to an extent.

    Agreed.

Discussion of who you would have rather drafted, draftees vs. FA's, and draftees who have or haven't made the Pro Bowl is not only OT to this particular thread, it is disrespectful to both Perriman and those who started this thread welcoming him. Those discussions have been moved to the thread in the Draft Forum. Carry on there.

Welcome to Baltimore Breshad! Looking forward to seeing you shine!

  8. If he didn't know, he should have.

Most recently, the Falcons lost a draft pick and Rich McKay suspended from the competition committee even though it was determined management had no knowledge of taped crowd noise being pumped in by a "rogue" employee.

"as the senior club executive overseeing game operations, (McKay) bears some responsibility for ensuring that team employees comply with league rules."

The guy who actually did it got an 8 game suspension, and was fired.

    http://atlantafalcons.blog.ajc.com/2015/03/30/falcons-fined-350000-lose-5th-round-pick-in-2016/

    So, there's your precedent.

8 games, loss of a draft pick, and Kraft booted from the committee. Anything less shows serious favoritism.

  9. 1. But the idea that "it doesn't matter if they won or how well they did" is purely theoretical, mostly because it does matter. Do you honestly believe that the public reaction and fake outrage is the exact same regarding this situation if the Patriots lost the football game? Is it the exact same if Brady throws 4 INTs while using deflated footballs? Of course not.

    2. Whether or not anybody believes that its the first time its happened or not is by far the most irrelevant discussion of the process, because its impossible to know and impossible to punish. If you're going to attempt to prove that they did it more than once, you better make sure you've got at least some evidence regarding that. Simply saying "well obviously they didn't do it just once" isn't evidence... its theory.

I can guarantee that the NFL won't even remotely consider making the punishment "harsher" because of the theory that "well they must have done it a bunch of times". They're 100% interested in a single, isolated incident, because its the only thing they have evidence regarding.

Absolutely not. The reason the report is 243 pages is to establish a long-term pattern of probable illegal behavior culminating in one provable act. That is totally relevant.

And while that may not lead to harsher punishment, the league has a long history of giving out harsher penalties for lying and refusing to cooperate than for the original offense. That's where Br*dy's arrogance will be his downfall.

  10. And its probably the very thing that would elevate it from a mere "slap on the wrist" to a suspension.

Never really understood the publics argument though that "if you have nothing to hide just turn your cellphone over". I mean at the end of the day, its really no different than a stranger just asking to look through your phone and email. Regardless of what I have on either, you're not just going to look through my stuff just because you want to.

You want to get a subpoena of some sort, then we can talk. But the "well he shouldn't have anything to hide" argument doesn't make any sense to me.

Because they sign a contract agreeing to the League's Code of Conduct, and giving them access to that sort of thing. No subpoena necessary.

I (and most hospital workers in this country) can be asked to turn over BLOOD for a drug test at any time by my employer, because I agreed to that upfront as a condition of my employment. I can refuse, but I'd also be fired.

Same thing with Br*dy. He refused. He should be fired. Not so hard to understand.

  11. That guy Yee is unbelievable.

Since when are sports agents entitled to attorney-client privilege?

And questioning the ethics of the league for not giving the Pats a heads-up they were suspected of cheating before trying to catch them?

He must really think we're all morons.

And Br*dy's a complete idiot for letting this guy speak for him.

    2

  12. Hahaha.

Brady's agent now saying how unfair it was for the NFL to not inform the Patriots prior to the NFL championship game that they had been accused of cheating by the Colts - and been given a chance to not get caught. What a tool.

Also Judy Battista on NFLN stressing that the phrase "more probable than not" in NO WAY indicates doubt that Brady knew and lied about it - rather, that is the NFL's evidenciary standard for punishment, and the reason it was used so often.

And while they may have won the SB fair and square, the report casts doubt on every game they won to get there.  *
