  1. Building new talent doesn't mean instantly starting 3 or 4 of this year's draft picks. That is recipe for disaster. Not sure about this signinge, but Wallace is growing on me.
  2. As a witness. Apparently he was a friend of Tray's, saw what happened, and fled. By all accounts, the woman driving the SUV stayed and was cooperative with the police. No drugs or alcohol were involved.
  3. I'd like to thank the several Steelers fans who've made the effort to register here just to show their support.. It means a lot. Truly a brotherhood
  4. Absolutely heartbreaking news. How awful for his family.
  5. Thank you, Wig. We feel the same about you guys. Some things are just beyond football. Praying hard for this young man and his family.
  6. I'm with you guys. Grudgingly respect the Steelers. Absolutely hate the P*triots.
  7. We'll miss you Daryl. Wishing you nothing but the best.
  8. Prayers for Tray and his family.
  9. Bummer
  10. That, and I'm sure he's super-cheap.
  11. Agree. And Marlon knows the playbook.
  12. This thread is the perfect example of people getting all upset by jumping to conclusions, and jumping to criticize Ozzie and the front office when they only have half the information. Anytime the FO makes a head-scratching move like this, i find it helpful to take a breath and wait to see what else comes out. Almost always the team has info we don't. Trust, people. And patience...
  13. Really nice interview with Jimmy Smith and Shareece Wright on NFLN this AM. Jimmy talked about his struggles early last year coming off the injury and how hard it was keeping up with guys like AJ Green and Amari Cooper when he still couldn't move all that well. How 9 0f our 11 losses were one score games, most of them where we gave up a 4th qtr lead, and the key to turning it around is on them to protect a lead at the end of the game. Felt his play got better as the year went on and he re-gained some of his mobility, and is 100% going forward. Some things I didn't know : Jimmy and Shareece were best friends in high school, Jimmy brought him to our Super Bowl party, where (I assume) he met some of our coaches and staff. Jimmy was a basketball player, says Shareece was the one who taught him how to play football. Shareece also played 4 seasons in San Diego with Eric Weddle, talked about how great it's going to be to have him back there as a "D-Coord on the field." and how important chemistry is on the back end. It's obvious these guys really love each other, and WANT to play together. Not at all like the last couple years where we just threw together a bunch of cast-offs with no clear leader and hoped for the best. Both looking real, sharp, rocking the beards I think Hill starts, and Webby rotates in - can play either position, and pull some disguise packages. Seems like we've really cleaned up our issues in the secondary, I'm getting really excited to watch these guys play, I think they're going to be a lot of fun to watch this year. Ready for some football!!!!
  14. Not true at all. Weddle turned down a higher offer to come here, and Wallace apparently had "several" other teams willing to offer as much if not more. They are both at a point in their careers where winning counts for more than money.
  15. @fusuymada I totally agree with what your saying. I find it really interesting that whenever a player has high praise for his new team, people want to interpret it as a back-handed swipe at his old team, when that was not what was said at all. I also listened to all of Wallace's comments, expecting not to like him (my own prejudice), and was pleasantly surprised by his optimism. Also surprised he's taking so much heat for them. Must be a slow news day, gotta stir up trouble where none exists...
  16. exactly. It's the one trick we've been missing
  17. I know. This is so much fun to watch. Elway built that team to win now with no regards to the future, and now it's all crashing down. Good chance they lose Miller, too, after this year. His long-term cost just went WAY up in the last couple days. I'd almost feel sorry for Gary, but my feelings are still butt-hurt. They deserve Kaepernick, LOL.
  18. I love this signing, too! Another high-character veteran presence in the locker room who can produce on the field, if only for a year or two, while mentoring the younger guys. I think Crockett and Maxx are the future, but Watson solidifies the present. Welcome to Baltimore!
  19. Opinions are, by nature, biased. That's why they're opinions, not facts. Can we please try to keep this conversation on-topic, which is Joe Flacco and his contract, not a discussion of every available free agent out there? There's already a thread for that: http://boards.baltimoreravens.com/topic/67010-2016-free-agent-thread-other-teams/?page=12#comment-2357044
  20. Well, this is hilarious: http://forums.denverbroncos.com/showthread.php?241278-Louis-Vasquez&highlight=vasquez Thinking they could get KO for around $5mil. They are pretty delusional over there in general, but... The general consensus is that Vasquez, while good, was hobbled by injuries throughout last year - another Monroe situation. And, that while experienced in the ZBS, wasn't really a good fit - more of a power blocker. Not that I'm against it, he's been pretty solid overall, and the price could be right. Played RT for the Chargers, too, so he's got some versatlity.
  21. Thanks, really good information to have.
  22. No, just a one year deal. I think it was Mallet we signed for two. Hard to keep track of, backup QB was such a revolving door last year.
  23. They also just released Owen Daniels and Louis Vasquez, both starters last year. Dropping like dominoes. Had to franchise tag Von Miller.
  24. Broncos falling like dominoes...just makes my day.
  25. Oh, boy. I'd almost feel sorry for Kubiak...but no. I don't.
