Definitely THE BEST in football. I wonder if the injury was the cause of him being penalized more than ever. I would think so. If I remember correctly he was flagged while on the left side before he made the switch.
6 minutes ago, The Mom Gene said:Yes, Kendrick Lewis and Shareece Wright... BUT they did forget Lardarius Webb too.
I heard that Shareece Wright was reprising Chris Evans role as "Torched" in the next Fantastic 4 movie.
1 minute ago, OriolesMagicPlease said:That is why he only got a one year deal. He definitely thinks he is better than he really is. He should just go play and prove that he is better instead of blaming the Ravens.
Yep. Agree. And when he gets very little playing time in Indy, who's he going to blame then?
1 minute ago, RoamingRaven said:Yeah, I agree, Aiken walking is obviously him reading the writing on the wall from the front office. I also agree that Ozzie can do better than Aiken. Any of the top 3 WR in the draft would be an upgrade over Aiken.
But we don't for sure have any of those guys, they could all 3 get drafted before us in which case Aiken would've found himself on a team where he knows he can catch better than Breshad, and can catch just as good as Mike.
Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.
Doesn't even have to be "Top 3" quality. When teams start cutting players in training camp there will be quite a few who are semi-talented that are better than Aiken. Why are people thinking that he is even a reliable #3 on any team? He's just not as good as he might think which is why there was not a lot of teams even interested. They have seen the tape on him even from his 1 good year and still----crickets
56 minutes ago, bioLarzen said:As for Aiken and Juszczyk: time will tell if they were right or wrong. What I cannot help noticing however, is that while I cannot really remember defensive players leaving Baltimore then thropwing back darts, there were 3 offensive guys (these two plus KO last season) who don't really speak really fondly of the Baltimore offense... That less and less seems a coincidence...
I've long said, and I still think Harbaugh simply doesn't understand the NFL offense, and that's why he keeps appointing the wrong guys to command our O (with the sole exception of Kubiak), but knows too little to overrule their mistakes in offensive strategy, game planning and play calling. I fiormly believe that as long as Harbaugh is our HC, the only way we can have a good offense is by chance - because nobody who is responsible for it is good enough. I believe all the offensive success we've had since 2008 was not because of our coaching stuff, but in spite of it - out of the virtue of the players.
And that's why I think that no matter who we draft and acquire in free agency, we don't really have any real reason to hope for better a season that what we had - because the by far biggest cause of our offensive impotence: the incapable HC - has not been removed from the system. And until that happens, you can count on players leaving Baltimore to throw back shade like this...
Totally disagree. Our offensive success has to be credited at least in part to the coaches. The inmates do not run the asylum in Bmore. Players just cant say screw them, I'm doing it this way. Credit is rarely given where it is due. So I guess the coaches had nothing to do with winning the Superbowl in New Orleans, it was all Ray Lewis and the players.

31 minutes ago, bioLarzen said:On selecting an OT over a WR with the first pick: what use do you have of a good WR if the QB has no time throwing to him because the right tackle a swinging door?
Not buying the whole OT in first round Kiper guess. Way to many playmakers to choose from in the first and 2nd. I truly think that if Mike Williams is there at 16, we pull the trigger despite our track record with WR's in the 1st round. From all accounts, this years talent with OT's is weak. We will draft one but MY guess is 4th round or later.
57 minutes ago, The Mom Gene said:I'm sorry... but Aiken sounds like he's whining. He had opportunities. Quite a few times I saw where he was basically hit right in the numbers with the ball and dropped the pass. Come on man.... He had a ton of chances to prove himself.
I loved Juice. As a fullback, and where the position has taken a back seat to RB's and Receivers, you can basically understand where he's coming from. The play at the end of the Steeler's game is one I will not forget. He laid it out to make that TD.
Good Luck to both of them.
Agree. Aiken really isn't THAT good to be honest. He had his chances to prove himself but couldn't out perform a retiring vet or 2nd year rookie. His route running is also suspect. Lets see just how much he actually plays in Indy. He might just live on special teams. Notice just how much interest teams had in him....Ummmm hardly any. When he signed with them it wasn't a long deal so that should tell him something. I hate whiners! Blame everything and everyone but himself. Geez.
4 minutes ago, Bat-mite said:I don't understand Pitta's restructure. Guy comes off a major injury where he sat out most of two seasons and collected injured pay, then comes back and has the best year of his career and leads all TEs in receptions, and gets asked to take less money?
I am happy about it in that it frees up cap room so we can get some talent at WR and OL, but I really don't get it.
Completely understandable. Last years numbers are misleading. No YAC, small % of catches moved the chains, mostly dump offs that that created the large number of "catches". Then there is his health. If he actually does run for yards after catch, how long can his hip hold out? I like him but pay cut is understandable.
3 hours ago, Raven1995 said:I don't think the Ravens would go for a Receiver in the first round again so soon. They Don't want to end up like the Detroit Lions did and Draft WR's every year in the first round and then turn into a Joke.
If Mike Williams is there at #16, I would bet we pull the trigger. As we should.

Very clearly the most valuable player on our defense, and there's a gigantic difference between our defense's performance with him on the field vs without him on the field.
The difference with him and without him was quite evident if people were actually watching. I don't think some were or they wouldn't be talking just to talk.

No. Marcus Lattimore- Ohio State. Coming out this year. Hamstring problems all throughout college

It is written that the Ravens are not one of the teams in negotiations with Mangold as of the present time.
27 minutes ago, JD08 said:Ozzie is up to something, just waiting to see
Maybe not. Don't be surprised if Ozzie decides to go with Urshel to start the season. Not saying it's a great idea but releasing Zuttah and not being in the Mangold dealings as of yet, says that they may use in house or wait to see who shakes out when cuts start .
22 minutes ago, rmcjacket23 said:I don't really consider Brandon Williams a "FA purchase", because he's never played anywhere else.
That's the equivalent of saying that Joe Flacco was a big FA purchase.
If we had gone and signed Von Miller to a $20M a year deal, that would be a big FA purchase.
They don't have to have played anywhere else to be a FA. Contract up= FA. Either resign or they leave. Their choice=Free.
10 minutes ago, Maurice0094 said:Too many good CB's are gonna be available in the draft that can play right away, also I think Levine can be a asset at S. I wouldn't block those spots with a declining Webb. I do like Anquan to come back but that's after the draft, if we don't fill the Wr need then bring him back. He gets open, he is tough, he makes contested catches, he offers professionalism but he is 36 yrs old.
Be careful when alluding to those College guys as "Play right now". We have seen time and time again that many can't make the jump to the NFL tier right away. Just look at Lattimore. He couldn't stay healthy on the college level with hamstring problems. NFL training, practices and games are much more rigorous then anything they have ever done.
2 hours ago, Crusader said:Its Great Brandon's here to stay. Ravens still need a "Leader" "General" on defense and they need to develop that core group. This core group will help keep those 4th quarter collapses from happening. Orr could have been that guy.
From what I have read, Mosely has filled the "Leader" role quite nicely. The players respect him.
1 hour ago, sizzlingdoom said:Its past 8-8 right now if we draft well
I personally hope all of those guys are cut though
I think Claiborne is a terrible idea
Mangold should be explored
And I think Zach Brown should be a big target
I know a lot of people around here don't like old folks coming in. But different and dominant players are lasting longer than usual these days. I would love to add Peppers or Ware to rush on thirds downs opposite Suggs. And give Sizzle breathers. They can both stop the run and would be great additions in every other way too. We have a chance to really get an A++ this offseason. I give the FO a solid A right now. Have to draft well though. Better than well!
I agree. Claibourne is not a wise choice regardless of how cheap he is. Seems he just can't stay healthy enough to take the field. Mangold IMO is definitely on Ozzie's radar. I think they will be quite aggressive on going after him. I don't think they want to start the season with Urshel there. They can, but imo would rather not.
1 hour ago, sizzlingdoom said:Really? Sorry but I disagree. While it would always be nice to draft a player to groom at any position, while you have a stud vet already there to learn from, I don't see it.
We would have to spend at least a 4th rounder if we're trying to get a guy for the future. And I just don't see us spending a 4th rounder on a safety when we're set for years imo.
Understandably so, but people get carried away with age at times. SSS is my favorite athlete of all time, and I'll never forget the things the fans were saying about him when we brought him in, cuz of his age.
I'm not saying Weddle is SSS, but he is a special player and one of the most underated ones ever imo. He has at least 2 years left of HIGH quality play. And Jefferson is just getting going. Wasn't Weddle ranked as the 2nd best Safety overall? The guy has not slowed down at all, and our Defense is only making him better. Not to mention I sincerely think he will make a better FS than SS. He's not the most physical tackler at all, and it should help preserve him a little there. And he's super instinctive, a ball hawk, and can lead the back end. Tony is crazy in the box. I was rooting so much for us to bring in a SS so Weddle would move to FS. I think it's gonna be good stuff to say the least
The Safety position is set for years, and once we add a legit corner (hopefully at #16 this year), our secondary will be set for years. And one of the top couple in the league. Menelik is kinda interesting. And yeah Vollmer failed a physical and missed last year cuz of injuries. Rumors he might retire
Agree. CB should be our pick at 16. We still have to do some work to get our O-Line fixed. This draft is going to have to be spot on. But it seems to me that no matter what happens now, there will be some who will never be happy about any of this. We will hear that Ozzie paid too much to keep Williams, paid too much for Jefferson, should have brought in T. Smith and let Wallace go, Should have, could have, would have. IMO the front office just did a great job on Day 1 of FA. Now it will be interesting to see what else goes down. Go for it!
Say what you want about our front office but they are trying their best to keep B. Williams. If they weren't trying he would definitely be gone by now.
Just gonna toss this out there: DT: Dontari Poe. He is one of the strongest guys out there and before having a back injury he was a very good player. He's had an injury marred season and last season was his first one back from the injury and he under performed. Might be a 1 year "let's see" contract to re-establish his market.
Probably not at the money he is looking for. Pierce will fill in nicely.
38 minutes ago, rmcjacket23 said:Assuming he wanted to come here, of course.
Requires two parties to agree to a deal, not just one.
Agreed. It happened quick as though there was no other place he wanted to be. With the Giants he still keeps his media gigs (especially Showtime)
15 hours ago, steelcityraven said:We need to let Webb go... There are plenty of quality safeties in the draft (No less then 5 legit prospects in the first 3 rounds) and we can pick up another veteran S for fairly cheap (who should play equally as well as webb)
I do not see us cutting doom but stretching his contract out over a longer incentive heavy contract would be smart... we need pass rushers.
Finally... we have to cut Pitta... even if we bring him back later for less. He is set to make more then Ben Watson and our other (good young TEs) combined. Pitta is not worth that... especially when we have Watson and all the young TEs on contract.
Arrington should go... and I would imagine that we will lose BW, RW, and Juice...
I think Kamar will probably be gone as well
I really believe that Zuttah will also be let go... clearing even more space.
Finally... Not sure what we are doing with Buck Allen and Talifero... but with West and Dixon seeming to be secure and the plans we have to add a speed back... I really don't see us keep both of them.
Agree. If Pitta goes he will be a post June 1 cut. I think it's less dead money that way.
IMO Torrey goes to Philly who will offer more money. Truth be told, Wallace is the better player anyway.
