  1. Average of the 5 highest paid guards in the league based on AAV currently = $7.6M

Average total guaranteed money of the 5 highest paid guards in the league = $18.7M

    Most recent contract signings:

    Mike Iupati - 5 years, $40M, $22.5M guaranteed. Signed in 2015.

    Orlando Franklin - 5 years, $35.5M, $15.5M guaranteed. Signed in 2015.

Given Yanda is older than both, but probably better than both (or at least Franklin), I'd say Franklin's deal is a decent barometer. Maybe a little bit shorter of a deal, in the 4 year range, but probably at around $7-8M a year and possibly with as much as half guaranteed, given his long track record of success and mostly durability.

Sounds about right. You came through like I knew you would. Thanks!!

  2. I remember how exciting and great it was when the camp FINALLY opened and football was back - and how this feeling has then gradually turned into this "oh my, the camp and pre-season are here again, who is gonna get injured and so miss half or all of the season this time?" fright game...

I know Harbs runs a tight ship and works them hard, as it should be. I just can't get used to That bad feeling that something is going to happen injury wise before we even get to Week 1. There is a huge sigh of  relief when we actually come out of Preseason basically injury free and ready to go.

  3. Baltimore had its back to the wall in the early fifties also. George Preston Marshall, then owner of the Washington Redskins went around trying to convince other owners not to award a NFL team to Baltimore in 1952. In 1954, Clark Griffith, owner of the Senators, tried to keep the Browns from coming to Baltimore. Baltimore had to fight tooth and nail to overcome the politics.

And that's just another "no win situation" that we ended up winning.

  4. I hate it when good players on bad team that miss the playoffs evry yr manage to stay healthy and when they are on a good team which makes the playoffs they are injured that sucks they can enjoy making the post season after all those years of losing i feel for those guys

Agree. Injuries did make a difference with Monroe, but even before he was injured he really didn't show us what we thought he was. Coming into new system, new teammates all were a factor but in all honesty Monroe needs to step it up.

  5. Now they don't even want him in the top ten? This storyline is becoming old hat but it's a boring off season so I'll play along.

Guy in the video:"Flacco has received far more help from his defense. That's why he wins more."

And Romo has received far more help and stability from the talent around him on offense and that's why he's had better stats.Romo threw to a prime first ballot HOFer in Owens,a borderline if not already HOFer in Witten and Dez Bryant. The best WRs(Mason,Boldin,Smitty) Flacco has ever had were already in their 30's by the time he got them and only one of them was HOF worthy. The same can be said about his best TE's(Heap,Clark,Daniels). As great as Ray Lewis,Reed and Suggs were,THEY DIDN'T CATCH PASSES OR FLACCO.

Guy in video:"Romo has been better in the postseason than Flacco"

I cut the video off.I don't even want to play anymore....

Saying that Romo is better than Flacco in the post season is just plain stupidity. Sorry but it is. Romo has only been to the post season 1 time right? Cleveland guy making a statement about any Qb is hilarious. This is just people talking to appear that they know something.

    Go get em' Joe

  6. About time Harbaugh got some love from the media. The fact that our team has the ability to catch a second wind, and keep fighting at the end of the season speaks highly towards our HC

Agreed. What is really hilarious to me is how all the "experts" always had Jim ahead of John in the rankings even though John beat him each time we played them, not to mention beating him in the SuperBowl. Now look at what has happened to Jim, back to college and really not a good word being spoken about him from either players or management. John has always been "The Man"!
