A Man amongst boys. Proud he was a Raven.
Bias aside, that is not called at the end of games usually. It was and it is what it is. On to next week.
I'm pretty sure the reason we didn't have a deep passing attack in week one is that Joe frequently had to hit his check downs because he was constantly staring pressure in the face. We had plenty of receivers running deep routes, but Joe was never able to get his eyes downfield. We need better protection before we can even begin to realistically criticize the gameplan, I feel like we didn't even get to see the gameplan...
Very True. If you look, almost every throw was not only rushed but thrown off his back foot while still backing up. He literally had no time to throw.
The way we looked and played last week gives no reason to take anyone lightly.
I just hope the rotation for Dumervil prevents him from wearing down at the end of the season.
This is why it's imperative to get as many starters off the field as possible during blowouts.
Never understood why we kept starters in during blowouts knowing the grind of the season.
Frank Reich and the Buffalo Bills might be the reason. Depending on time left in game would probably determine if they stay in and how big the "blowout" is at the time.
WHAT IS HARBAUGH hiding? I don't get. WHat is really going on with our #1 pick- Breshad Perriman?
Why put it on Harbaugh?? He can only go on what the player is telling the trainers and vice versa. Hiding?? C'mon Man smh Think.
I agree that all blame cannot be put on Flacco. Some for sure but not all. After all, both passes (including the last INT in the end zone)were actually in the hands of Smith and Gilmore. Gilmores was knocked out while Smith's was just dropped.
Tough loss, as they all are but with all the injuries and stagnet play, we really could be in trouble. Can Ozzie work his magic? I hope so.
GO RAVENS!
The Patriots just can't stop cheating!
Yep. If your dog has been crapping on the floor for years, It is not going to stop all of the sudden. (Confucius)
It was 2013. No Big Deal. Means Nothing.
Go Ravens!!
If it's a Defensive player watch for Tim Jennings if he doesn't sign with the Bucs. Offense will probably come in the next set of cuts if we do add someone.
Even at 31, Jennings is a better option at CB than any of the 4 CBs you just listed.
I'll give you 3 of that 4 , but he is not better than Jimmy Smith.
If we get in with 9 and win a SuperBowl, I'm good with that. Lol
I think he has a great shot since Campanaro can't seem to stay healthy and Perriman has yet to see the field. Waller is a must in my opinion. We just might end up keeping more than we really want to because of the injuries. All that does is prevent depth at another position. This is why a coach's job is so hard.
would like to see renner get some work in the 1st qtr after flacco exits and see what he can do with some better players in the game. something about him
I believe that Flacco will go the first half, as this is usually the showcase game for starters. The last preseason game is usually 2nd and 3rd string. Although it has been different in the past. I cant see starters playing any more after this week mainly because of injuries.
Goes both ways, Haloti... If you had really wanted to stay, and you're knowing how much Baltimore DID love you, you'd have done the deal with the front office.
I agree. Both ways it is. It was he who really left us no choice. If he wanted to stay then he would definitely be here. The "They didn't want me" talk makes me a little sick in the stomach. Just wrong, motivational or not.
Webb's tendency for injury tells me that we will most likely see a lot of Melvin.
Really don't want Waller cut. Would love to see him stay for years. 6'6 240 is just what we need. Strong enough to fend off the Db's and tall enough to "Go up and grab the ball". Something we have really never had.
I don't think his talent or ability was ever a question as much as the question of staying healthy. His health history would come into play as to how many receivers we actually keep. I guess.
What I'm wondering about Perriman is whether it is indeed good news that there's no new injury, "it just heals slow". If this slower-than-normal healing is a tendency, it might be far worse news than a slightly more serious-than-thought injury. NFL players tend to obtain minor injuries on a regular basis (how many players have said the "no NFL-player is 100% healthy after week 1"?). If Perriman tends to heal slower than normal, it might mean a lot of "unnecessarily" missed practices and games... We know that Torrey played half his rookie season with a sports hernia (and we didn't even suspect until te news actually came out, well into the off season). Can Perriman play through "playable" injuries? Can his body cope with the increased load the NFL means?
Bothering questions...
I agree that they are bothersome. Especially since it seems that knee problems run in the family with his father Brett. I am sure of at least 1 surgery with the dolphins, and I am waiting on info for data when he was with the Lions.
so... name a receiver that can replace him as our #2(because lets be real, perriman was gonna be our #2, not aiken)
ill wait... lol
Jeremy Butler. Same size, little heavier and Deceptive speed. Not to mention that he has been Flacco's favorite target on long, sideline routes. He catches everything thrown his way.
So outside chance he gets reps in 3d pre-season game. More likely though it will be 4th pre-season game. But who knows with Ravens injuries? A day or so turned into 3 weeks. A week or so could be months Go Ravens and come on Waller, beat out all these cats and get that #2/3 spot.
I agree. What's not to like about Waller! size, speed, hands are all what you look for. All he needs is experience. I am rooting for him big time.
Arthur Brown had an "OK" game vs the Saints 3rd and 4th string. I wouldn't say he has totally awaken just yet.
I agree. Arthur Brown will still continue to be trade bait.
At this point in time, after what apparently was little to no ability to stretch the field against the Saints, we need to consider whether Perriman is going to be productive at all this year and do we need to trade for or bring in someone who has the speed to do that. With an already crowded receiver corps, it could mean losing someone we wanted to keep but without that speed, our offense will be drastically limited. Last thing you want is the strongest arm in the NFL and no one who has the burst to create separation downfield. All the eggs were in one basket and someone dropped that basket and we are going to end up with egg all over our face if we continue to wait for something to happen without proactively addressing it. Bring in a burner and if Perriman is back in time, then he can be cut, but if not, then we at least have an insurance policy. Not that there is much left out there, but time for Ozzy to do his magic.
NO way do we bring in another receiver. We have what we need on the squad already. WAAAY too early to write off anyone. Players do not need 4.2 speed to be able to take the top off. Ozzie has done his job. Now it's time for the players to do theirs.
I just know that Perriman needs to get on the field very very soon. This is very valued time that he is missing with Flacco. Timing is everything and it just doesn't happen over night. Here's hoping it happens soon.

What is disheartening is the fact that we were in position to win all 3 of these games. The defense has not come through with stops when we needed them to, that much is true. Our offense has scored enough points to win these games, however, our running game is horrible. We really have no run game going on at this time.We also have no pass rush. Injuries have been a part of the problem also (and I am not talking just Perriman). Despite all that we still Could have won these games. Our team is not in sync with each other and if we want to make it to the playoffs (I think we still can) we need to fix it NOW.
GO RAVENS
