Classy move on Kubiak's part. Newton on the otherhand, if you are brash & cocky about winning then you need to lose with some dignity. Definitely not how the MVP, face of the league acts after a loss. Grow up.

I mean the perception is that he's a train wreck off-the-field right? Well, if that's true... what exactly has he done to earn that label? Went out to a club drinking (which he is legally allowed to do) and then lied about it? Voluntarily checked himself into rehab in an effort to straighten himself out?
I mean where's the arrests and the off-field incidents? There's these two alleged things with his GF, but other than that, I'm actually not seeing him do anything that many other NFL players aren't doing on arguably a nightly basis.
I mean I guess you make the case that because he's a QB he shouldn't be doing these things, which is a valid argument, but I think all the bashing about his off-field transgressions is a bit overblown and lacks perspective when compared to the league itself.
I mean anybody who hangs out in the city often enough late at night would know that there's no shortage of Ravens players who, even in-season, are out late at clubs and bars having a good time.
I don't think his partying is the cause or reason. Like you stated "There's these two things with his girlfriend" (and a possible third thing with another female) and as minor it may be to some, it is THE red flag now as you probably know. Mix in alleged assault, drinking early a.m hours and there you have it. All it takes anymore is to be accused or associated with any assault and it spells big trouble. Fair? no, but cautious is a must.

I really don't see that happening Sami. I really think that Manzel will not be playing in the NFL in 2016. If he plays at all it will be in Canada. Yes Dallas did have interest but from what I am hearing, all teams are fine with passing on him. Enough is enough, when will the clown learn?
Thanks budman. I have read and heard about some support for Ray Rice through the NFLPA over the past few months, which I was glad to see. I just like that now there is a more visible role for Ray which is garnishing some national publicity as a show of this support, which I hope generates more opportunities for Ray to be involved again in football. Just hoping that the massive volume of negativity starts to subside and that Ray is able to really make positive contributions, have a career in football in some capacity and let the world revise their opinion of him and see Ray for the decent, good and genuine man he really is.
No problem. I believe Ray deserves a second chance. Makes me SMH that Ray is not playing , yet Greg Hardy ended up playing when his abuse was much more severe. Ray has the backing of a few women's groups and still nothing.IDK
Ray Rice had offered to help and work with the NFL months ago with Domestic Violence in young players but nothing seemed to come of it. I am glad that the NFLPA finally at least found a coaching role for Ray and it's a step in a positive direction. Ray Rice has done all a man can do to genuinely redeem himself. I am thrilled that Ray is reconnected in some role to the NFL, which could hopefully open up some doors in the future. Whether it be coaching or educating rather than playing, Ray Rice has a lot to offer. Good luck Ray.
I wouldn't say nothing came of it exactly. I believe Ray Rice works as a consultant along with the 4 women who were hired by the NFL as advisors in shaping the leagues Domestic Abuse stance. Those women are Anna Isaacson, Lisa Friel, Jane Randle and Rita Smith. They have actually come out and supported Ray for another shot at playing. They have said that they believe Ray has atoned for his actions.
Flacco a winner, Rex QB's not winners. Rex is a better coach and Flacco is a better quarterback.
Wrong. How many Superbowls has Rex won? Zero Case closed
Flacco and the offense won us the second super bowl. Yes defense was our strength until 2012. Ravens offense ranked 14th in the league with 4 different quarterbacks, 3rd string running back, 1 receiver on the roster at the end of the season that started the season with us, 3rd string tight end, and a rotating offensive line that was injured. I would call that an accomplishment. And with all of that we lost 9 of our 11 games by a score or less. Harbaugh is a great coach and any other team going through this would most likely fire coaches. What we need was to be healthy and we ended strong statistical wise the last half of the season defensively ranking 2nd in the league. It also does not help when your best defensive player went out week one for the entire season and your last two first round draft picks didn't play a snap this year because of injuries. With what the Ravens had left, which was minimal, I would say I am surprised they didn't end the season with only 1 or 2 wins, let alone being in most games at the end of it all.
Agree. The job Harbaugh did this was actually remarkable. He deserves more credit and respect than some on here is giving him. Not once did this team give up or give in. The effort was top notch in EVERY game despite everything that was happening to this team. Close games when we were supposed to be blown out.The record may not have been what we wanted, but it showed that Harbaugh is the coach that we want and for a very long time.
Harbaugh is by far the better coach. Players may like Rex but he has won absolutely nothing. Guarantees everything but produces nothing. Harbaugh has gone to playoffs 6 of 8 years and won a Superbowl. There really is no comparison. Harbaugh =Winner, Rex=Not a winner. Why do you think he was not named the Ravens Head Coach? Simple answer. You have seen and heard why.
Glad for Ed Reed. It may just be a 1 year gig though. Remember that Rex Ryan was given another year even though rumors were he was going to be fired. If the Bills do not make the playoffs next season, he most likely will be fired and who's to say that the new coach will keep Ed Reed or any of the coaches for that matter.
Team still suffers from the Ed Reed withdrawals. Impossible to replace. Many have tried and many have died trying. Well not died but you know what I mean.
Exactly. Ed Reed is the Highlander--There can only be one!
I feel for the people of St. Louis right now.
I agree. I feel for them too. We of all fans know all to well how much losing a team hurts. The feelings don't get better in a hurry either. The reality is that losing a team can happen to just about any small-medium market team, regardless of history. It always comes down to the almighty dollar. The history of the team, fans love or jobs that people will lose, along with their livelihood just don't matter when you get right down to it. Sad but True.
GO RAVENS!
I don't think that "even a blind mouse finds the cheese sometimes" is anywhere near being on par w/a PFF rating. Try again.
You're talking about PFF ratings for GAME. Then you say they are they best on the team??? Wrong. They weren't as good as the talent we have so they were cut. Did you ever even watch Jah Reid? If you did you would not be saying that he is the best on any team. SMH
Was Burfict fined for the head shot to Maxx Williams? The intent to injure is clear and without regard to the rules of player safety. If Burfict was not fined, he should have been. My question to the NFL, if Burfict was not fined for that Williams dangerous head shot, why didn't you fine that hit as well?
Yes he was fined even tho there was no flag. I don't know the amount. No Flag? SMH
Just noticed on PFF that 1) Toussaint had the second highest Steelers PFF score, 2) Jah Reid had the second highest Chiefs PFF score and 3) John Simon had the second highest Texans PFF score. So they are not good enough to be Ravens but are practically the best on other teams that made the playoffs. I think that's why some people have questions about the FO these days. I could be wrong.
Remember, even a blind mouse finds the cheese sometimes.
Really don't see why people want to give Marvin Lewis a break. If all the dirty play and hit are continuously happening then at some point it becomes a coaching issue. A Bengal player was even quoted as saying that they are always held unaccountable by the coaching staff and because of that the dirty hits keep happening. Lewis is part of the blame too.
Should be a minimum of 4 game suspension for Burfict, but that will never happen. The guy is really gong to hurt someone, maybe permanently. No place in the game for a guy who does those kind of scumbag things.
Really good piece. Just goes to show what a really good job the coaching staff did in a uncharacteristic year, especially Harbaugh. Really makes you proud to be a Raven Fan.They didn't give up. They finished hard with all they had.
I would say - in my best Mink impersonation - "zero percent chance. ZERO percent chance!"
... but then again, if I was the "cap guru" of any organization, that organization would be in a deep, deep trouble
And, of course, I'd be more than glad to be proven wrong about KO
I hope you are wrong also!! Thanks Guru. lol
Eric DeCosta, thanks for your loyalty to the Ravens. It is refreshing to know what a high value you place on your relationships and love of the Baltimore community, above just monetary considerations. The evolution of the GM job to you will happen 1 day. Til then, please help us nail the draft this year and have fun pulling pranks on your co-workers.
DeCosta really does deserve kudos. However, it has been several years now that he has been rejecting offers that could enhance his career. At one point Biscotti must have thought he might leave and made him a offer he couldn't refuse. I think he is paid GM salary or close to it so that he stays. It makes you wonder how much longer he can/will wait for Ozzie to step aside? It wouldn't surprise me to hear that this will be Ozzie's last year. Not that anyone wants that to be the case, it's just that DeCosta has learned everything he knows from Ozzie and will probably turn out to be one of, if not the best GM's in the league. He deserves a shot anyway.
Hey Mcjacket & BioLarzen!! Being that you guys are guru's of the salary cap, what chance do you give us that Osemele stays?
First person they need to fire is Chris Hewitt the secondary was the biggest failure on the team this season , there has to be someone better than Hewitt hell ask Ed Reed if he is interested in the position . Maybe he could teach Kendrick Lewis what coverage to play !
Ed Reed was already asked if he wants to coach and he replied "Yes, I'm waiting for the phone to ring" and he chuckled.
Is he in it for the money or does he actually want to play football and win Championships? Only time will tell!
That would be the 6.6 million dollar question that needs to be answered.
Pocket "QBs" are fading fast and the Ravens gotta keep up with the times! Look around at mobile QBs in the playoffs and how much further they go!
How is the pocket passer "fading fast'? There are really only 4 Qb's that are "read option" and that is counting R.Wilson who really only runs when he has to now. The other 3 are Taylor-Bills, Mariota-Titans, Newton-Panthers.
The rest are really"pocket"Qbs:
Flacco, Tannehill, Brady, Fitzpatrick, Dalton, Big Ben, Hoyer, Luck, Bortles, Manning/Ostweiler, Al.Smith, P.Rivers, D.Carr, Romo, E.Manning, Bradford, Cousins, Cutler, Stafford, A.Rodgers, Bridgewater, Gabbert, Foles, Palmer, Winston, Brees, M.Ryan.
Here is a friendly Happy New Years to all of you in Raven Nation! Be smart and Be Safe. I look forward to talking with you all in 2016!
GO RAVENS!!

Stop? I don't think so. Newton has said that if people don't like his dancing and all the other cocky arrogant things he does, then don't let him score. Well, if he doesn't want to be bashed for his childish pouting then he shouldn't do it. He brings it all on himself. How many other other Qb's that lost the Superbowl have acted like that. If he has the brag and swag, in your face attitude when he wins, he needs to man up when he doesn't win, not act infantile.
