  1. He was liked by a lot of people. It was last year that doomed him here. His decision making on bringing out kicks was just too much. He continually brought out deep kicks and failed to get out even close to the 20yd line which led the offense to work a longer field. Not to mention a couple of muffed punt returns. It's my understanding that he was talked to about his decisions but decided to keep doing it his way. He may be gone now but nobody can deny that he was a HUGE part in winning the Super Bowl (some say he was MVP). But that's the NFL (Not For Long)
  2. Sometimes (like today) it just gets good.
  3. Koch is having a great season too. I doubt that he gives Jacoby anything to return.
  4. That makes sense, I forgot about Waller and the concussion. I thought they would activate Butler for Special Teams at least. Oh well I have no idea either. Any answer on the Cap money being saved? I know that there is 20 million in dead money being lifted but that does not mean that we have all of that money to spend.
  5. Maybe Mcjacket or Bio will have an explanation for this one- Why would we add Jeremy Butler to the 53 man roster only to de-activate him? That move struck me as odd. Also please explain to some bloggers about the cap space next year not being a "spend free" spree just because we lose Rice's and other dead money. Thanks
  6. I never posted anything like that. Just responded to your quote.
  7. I have to disagree with you here on Webb Sami. Webb just can't cover like he used to which is why he draws a lot of P.I calls or holding calls. imo he took the pay cut to stay because really he wouldn't be playing anywhere else. He is a liability but the fact is we really do not have anyone to replace him right now. My feeling is he is not here next year even though it will mean we eat some dead money.
  8. I do not in any way blame the Refs for our loss, however on the interception a flag should have been thrown for pass interference because as you can clearly see, Gilmore was shoved in the back and that allowed Jefferson to make that catch. Had he not been pushed and kept his direction, Gilmore catches that for a Touchdown to tie the game. Still does not mean that we would have won, but we could have tied the game at that point.
  9. Also if you noticed, Flacco is also pointing to Urschel while looking at the Ref. Flacco started pointing before he approached the huddle.SMH
  10. What I think some people are not understanding is that there are multiple problems at multiple positions on our team. This is not going to be a easy or quick fix. The problems are deeper than getting a speedy receiver or a corner, or a pass rusher. Those things will help but we need more than that. It's reality check time. Go Ravens.
  11. Flacco has said he will restructure so there is no way he will count 28mil. We also need to watch the veterans we covet. There are scary choices each year. Look at Andre Johnson doing nothing and he has Luck as his Qb.(Rumor had him coming here) We do need lots of help but we must be very smart in how we do it.
  12. Problem with that is the person you are referring to is usually part of the "team" that the O-Coordinator takes with him. Duh!
  13. Have to disagree on your Webb description. Webb is the liability. He simply has those bad knees now and cannot cover which is why he has to hook and turn, and hold or interfere. Penalty waiting to happen. He had a lot of promise before his knees went.
  14. Aren't we all supposed to be Homers?? The other Qb's mentioned has had 1 thing that Flacco has not had---consistency in the Offensive Coordinator position. 4 in 4 years sucks. Most do a good job then leave for a Head Coaching gig. Hard to make them stay.
  15. They will watch us do what we do best---Shock the world! Not a soul believes that we will win tonight, but we will. 31-24 Ravens
  16. If they are not wanting to give up the big play, that means that they will line up 10yds or more off the receivers on every play which means giving up the first downs easily. Huddle up. Line up, disrupt, interrupt.
  17. Oh yeah. Bio is pretty good at it too!!
  18. Have to kind of disagree. Williams and Jernigan, etc were brought in because the front office knew that we could not pay Mcphee and Ngata not restructuring was forcing our hand to add depth to the D-line then, instead of other areas that we needed help. Front office knew that we couldn't lose those guys and more without having anyone to take their place.
  19. Sorry. My bad. He is a fellow Raven blogger on here. He is quite the info-monger (in a good way). Look him up in the directory.
  20. That's the Norm around here. We are all used to it.
  21. If it's Salary Cap issues or any other mony problems, I suggest you ask or get with Mcjacket on it. No joke, the man has got it covered and is quite accurate with it.
  22. It's both the offense and defense. IF the offense would score at the beginning of games and more times in the red zone the entire game we would at least have 4-5 wins even though the defense has given up points and has not been able to get off the field. We have failed on both sides of the ball at crucial times each game. It will change, but not quickly.
  23. Boldin was a definite mistake but not re-signing Torrey Smith was not. Smith just is not worth the money that he got from San.Fran. He thought he was worth #1 receiver money and we thought different. What has he done so far to make it seem we made a mistake? Nobody could forsee that Perriman would not take the field this year which does leave a hole at receiver, but paying Smith all that money for the past and projected production just did not make sense. Boldin is a different story. We could have kept him at a relatively low price and he is and has been worth every penny.
  24. Disagree. Talent is the main issue. We do not have young, explosive "Playmakers" on this team. Heck our receivers can't even get open.
