Hopefully Dean puts the bug in Ozzie's ear to draft Sidney Jones, CB.
John identified 5 question mark positions that need solidifying, add in a wish list of WR & CB and Ozzie//Harbs have their work cutout for themselves in the months ahead.
Team is coming together though some holes will remain.
Other than Christmas this is the best time of year to make your wish list and wait for draft day.
At the State of the Ravens review the top brass said the run game was priority one this year. Financially (given the cost of a RT) and making good on that commitment, no one would be a better #16 pick than a top O-linemen to play ROT.

Just for the sake of argument, are the players you mentioned better than the players taken in the first 2 rounds? Just saying...

I assume you read the article; all I would say in response is Ozzie could trade down to get the appropriate value, and, as you say, the talent pool is shallow for the position and we are in need. There are no guarantees at ROT but quality ER/WR/CBs are available in the 2nd and 3rd also. Food for thought my friend, food for thought.
ICYMI.
There's an interesting article over on Ravens Beatdown, Ravens will take an OT with the first pick in the 2017 draft , discussing the financial benefits of drafting a ROT (Ramcyzk, Bolles, Robinson) in light of the Ricky Wagner // Riley Reiff $10mil/yr FA hauls. He goes on to suggest a Pat Elflein/Ethan Pocic center selection in the 3rd giving the Ravens a dominating, young and inexpensive O-line for the next few years given the Stanley // Lewis selections of last. The other 2 top 100 picks are devoted to edge rusher // CB // WR needs.
Post your thoughts below.
A Baltimore Beatdown writer makes an argument for the Ravens taking a ROT at 16 and a center in the 3rd. You can read the article here. In essence he writes Rick Wagner and Riley Reiff, other ROTs, are knocking down a new league starting price of $10mil/yr for the position. The Ravens, with a ROT pick this year and Ron Stanley last will have a pair of stud tackles for 4 years at minimum cost leaving money for other positions. With 2 top o-line additions the offense should be top tier and ready to rock. A thoughtful perspective.
With 4 top 100 picks I'm hoping for a RT/o-linemen and a center to be among them. That leaves 2 picks for a WR, CB, ER, LB. That's a lot to wish for. Go Ozzie.
Christian McCaffrey @ 16, then ROT, C & defense in the first 2 days.
With 4 top 100 picks in the draft, I hope they spend them on a RT, C, ER, CB, or ILB. With some strategic planning they could get 4 very good players to fill holes/needs. Git'er done Ozzie.
This is the year of defensive studs and low and behold the Ravens are positioning themselves that it seems the only way they can eclipse an 8-8 record next year is if they draft offensive linemen early. Either Garett Bolles or Ryan Ramczyk at 16 to replace Rick Wagner and either Pat Elflein or Ethan Pocic to replace Zuttah in the 3rd. With a lot of luck they may even be able to grab a decent edge or CB in the 2nd round. Hoping for some Ozzie magic.
This is going to be a great year for drafting defensive players and the contrarian Ravens will spend the first 3 rounds drafting offense. I hope not but ... smh
Christian McCaffrey would do much to up to RB, slot receiver, KR/PR needs, but WR, ER, and CB will probably override his selection. So many needs and only one 1st round pick.
Here's hoping he earns his money.
I hope this signing doesn't mean they postpone drafting a CB until the 3rd day.
Add me to your prospects list.
D is coming together. Draft a CB 1st or 2nd round and we'll be good2go.
Time to cleanout the DBs anyway. Only 4 or 5 are worth their salt.

I don't get the love of drafting a RB. I agree Dixon is a rare talent. He will trample a DB and that is if he doesn't shake him out of his shoes first. Dixon is an incredible talent. I like him as much as Cook or Zeke.
He ran a 4.58 which is good long speed for a back if he has good burst and elusiveness. But Dixon was surprised and disappointed at it and feels he is capable of playing at sub 4.5 breakaway speed. He pretty much promised he is going to be faster than that. Priest Holmes went from 4.58 speed to 4.38 after working on it. He is a good sized back and as strong as Ezekiel Elliott. He squats between 600 and 700lbs. Which is more than most LBs and explains all his broken tackles. With his size speed elusiveness and power he is one of the best young backs today. And it gets better. He is a great route runner with really good hands and ball skills. What more do fans want in a young back? I don't get it. Why do we need to draft a back early?
Sounds like the team should use him as a slot receiver; we need pass-catching playmakers more than a 3-yds and a cloud of dust guy.
On mock drafts and mockers ... if they get half of the first 10 picks right, they are doing well. Speculation and discussion are fun but that's all it is. This is truly they worst time of the football year. ![]()

Is there any scenario where Flacco and the Ravens have a good year? Just wondering.
Until proven otherwise, Ravens look about right for next year ... 8-8 again.
Where the Ravens are picking they may not get the #1 or 2 prospect but at 16 they have several options. Whomever they select I just hope he pans out for us. Really like the Pocic, C, pick in the 2nd.
